Ellsbury Steals Home and Sox Sweep Yankees (NICE)

A Sox/Yanks series doesn't quite have the same appeal as it did in years past but it's always nice to beat them, especially when the Sox sweep the series.  There were a bunch of crazy games all weekend long which made the series more exciting than most people expected considering that the Yanks suck this year.

The best play of last night's game was when Jacoby Ellsbury stole home easily.  You rarely ever see that play these days but Ellsbury got in there with ease.  He even stumbled a bit and admitted after the game that he wa going to slide feet first but it looks like it didn't matter.  That has to be a scary play for the runner considering they could get drilled on the head with a 90+ MPH if he times it wrong.

Let's hope that this series helps boost Ellsbury's confidence so that he continues to play with some more consistency.  He was awful to start the season but he has been picking it up lately.  If he can keep improving and Ortiz actually starts hitting some Home Runs, then the Sox should have no problem taking over first place in a few weeks.
