Jeff Green's AMAZING Buzzer-Beater vs Miami Heat (NASTY)

This is a couple days late obviously but I had to throw it up since I still can't believe this happened.  No one even expected the Celtics to be competitive against the Heat, yet alone win this game.  They probably should have lost by about 20 had the Heat actually tried a little harder and not played to the level of their opponent (a classic old school C's move) but it happens once in awhile when playing a crappy team.  The C's also played great all game and kept themselves in it so this was just the icing on the cake.

Had Wade just hit one free throw or even hit the rim on the second one, the game is over.  The Heat really screwed this one up multiple times.  I'll take the win though.  There aren't going to be many positive moments like this for the Celtics this season so I will take whatever I can get.  That's three wins in a row, including another solid win against Orlando on Friday.  Who saw that coming!?!?

I almost forgot about Green's sick dunks too.  Dude is finally starting to turn it around.  That's what we need!

"Hello Paul" - Pierce's Introduction to Brooklyn (COOL)

I have to admit that it's been tough watching Pierce and Garnett play for another team this season but I wish them nothing but the best and hope they can both get one more ring before they retire in a few years.  We all knew the rebuilding had to happen sooner than later in Boston but it's never easy to let go of your favorite players, especially those that helped bring another championship to town.

It's nice to see Pierce embracing his new home in Brooklyn.  I'll be rooting for them all season as my "second team" after the Celtics.  It should be fun to see them playing with more talent around them again with a good chance at getting another ring before all is said and done...

Glen "Big Baby" Davis Release Rap Song Called "Gon' Turn It Up (AWFUL)

I’m so glad the Celtics got rid of this clown last year.  I used to talk myself into liking him since he was on the team and he showed flashes of being a great player but he was just too much of a headcase to last long term.  He thought he was better than he really was and he wanted the ball and to start on a Championship team where he hadn't earned that right yet.  After he punched a bathroom stall and broke his hand right before the season started two years ago, I officially had enough.

There is no way this was a joke on his part and he probably thinks it sounds awesome. It's like a bad version of Flo Rida, T-Pain and David Guetta all mixed into one.  I've heard worse from athletes but this is right up there with worst athlete decisions of all time.  Dude is delusional.

Jason Terry Learns the Boston Accent (AMUSING)

This could have been funnier if everyone interviewed hadn't fallen back on the cliche "Pahk the Cah in Hahvahd Yahd" but I still like Jason Terry's energy, personality and willingness to mingle with the Boston people and learn our awful accent.  It reminds me of two years ago when Shaq was out and about in Harvard Square acting like a statue or just walking around making friends with random people.

Jason Terry seems like a good dude and I think he is going to be one of the fan favorites instantly this year.  I'm loving his logo on his Reebok tee too.  I need one of those!

I can't believe the NBA season is already here.  The Celtics play their first exhibition game tonight in Turkey as part of a multi-game European tour.  Sweet!

Celtics Beat Magic Again After Being Down 27 Points! (CRAZY COMEBACK)

Wow!  Who saw this one coming?  Actually, the way the game started is exactly how I expected it to go but the ending is what was unexpected.  The C's blew out the Magic on Monday and I assumed the opposite would happen last night down in Orlando.  The game certainly started that way with the C's looking sluggish and going down by 27 points.  I was almost ready to turn the channel for good until they showed some life in the 3rd Quarter.  Then the D woke up in the 4th quarter, shut the Magic down again and everything started rolling.

Pierce was scoring at will and Moore was hitting threes left and right.  Crazy!  I thought Monday night was a fluke but maybe the C's really were just out of shape and needed some time to get their shit together.  I'm heading to the game tonight against the Pacers and I still think there is a chance for a letdown game but it would be nice if they could keep this momentum going.

Here are the highlights from Monday that I forgot to post earlier this week:
I almost forgot to post KG's awesome postgame interview rant with Craig Sager. "Bar Fight!!!"

Ray Allen's "MLK" Air Jordan 12 PE (DOPE)

Although the C's ended up losing to the Thunder last night, it was still a good game and much closer than I expected.  The Celtics also paid a nice tribute and thanks to Kendrick Perkins on the JumboTron coming out of a timeout in which he waived to the crowd and he got a standing ovation.  It was very cool to see in person and it might have gotten a little dusty in the Garden for a few seconds.

After the nice intro for Perkins, the first thing I noticed from up in the balcony was the kicks on Ray Allen's feet.  He was rocking a never before seen Black and Gold PE colorway of the Air Jordan 12 for MLK Day.  I feel like these pictures don't do them justice because they looked better in person, even from a distance.  They were basically glowing on his feet as he ran around.  So dope!

Celebrate Larry Bird's 55th B-Day w/ This Bad Ass Video

I don't usually do lame birthday shout outs for people I don't know but it's the "Basketball Jesus" Larry Bird's 55th so I had to give him some props since he provided years of sports enjoyment for me as a youth.  Enjoy this very nice highlight video to reminisce on the career of one of the greatest and most unique players of all time.

Champs Sports "We've Got the Hook Up" & Foot Locker's "The Educators 2" Commercials Featuring Rondo (FUNNY)

It's only :15 seconds long but this is one of the better versions of the new Champs Sports ads that have been playing on heavy rotation lately.  I love how Rondo got the shivers and freaked out after being forced to wear Lakers gear.  Classic! By the way Champs Sports, that was pretty f'd up. Don't be messing with my mind like that.  Shit ain't cool.

While we're talking about Rondo, I thought I'd hit you off with the new Foot Locker commercial "The Educators 2".  I like what they're doing with these spots.

Slow- Mo Highlights of Boston vs. Miami Game 3 (COOL)

I love these high quality slow motion highlight videos that the NBA puts out on YouTube.  It makes everything more dramatic and you appreciate the plays a lot more.  This one they put together for Game 3 of the Boston vs. Miami series was a great one.  There were a lot of nice plays that you get to take a second look at as well as a new look at the Rondo/Wade incident.

As you know by now, Wade blatantly dragged Rondo down to the ground causing him to dislocate his elbow and everyone thought he was done for the season.  It was even more dramatic in this slow-mo video because of the depressing music.  It's kind of cool how it slows down during the play and then picks back up as Rondo makes his triumphant return and the C's close out the win.

That was a huge win for the C's since they showed the Heat that they haven't given up and aren't backing down.  In a weird way, the Rondo play was actually one of the best things to happen to the Celtics.  They rallied around Rondo and are now out for blood.  They were completely asleep in Games 1 & 2 but the Heat have no awoken the sleeping giant and I think the C's are going to go on a roll for the next couple of days.

I don't think these clowns are ready for what's about to hit them in Game 4. Bosh already admitted he was nervous in Game 3 and it affected his play.  Just wait until he sees what this crowd is like tonight when everyone is calling for their heads.  On top of that, the Celtics have some extra bulletin board material to motivate them even more.  I'm lucky enough to have tickets to the game and I fully intend to let the venom spew and let these bitches have it.  They won't be able to hear themselves think.

Please Help Stop Elderly Abuse! Celtics Diss Video (WEAK)

I'm not gonna lie, the concept is kind of funny and the execution was decent but I think it's kind of ballsy to put together a video talking this much shit when all the Heat did was win Games 1 & 2 at HOME.  You are supposed to win both games at home.  If they did drop one to the C's then you would all be shook but you suddenly you have balls because you are up 2-0?!?!?  Maybe this would be warranted if the series was already 3-0 but y'all need to relax.

Get back to me when they actually win a game in Boston and then maybe you can put together a part 2 of the video.  But until then, keep it to yourself Heat fans.  You can't even show up to playoff games on time. You have to put white sheets on all of your seats to make it look like the fans are full.  Shit is pathetic.  You are in for a rude awakening on Saturday night.

Celtics Steal Another Win Against Knicks in Game 2 (MELO GOES OFF FOR 42 PTS.)

Well, that was interesting. I almost had another heart attack watching the end of Game 2 but at least the Celtics pulled off another win. They really have no business winning either of these games based on how they've been playing but I'll take it. Something is just off and if the C's don't wake the F up, they are in for a rude awakening for Game 3 & 4 at MSG. That place is going to be on fire and if they aren't ready for it, the C's could get blown out in either game and could easily coming back to Boston tied 2-2. Wake up!!!

At least the C's had a big lead in Game 2 at one point unlike Game 1 but they quickly pissed that away at the end of the 3rd quarter and let Carmelo Anthony take the game over. He almost won the game by himself with Amare and Billups out. He threw up 42 points and 17 rebounds and it seemed like he couldn't be stopped. I don't know how the Celtics didn't take advantage of the Knicks thin bench and lack of height.

I have no idea why Big Baby Davis was in the game for so long either. He was playing horribly and was getting torched by the quicker and more athletic Knicks front court. Doc is a fool for not bringing Jermaine O'Neal back in the game for some rebounding and defense. He would have kept Carmelo out of the paint a little more and he certainly would have had some rebounds. The Celtics were just slapping at the ball instead of grabbing it and allowed the Knicks at least 3 or 4 extra possessions in the last 2-3 minutes which almost allowed the Knicks to pull off the win.

I just don't get why you wouldn't take advantage of your height if you know the other team has no big men to match up. Doc always reacts to the other team instead of doing what is best for his team which is using the best talent available. He's trying to play chess when all he needs to do is play checkers. Keep it simple Doc! You aren't that smart.

I also don't know why Carmelo made this pass at the end of the game because he should have been taking the last shot, even if it was forced. The way he was playing, there is a much better chance of him throwing up a bomb and it going in than Jeffries scoring on Garnett. KG stepped up and made a great defensive play to save the game. THANK GOD.

Rondo Opens Up About the Perkins Trade on The Association (INTERESTING)

If you're not currently watching The Association on ESPN then you are really missing out on a great behind the scenes look at what it's like to be in the NBA or just be a professional athlete in general.  Even if you're not a Celtics fan, you will almost definitely find the show interesting.

It was nice to see Rondo open up about the Perkins trade and finally show some emotion in this latest episode. He's usually a robot and holds everything in so it was refreshing to see him talk about his feelings. I have to think that was part of the reason he went in a slump right around the same time this was most likely filmed.  He doesn't seem like the type of dude who has a ton of friends so it was probably pretty devastating to see his best friend being shipped out after all of these years hanging out together.

Here's a few funny deleted scenes as well. Big Baby f'd up those Flint Grey Air Jordan XIII's by spilling some food on them. The funny thing is, it looked like baby food too.  Is that ironic?  I can never get that right.  Anyway, stop eating so much food, dude! You are ruining some classic J's because of your inability to keep that shit in your mouth.  Not cool.

Jeff Green Dunks on His Own Head (NO GOOD)

I was watching the Celtics game half-assed last night since they were resting the starters and I ended up missing this crazy play. Jeff Green caught a nice oop from Big Baby and threw it down but it didn't count because it bounced off his own head before it made it all the way through the net. It's one of those weird rules that you forget about because it rarely ever happens and when it does, it still doesn't make any sense. It's kind of funny to think that the ball can go all the way through the rim but if it doesn't clear the net, it still doesn't count as a made basket...

C's Beat Bucks; Pierce Throws Down A Sick Dunk (IN THE ZONE)

I don't know what's up with Pierce this season but he looks like he added about 5" to his vertical.  He was never much of a leaper so it's kind of crazy to see him throwing down dunks like this as he gets older.  He is definitely in great shape this year and that has to be part of it but I would like to know what his secret is and if he's been focusing on jumping exercises specifically.  He has thrown down some of the best dunks of his career this season which is pretty insane.
Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
He had a plethora of highlights in last night's game against the Bucks.  He threw a sick behind the head pass to Kristic which was nice (and also would have been a turnover had it been stone hands Perkins) and also had another spin move on the post to blow past his defender.  He only had 23 points but it felt like more because there were so many nice plays.

Pierce is starting to play his best ball of the season at the right time.  The team is playing well and even winning games where they let the other team get back in the game after a large lead which would have been a loss the past few seasons.  It's all about timing.  If they can get fully healthy, I don't think anyone can mess with the C's right now.  And other than Big Baby, no one is crying in that locker room after a regular season loss like the bitch ass Heat.

Celtic's Deadline Deals (SHOCKER)

Where do I start? I'm writing a paper for school with my TV on mute when a buddy of mine tells me to check out ESPN2. I expected to change the station and see a mediocre trade that stengthened the C's with a back-up to Pierce but what do I get? We traded PERK away? What is that Danny?

The Celtic's gave the OKC Thunder Perk and Nate for a talented Jeff Green (who we originally drafted but gave away in the Ray trade) and Nenad Krstic.
Most people say when you are recieving the most talented player in the trade (J.Green) you are always the winner. In this case, it doesn't work that way. Perk was our starting center who knew our system and did exactly what we asked him to do, stop Dwight Howard and any other big man that was too much of a physical presence for KG to guard. With Shaq and Jermaine still injured we now have Nenad Krstic manning the paint with his god awful rebounding and shot-blocking numbers. He is averaging 4 rebounds a game, pretty damn low for a 7 footer.
Ontop of shipping of Perk and Nate, Ainge sent the rest of our healthy big men to Cleveland for a 2nd Rd. pick and the Clippers 2012 1st Rd. pick which most likely will turn into a top 10 pick.
Also Marquis was sent to Sacramento for cash and a 2017 draft pick. 2017? How is that legal to trade picks so far in advance? When I saw that I thought it would be smart if GM's could only trade picks that are within the years on that GM's current contract because if a GM's contract is up and they aren't re-hired, the new GM faces the fact that draft picks down the road are gone and they had no control.
--
Last night the Celtics played the new look Nuggets, basically the Knicks, with an extremely undermanned roster. They went into the game with only 8 players on the roster and only two of which were over 6'7 (KG and Baby). They signed D-Leaguer Chris Johnson, 6'11, who played at LSU. "CJ" as Doc already dubbed his nickname, played pretty well for a guy who was supposed to play in a D-League game last night. I didn't expect much from the C's last night and the lack of depth showed down the stretch when the Nuggets took what was a close game and turned it into a 14-point win.
--
Looking at all the trades as a whole, I'm trying to have a positive outlook. Jeff Green is an athletic 6'9 guy who is very long. He can spread the court for Rondo and shoot the three. He also can defend some 4's in the league so Doc can play him with the big 4 at the end of the games like he did in our title year with Posey. I'm not a fan of getting Nenad Krstic one bit, I would have rather gotten Serge Ibaka grabbing dolls off the rim but in some ways he could help. He spreads the floor like Green does and gives us something Perk didnt, a true offensive game. Krstic is kind of like a big Z who can step back and hit shots. We just need to brain-wash him into our system and get him to play defense. I like getting rid of Nate and his contract. Luke never really showed much so it's not hard to see him go. We wish the best to Marquis in getting healthy and playing again in Sacremento but the loss of Semih at this point kind of stings when we have no healthy bigs (Krstic will play saturday).
C's have been rumored to be looking to buy-out Troy Murphy, Jason Kapono, Morris Peterson and a few other players to anchor their bench.
Yes, we lost Perk. A guy who has played all his years in Boston and is loved by the city but we got a really good basketball player in return. It is time to move on and wish Perk the best.

Trade Deadline Deals (VERY INTERESTING)

UPDATE: The Twitter world is buzzing over the deadline which is in 20 mins. The latest about the Green is: Anthony Parker is their top target but they have several fall-backs if that doesn't happen. Latest word is that a deal may be happening.

The NBA trade deadline is now 2 hours away so there is still time for the Celtic's to make a move to make up for the loss of Marquis Daniels. The newest word around Daniels injury is that he may need season-ending but career-saving surgery. It does suck that he most likely wont make it back this season because he was playing really well but it's good to hear that it most likely will not end his career.

As we wait to see if the C's make a deal in the final hours, here are some of the deals thats already went down:
The Melo' saga ended Tuesday when the Knicks and Nuggets finally agreed upon terms to send Melo' to his hometown. NY gave up Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton and Timofey Mozgov. Denver sent Chauncey Billups, Renaldo Balkman, Shelden Williams and Anthony Carter. NY also got Corey Brewer from Minnesota as part of the trade.

Raymond Felton is having a great season and it must have been hard to let him go but what has been completely over-shadowed in this trade is NY getting Billups. He is a proven veteran with playoff experience who could really help the Knicks.

With that said, the Knicks are still missing a piece OR pieces. The main thing missing for them is a bench. Yes, you do have two super-stars but as Knicks fans will soon learn it still wont be enough to beat a veteran and deep team like the Celtics.

Melo's first game with the Knicks was last night, scoring 27 but they still struggled to put away the BUCKS!

In other trade news:

The Jazz sent their All-Star PG Deron Williams to NJ for Derrick Favors and Devin Harris. Wait what? The Jazz picked up another big guy? They now have Favors, Mehmet Okur, Paul Millsap and Big Al Jefferson among other bums who ride the bench. This trade really confuses me when I look at it from the Jazz perspective. As for the Nets, I don't think it is a terrible trade but to get rid of a young star with great potential like Favors just doesn't make sense.

The Clippers sent Baron Davis to the lowly Cavs for Mo Williams and Jamario Moon. I feel bad for B. Davis, he has struggled over the past few years and it seemed as if he was starting to have fun being able to throw the ball up and watch Blake Griffin do his thing.

The Hawks got Kirk Hinrich and Hilton Armstrong from the Wizards for Mike Bibby, Jordan Crawford and Mo Evans. The only player in this trade that makes sense to me is Jordan Crawford, he's a young athletic rookie who has a solid future ahead of him. The Wizard's got Bibby to compliment J.Wall? Atleast Hinrich could play 2 guard, Bibby is a 1 and now the Wizard's have two of them. No wonder the shitty teams in the league are so bad, the GM's of these teams don't have a clue of what they're doing.

UPDATES TO COME

Glen "Big Baby" Davis Misses a Wide Open Fast Break Dunk (SPRITE COMMERCIAL STYLE)

You've probably already seen clips of the horrific missed dunk by Glen Davis from Sunday's game against the Heat but it was so awful that it's worth another look.  I was lucky enough to be at the game but as usual, the Jumbotron operator decided not to replay something that might have actually been interesting to the fans so I only saw it live.  I didn't get to see the replay until last night and all I can say is, WOW.  That was just awful.

I'm not really sure what happened to BBD because he can dunk fairly easily and does it on a regular basis with just 1 or 2 steps in the paint so it's not like this would have been a big deal.  I think he just isn't used to running that far with the ball and he got tired and took off from too far out.  He also looked back to see where the defender was and that totally screwed up his timing.  Just dumb all around.  You could see Doc and the bench laughing at him which made it that much better.

The first thing I said to my friends right after it happened was "Oh shit!  Sprite Commercial."  If you don't remember that Sprite commercial with Grant Hill from back in the day, take a look below.  We used to make fun of people all the time whenever they missed a dunk like this. It still gets used to this day during hoops games.

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Luckily, the Celtics didn't need this basket since they were still able to pull off the win against the Heat.  Even with the bench severely depleted as it was against the Lakers, the Celtics were able to step it up and keep both LeBron and Wade in check.  If we had a full squad, I think the C's could have won that game by 10 or 12 points.  I'm definitely not afraid of the Heat in the playoffs.

Ray Allen HIts NBA All-Time 3 Point Record While Rockin' His Air Jordan 13 PE

That was a tough loss last night for the Celtics considering they were beating the Lakers by as much as 15 points in the first half.  Unfortunately, they let them get back in the game towards the end of the first half and then played like garbage to start the second half and let the Lakers take control for the eventual win.  The C's gave a decent effort in the end to come back but they were just too tired considering they only had 10 people suited up for the game due to injuries.  Everyone seemed to get in foul trouble as well so they were basically playing at a disadvantage all night.

I've been arguing with annoying Lakers fans (aka my brother in law) for the past few days and they are delusional, as always.  They took that as a big win but if I was them, I would not be happy with that at all.  If we beat a depleted Lakers team that wasn't at full strength, I would certainly take it with a grain of salt.  That wasn't the real Celtics team out there last night.  They already proved they can smoke the Lakers with a full squad when they beat them out in LA by 12 points.  Of course, Lakers fans already forgot about that.

The one positive that came out of last night's game was Ray Allen becoming the NBA's All Time Leader for 3 Point FG's Made.  He passed Reggie Miller who had 2,560 3 point FG's in his career.  Reggie was actually announcing the game for TNT so he was there to congratulate Ray during a timeout.  It was definitely a cool scene:

During the game, Craig Sager and his awful blue velvet suit announced that Ray's Air Jordan 13 sneakers that he was wearing during the game would be sent to the Basketball Hall of Fame to commemorate the record.  Very cool.  I don't know if Ray has worn these yet this year but this is a great white and green colorway for the AJ 13 silhouette.  I know it won't happen but I would love for these to get released so I could own a pair.  I know they would sell well, at least in Boston.  Here's a few pics of Ray rockin' his dope custom Jordans:

Kevin Garnett's Anta KG 1 “Beat LA” Kicks (NOT BAD)

I've posted pics previously of Kevin Garnett's first signature shoe with Anta called the KG 1.  I'm not a huge fan of the shoe because they looked kind of cheap but the new "Beat LA" edition is actually pretty solid.  I'm not usually a fan of all green shoes but these match the Celtics unis nicely and the suede gives the shoe the appearance of better overall quality.

In case you were wondering, the 152-120 on the tongue signifies the all time record of the Celtics vs. the Lakers although you can now make that 153 after Sunday's huge win.

I'm not sure I would ever wear these but I would certainly consider adding them to my collection of Celtics related kicks.  Unfortunately, he didn't even wear these against the Lakers on Sunday.  He decided to go with a slight variation of the white colorway.

Celtics Beat Lakers 109-96 in L.A. (HUGE WIN)

That's what's up, bitches!  Lakers fans can suck it.  They talk so much shit all the time but they can't handle it when their team gets owned by the Celtics.  Even with the refs trying their hardest to make this a game by calling almost everything against the C's and never giving them any shooting fouls when they were getting raped underneath the hoop, they still managed to pull off a 13 point win in L.A.  That's how you do it.

All of the national NBA analysts will be on the Celtics nutsacks now that they have beaten every single title contender at least once.  They always seem to forget about them because they are old and focus on defense and aren't as sexy as the Lakers or Heat but they officially have to wake up and take the Celtics seriously.  That game was a message to the rest of the league that the C's are even more fired up and motivated than ever.  As long as they stay healthy, there is no way anyone can beat them in a 7 game series.

The best part of the game might have been this exchange that was tweeted by J.A. Adande:

“KG to ballboy hoping to get his ball signed: “You’ve got a better chance of catching Bin Laden”
