Inside Stephen Jackson's Sneaker Closet (BOXES FULL OF J's)

So this is what it's like to be a Jordan Brand athlete?  DAMN!  I am jealous as shit.  That is just nasty.  Stephen Jackson's closest is nicely stocked and just when you think he's done, you get a look at the rest of his collection in the basement which is just out of control.

How awesome would it be to have Jordan send you multiple boxes of J's all at the same time and way before their release date?  Heat for days!  I guess the closest I'll ever get to this is being part of the Jordan Brand team is with my player in NBA 2K13.  Oh well...

S*** Sneakerheads Say (MILDLY AMUSING)

This could have been a lot better but if you are a sneakerhead or know one, you might find this a little funny. The main issue is they used two super nerds to make this and they just don't seem believable as sneakerheads. I'm sure there are plenty of hipster dorks that are into shoes as much as other people but it seems like that might be more of an NYC thing. I'd like to see a newer version of this with some people I actually recognize as sneakerheads like dudes who play basketball and listen to Hip Hop. That's a true sneakerhead to me but obviously the game has been diversified over the years so maybe I am just dating myself...

Air Jordan 2012 Launch Event Recap (COOL)

This is a cool interview with the Sneaker God, Tinker Hatfield from the Air Jordan 2012 Launch Event. I would love to be a part of something like this and get to ball in the new Jordans while playing some hoops but I live on the wrong coast. Oh well. I wasn't too sure about the 2012's at first but they are definitely growing on me. I like the versatility and all of the ways you can customize them to suit your game and style. Very cool.

Ray Allen's "MLK" Air Jordan 12 PE (DOPE)

Although the C's ended up losing to the Thunder last night, it was still a good game and much closer than I expected.  The Celtics also paid a nice tribute and thanks to Kendrick Perkins on the JumboTron coming out of a timeout in which he waived to the crowd and he got a standing ovation.  It was very cool to see in person and it might have gotten a little dusty in the Garden for a few seconds.

After the nice intro for Perkins, the first thing I noticed from up in the balcony was the kicks on Ray Allen's feet.  He was rocking a never before seen Black and Gold PE colorway of the Air Jordan 12 for MLK Day.  I feel like these pictures don't do them justice because they looked better in person, even from a distance.  They were basically glowing on his feet as he ran around.  So dope!

Jordan: This is Flight (NEW D. WADE COMMERCIAL)

Nice!  Jordan Brand is finally back to making some dope commercials.  I'm definitely feeling this one.  Cool concept and awesome execution.  The YouTube description says it best:

The game's most memorable plays often coincide with brilliant acts of flight. In that moment of calm before takeoff, Dwyane Wade shows us what it feels like to be airborne in the Jordan Fly Wade 2.

Custom Air Jordan 6 “True Blue” by El Cappy (DOPE 3X)

Here's a pic of some ridiculously hot custom Air Jordan 6's made to mimic the Air Jordan 3 "True Blue" colorway. SO SICK!!! I would love to see Jordan Brand make these an actual retro because I would cop them in a second and I know a lot of other Jordan heads would do the same. They should considering hiring some of these customizers as actual designers because they make better colorways than half the shit they've been putting out lately! If you want to see more pics, head over to KicksOnFire.com.

Behind the Scenes at Melo's M8 NYC Flight Event (AWESOME LIGHT SHOW OVER THE HUDSON RIVER)

I've been hearing about this video for a few days now but I kept forgetting to watch it until just now.  I wish I had seen it earlier because this is ridiculously cool.  This has to be one of, if not the best shoe promos ever done.  I'm not a fan of most of the Melo signature Jordan Brand shoes but this definitely got me a little excited for the M8 for about a half a second.  Too bad the shoe is pretty hideous once you get a better look at it.

Here's the summary from the video with a link to the official site:

Nike MAG | The Full Story

I meant to throw this up a couple of weeks ago when they hype around the Nike MAG was at it's peak but I got caught up and forgot about it until now. Better late than never, I guess. This is a great behind the scenes look at how the shoe was created for Back II The Future 2, as well as how the 2011 version was created for the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Good stuff!

Back For The Future - Nike Mag Auction Details (FINALLY!)

Damn!  This just keeps getting better!  Now we have Kevin Durant and Bill Hader promoting the Nike Mag?!?!  Even Chirstopher Lloyd shows up as Doc Brown in this one even though he hasn't been able to find a cure for old age in his time travels.  Dude looks like the Crypt Keeper now.  What the hell happened dude?

Anyway, more details have finally come out about the Nike Mag after the recent surge of Back 2 The Future videos over the past few days.  100 pairs of the Nike Air Mag will be auctioned off on eBay for the next 9 days (the auction started yesterday, September 8th). All of the net proceeds will go directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.  Very cool.

The auctions are already running at $4K plus for each shoe so good luck getting a pair if you don't have at least $5-$10K sitting around for a rainy day.  I wish I was rich because I would love to get a pair but I guess it wasn't meant to be.  Hopefully a lot of athletes and rich folk get involved so they can raise some serious money for the foundation because regular people just aren't going to be able to play in this arena.

It's too bad they couldn't release a slightly cheaper version (maybe without the lights?) as a general release so they could raise even more money.  I'm pretty sure there are thousands of people out there like me who would be willing to pay $250-$500 for a pair of these historic kicks.  Based on the buzz this shoe and auction is currently getting, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to do that down the road.  Maybe we will see a general release in 2015?!!?  Keep your fingers crossed.

Kanye West & Jay-Z - "Otis" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

DOPE!  Now that's how you do it.  Simple but effective.  I love that Jay and Yeezy chop the top of a $500K Maybach like it ain't no thang.  Ridiculous. They also brought the heat on their feet.  Jay rocked the Air Jordan 1 Banned while Kanye was sporting the Air Jordan VI Black/Infrared joints that he wears on a regular basis.

Air Max 90 Burger (TASTY)

WOW!  Now that's how you make an f'n burger right there.  I don't even think I could eat this thing because it's such a work of art.  Actually, who am I kidding.  Not only is this awesome looking but it looks tasty as hell.  I think I would probably tear into this thing after taking 100 different pictures.

I know they didn't have many choices but I'm not sure I'm a fan of the ketchup air max unit in the sole. You gotta have the ketchup inside or at least closer to the meet.  Having it sit on the table is no bueno.  Still dope though!

Nike Blog – This is a Nike Air Max 90 made out of a hamburger. Created by Swedish designer Olle Hemmendorff, it features a sesame baguette, beef patties and tomatoes and pickles on the inside, a Swoosh cut out of cheese and an air unit drawn with ketchup. Hemmendorff decided on the hamburger to create the shoe because he wanted to use “the most powerful, most durable, and most delicious material known to man.” Via delish.com

Orioles Pitcher Jeremy Guthrie Has a Sneaker Vault in his House (SICK)

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
So sick!  I wish I had a few million dollars to throw around like the Orioles Jeremy Guthrie because I NEED a sneaker vault like this.  Right now, I have a small sneaker closet but it's a little cramped and certainly not this cool.  It's pretty cool to have an awesome walk in closet dedicated to just your sneaker collection but it's even better when you can use an actual bank vault door to secure it.  Nasty!  He's got some nice kicks and a great presentation.  I am ridiculously jealous...

Invitation to the ShoeZeum (FINALLY)

Ah!  Now it all makes sense.  I was wondering why I couldn't find out how to visit the ShoeZeum. Now I know the opportunity wasn't available.  Now the owner is offering up a tour of this masterpiece through an auction on eBay.  I know I said I would pay a decent amount to see this place but I'm not paying $200+ which is what the current bid is.  I'm all set with that.

I think this guy is missing out on a huge opportunity to make money off of sneakerheads though.  If he opened it up like a real museum, he could charge about $20 a head and make some nice money.  We will have to wait and see if he ever does that.  I'll just stick to watching the videos for now.

Click here and here to check out my previous posts on the Shoezeum with some more vids.  Check out eBay for the auction.

Terrence J From BET's 106 & Park Shows His Dressing Room Full of Kicks (JEALOUS)

Damn. Life is good when you are famous and it looks like it's even better when you host a daily show on BET. You always get hooked up with the latest and greatest gear and kicks for free and you also get to rock it all weeks in advance. I am ridiculously jealous. Terrence J from 106 & Park takes you for a trip around his dressing room in the video above to show you his ridiculous collection that he has accumulated.

I was hoping I could get some hookups by doing this blog but I'm still waiting. If any of the sneaker companies want to hook me up, I'm fully ready to whore myself out for some free product. Your reviews will be glowing and I will promote this shit our of your products on a regular basis. Hit me up!!!

A Close Look at the Nike Air Jordan VII "Year of the Rabbit" & Air Jordan V Midnight Navy-Varsity Red (SNEAKGEEKZ)

Here's an up close look at the upcoming Air Jordan VII "Year of The Rabbit" and Air Jordan 5 White/Midnight Navy-Varsity Red from SneakGeekz.com. This dude always gets the heat early. I am defintiely jealous.

The Air Jordan VII "Year of The Rabbit" is obviously a slight variation of the original "Hare" Jordans so it will certainly be in high demand. These will drop on May 7th and will retail for $150.
Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

The Air Jordan 5 White/Midnight Navy-Varsity Red also has a very similar look to the original White/Black-Varsity Reds from back in the day but they switch out a dark navy blue for the black and also add some patent leather on the toe and heel. I'm not sure how I feel about the patent leather, especially on a mostly all white shoe but I will have to see them up close before I make a final decision to cop. I might have to get them just because they are so similar to the original. I have a pair but they are a little small and wicked beat. Time to re-up. These are set to release on July 2nd and would be a perfect shoe to rock at a 4th of July party. I would assume these will retail for around $150.

Nike x Foot Locker x Cool Kids "Get Fresh Air" Commercial (DOPE)

There's lots of heat in this video from both the music and sneaker side of things. Foot Locker presents this dope video with Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, DeSean Jackson and a special guest apperance by Ken Griffey Jr. in the kitchen. The Cool Kids also provide the soundtrack with some fresh new music.

I'm kind of feeling the Sesame Street type vibe with the live action and animation mixed together. That shit was tight!

Wiz Khalifa Talks About Jordans & Curren$y's Jordan Collection (PLUS AIR JORDAN TRUE BLUE III's)

Here's a quick video of Wiz Khalifa talking about his newfound love for the sneaker game and how Curren$y put him on to Jordans. This ended up being a perfect transition for the Air Jordan III "True Blues" that he mentioned since I've been meaning to do a post on them for the past few weeks.

If you didn't know already, the True Blues will be retro'd stateside on June 4, 2011 for $150.  This is awesome news for any sneakerhead that was severely disappointed when these dropped as a UK only release last year.  These are definitely one of the hottest and most sought after Air Jordan 3's so be prepared to either wait in line or order a pair ahead of time or you might be shit out of luck.  I don't even care if I have to pay a premium, I am getting these joints.  Definitely one of my favorites although almost all of the III's are hot as shit.

Air Jordan Retro I-XXII Stop Motion Video Using CDP's (DOPE)

"AIR JORDAN RETRO I-XXII STOP MOTION" from Michael Angeles on Vimeo.

I basically want every single shoe you see in here. A lot of people like the crazy colorways but I'm a big fan of the originals that were supposed to match Jordan's Bulls uniform. White/Black and Red is all I need to keep me happy. I am jealous as shit of this collection that was made up of all of the Countdown Packs (CDP) from I-XXII that came out a couple of years ago.  I was able to score the AJ III & XX CDP but if I had the money, I would have got them all like this dude.

Since we're on the topic of Jordan's, I thought I would hit you off with another video that I found randomly. There's nothing crazy going on here but I always like to see a fellow sneakerhead's collection and how they stock their shit. This video is from NikeTalk.com's Mr_V_Neck. He's got some heat in there so it's worth a look.

Nike Air Max Penny 1 “Orlando” Retro (DOPENESS)

One of my favorite non-Jordan retros drops tomorrow in the form of the Nike Air Max Penny 1 "Orlando".  I've missed out every retro of this shoe over the past few years for one reason or another (usually it was because my dough was low) but I'm not letting the opportunity pass me by this time around.  Best believe these will be copped and in my closet by tomorrow afternoon at the latest.

This shoe looks good in almost every colorway but nothing can mess with the original Black/Varsity Royal-White colorway that you see here.  Penny Hardaway made these famous back in 1996 when he was at his peak in popularity playing with Shaq on the Orlando Magic.  He also had a ton of classic commercials starring Chris Rock as Lil Penny.  Whatever happened to good sneaker commercials like this?

Here's a few more detailed pics of this classic.  These will be available for only $125 tomorrow in most of your local sneaker spots.  Actually, it looks like it's already available online at FootLocker.com, Eastbay.com, etc.  Nice!  I can't wait to lace these up...

Another Look at the Shoezeum Warehouse (RIDICULOUS)

Here's a new video highlighting some of the pure awesomeness of the Shoezeum.  I posted a bunch of videos for you a couple of weeks ago and had trouble typing it up because I was too busy wiping the drool off of my keyboard.  Place is ridiculous and the inventory is off the charts.  Shit ain't fair!  Can someone please tell me where the hell this place is?!?!  I would literally pay $100 just to take a tour and snap some quality pics.  It's a sneakerheads heaven...

UPDATE: SneakerFreaker.com just posted a ton of pictures of the Shoezeum's Air Jordan collection. I'm still wiping up all of the drool from my keyboard. So sick!
