NBA 2K14 Next-Gen "OMG" Trailer (SICK GRAPHICS)

Wow!  NBA 2K14 for the next-gen consoles looks ridiculous!!!  I always thought it would be difficult to improve on the graphics and gameplay of the current sports titles but NBA 2K14 for the XBox One & Playstation 4 looks like it is going to prove me wrong.

It literally looks like you are watching a live game and the simulated moves and gestures of the players are dead on.  I wanted to hold out on getting a new console to let them work out the problems that new consoles always seem to have but I don't know if I can wait with games looking like this.

NBA 2K14 - Next Gen Reveal (RIDICULOUSLY REALISTIC)

Wow.  I can't get over how realistic NBA 2K14 already looks and it's just in the alpha stage.  2K Sports is not messing around with the graphics for the PlayStation 4.  I can't imagine games being able to get much realer than this.

They might have some work to do on the mouth matching up with the speech and LeBron looks like he has the mouth of a lion but I'm pretty sure they will get it close to perfect by the time this comes out next year.  I will still probably hold off on the new PS4 for at least a year or so but seeing how awesome some these games already look, I might have to rethink that.

First Look at EA Sports Ignite Engine for the XBox One (Madden, FIFA, NBA Live and UFC)

If you're a gamer, you've probably already heard about Microsoft's announcement of their new console, the XBox One set to release this year.  I probably won't buy one for a few years since I am still happy with my XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 but these videos from EA Sports and their new Ignite Sports Engine are certainly getting me interested.

I think it's safe to say that we are officially playing with real people on these games if the game play looks anywhere close to this.  You almost can't tell the difference between real and game video since it looks so realistic.  If someone walked into the room and didn't know you were playing a game, they would think you were just watching a live event.  Crazy shit!

Jay-Z Named Executive Producer of NBA 2K13 (NICE!)

NBA 2K13 already sounds like it's stacking up to be one of my favorite games of all time and I barely know a thing about it other than from what's in this video. All I know is that it's got my favorite rapper, Jay-Z, I'm assuming there will be a heavy feature of my favorite basketball player, Michael Jordan based on what they've done the past few years and I'm sure the gameplay and graphics will be even better than 2K12 even though it's almost impossible to improve on that. What I'm trying to say in my babbling is that I'm really looking forward to this damn game!

Just to fill you in with a few more details, Jay-Z has been tapped to be the Executive Producer for NBA 2K13. Jay-Z will oversee the soundtrack and I'm sure it will have a ton of his own music, sprinkled with other Rocafella and Def Jam artists and maybe a few others. I'm sure he won't have to do much real work and they are really just using his name as a way to help with sales but I can't blame him or EA Sports for agreeing to it. I'm sure it will help sell more games which is the main goal. I'm looking forward to hearing more...

Grand Theft Auto V Trailer (DOPE)

There's been so many sick games dropping lately.  I don't know if I can keep up.  I just don't have enough time in my day to play all of them so I have to be selective.  Based on this trailer, it looks like Grand Theft Auto V has a chance of making it's way into the rotation.  This looks so sick!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - "The Vet & The n00b" (SICK)

You've probably already seen this new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 commercial by now but I thought I would throw it up because I can't get over how f'n awesome it is.  At first I thought it was a trailer for a real movie because of the Sam Worthington and Jonah Hill appearances.

Actually, they probably should make this into a movie considering it would be better than most of the crap they put out these days.  Also, I didn't even notice Dwight Howard was in the commercial until I saw it again last night.  Just a classic commercial all around.  I don't usually play first person shooter games because I suck at them and I would definitely be the n00b but after watching this, I'm certainly considering it...

NBA 2K12 - Legends Showcase DLC Teaser (COOL)

If you already own NBA 2K12 then you are probably aware of the Legends Showcase add-on/download that will available very soon.  For those that don't own the game, first off, WTF are you waiting for?  This is probably the best sports game of 2011, at least in my opinion.  Go cop that ish!

But if you were sitting on the fence for some reason, this should probably put you over the top if you're an NBA fan.  Not only will you be able to play key games with the top legends that are already included in the game such as Dr. J, Jordan, Bird, Magic and Kareem but you will now be able to play 21, Horse, One on One, Two on Two and more with more legends and past all-stars.  The video above gives you a brief hint of what you can do with the new download.  I think it's only $10 so it definitely seems worth it to me.  I'll definitely be downloading that as soon as it's available.

NBA 2K12 - All Default NIKE ID & Foot Locker Shoe Options for My Player (SICK)

I've finally had a chance to dig into NBA 2K12's My Player option and I have to say, it's pretty awesome.  If you played NBA 2K11, it is very similar in feel but they add many more details this time around, including a lot more shoe options.  There are a bunch of default selections available from Jordan, Adidas, Converse, Reebok & Nike and you can unlock even more as you play the game.

My favorite non-Jordan options were the Converse Chuck Taylor, Converse Weapon and Reebok Question.  I'm sure I'll be lacing my player with all of those joints at some point in his career.  The Jordan Brand sponsorship is back as well.  If you play well enough to get noticed by MJ, he might sign you to the brand and give you your own shoe. Dopeness.

NBA 2K12 Promo - The Great Debate w/ Brian Wilson (HE LOVES THE CELTICS)

This is pretty awesome.  I've never been a huge fan of the San Francisco Giants' Brian Wilson and his weirdo antics but sometimes he can be pretty funny and this is one of those times.  Not only does he argue the '86 Celtics were the best team of all time but he also put on a Bird wig, nut hug shorts and some classic Celtics garb to represent to the fullest.  I wasn't expecting that but I certainly respect it.

You also get a nice look at some of the highlights from NBA 2K12 at the end of the video.  If you haven't picked this up yet, I suggest you get it ASAP.  It plays very similar to 2K11 so there weren't any huge updates there but it was almost perfect last year anyway, so I'm glad they didn't mess with it too much.  What they did do was offer the ability to play with some of the greatest teams and players in NBA history and let you see who would be the greatest team of all time.  I've been addicted to it ever since I got it last week and I don't see myself stopping any time soon.  Dopeness.

Hope Solo and Alex Morgan Shake Their Asses to Promote Some Lame Wii Game (YUM)

It might not be as sexy as some might hope but I'll take these two jumping up and down and shaking their asses all around any day of the week even if it's G rated.  I love both of these chicks almost equally but I think I would have to go with Alex Morgan if I had a gun to my head to make a choice.   Either way, you wouldn't be making a bad decision.  Smokes!!!

NBA 2K12 Promo - "Jordan Invitation" (6 RINGS)

My man Michael Jordan breaks it down in this new spot for the new NBA 2K12 video game that will be dropping later this fall.  My favorite line was when he said "'98 Bulls.  No pushoff."  Nuff said!  HA HA.

Jordan, Magic and Bird in NBA 2K12 Preview (SICK)

I've been busy as hell all week with work so I haven't been able to post anything but I thought I would at least hit you off with something cool I stumbled upon last night.  Michael Jordan is back in NBA 2K12 and this time he's bringing along all of the greats like Dr. J, Kareem, Magic and Bird among others.  MJ, Bird and Magic will all get their own covers as well.

It's looking more and more like there won't be an NBA season next year so if I am going to be getting my fix via video games, I might as well have lots of options from the past and present.  I hope they don't tweak the game too much when compared to 2K11 because that game was probably the best basketball game I've ever played.  I'm still playing it at least once a week and not getting sick of it.  So dope.

Blake Griffin Dunks Over a Tiger (RAGE COMMERCIAL)

I had never heard of the game RAGE until now so I guess this little commercial featuring Blake Griffin did its job.  I literally only watched it because of him but now I know about the game and could possibly consider purchasing it.  That's what you call "expanding your audience".  Well played, id Software.

The video itself wasn't even that funny but it was pretty cool to see Blake Griffin dunk over a tiger.  Now THAT is what he should have done during the dunk contest.  That car jump was weak...

Marshawn Lynch's Insane Touchdown...Super Mario Bros. Style (FUNNY)

Here's another remix of Marshawn Lynch's awesome TD run from this past weekend against the Saints.  I showed you the Tecmo Bowl remix on Monday and now we have the Super Mario Bros. remix

It would have been even better if someone could have added in an image of the magic mushroom that helped him go Beast Mode and turned the players into turtles but the sound effects are certainly good enough.  I would have also added the flag pole in the end zone and a 1-Up sound effect as he scored but that's just me. Good shit.

Marshawn Lynch's 67 Yard TD Run vs. Saints...According to Tecmo Bowl (AWESOME)

If you saw Marshawn Lynch's 67 Yard TD Run against the Saints on Saturday then you probably thought to yourself "Damn!  That run was straight out of a video game!"  Dude was smashing and knocking over the defense like he was Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl with that ridiculous straight arm.  Luckily, some internet nerd was hard at work on Sunday reenacting this nasty run in an updated version of the classic NES game, Tecmo Bowl.  Awesome!

Here is the real replay in case you haven't seen the highlights yet.  BEAST!!!

Madden NFL 11: Greg Jennings Scores Touchdown with a Broken Leg (FUNNY ISH)

I don't know why but this video cracked me up.  It's kind of funny that Jennings was even allowed to play with a broken leg and was still able to score a touchdown but the dude who made the video and doing the commentary is funny as shit.

I can't really tell if that's his real voice and lisp but I assume it is because his XBox Live game was GUMBYBOUTDATLIF.  I have no idea what that means but the Gumby reference is dead on.  Funny shit.

"He's Back" - Kobe's 2K11 Commercial About Michael Jordan (COOL)

As much as I usually can't stand Kobe, I have to admit that I like what he did with this new NBA 2K11 commercial.  He basically bowed down to MJ and give him his props as the G.O.A.T. without actually saying the words.  I can respect that.

He even added him to the Lakers in the game!  I can't really handle that image.  That's just too weird. Imagine those two playing together though?  I'm not sure there would be enough shots to go around to keep everyone happy but I certainly think they would be a more lethal combination than that of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.  That would be a sick matchup though, now that I think about it.  I just might have to make it happen in 2K11 tonight.

By the way, if you are a basketball fan or like sports games, you need to pick this shit up immediately!  This is one of the best games I've ever played and certainly the best basketball game of all time.  You can play in all of MJ's classic games like when he dropped 63 on the Celtics in the playoffs in 1986 or when he had 6 three pointers in the first half of the NBA Finals against the Blazers.  I would have bought th game but it'se MJ features as a standalone game if it was available but it turns out that it's just one of the many awesome features included in NBA 2K11.  Just check out these graphics below.  That looks like a real game!  So nasty!

NBA Jam Preview w/ J. Cole, 9th Wonder, Kevin Durant, Tyreke Evans and More (IN STORES NOW)

NBA Jam is back and is officially in stores now.  I'll admit, I'm pretty pumped up about this.  NBA Jam was by far one of my favorite games growing up and it's nice to see it get a badly needed update with new players and graphics.  The game still looks like it has that same look and feel as the original which is great.  The simplicity of the game is what makes it so much fun.

I like that they added some Hip Hop stars to the mix in the game.  I don't know if you can pick them right away or if you need to put in a password like you had to back in the day to get players like Bill Clinton or NBA mascots but either way, it's a nice little twist and update.  The video above features Kevin Durant, Tyreke, Steph Curry, Brandon Jennings, J. Cole and 9th Wonder.

I thought I would have to pick this up for the Wii, which I still might do but the game will also be available for the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 soon.  Good ish.

NBA 2K11 - MJ's Greatest Moments (SICK)

I cannot wait to get NBA 2K11. This game looks ridiculous!  I bought 2K10 over NBA Live for the first time last season and I thought it was one of the best hoops games I've ever played. I was thinking about going back to NBA Live this year since I heard they did a complete revamp that was supposed to be sick but I don't think I can do that now that I've seen some of the new Michael Jordan feature in 2K11. This looks sick!

In case you couldn't figure it out, the video features Josh Smith, Derick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Rajon Rondo and Derrick Rose.  NBA 2K11 is available in stores everywhere 10/5/2010. You can pre-order it here now: http://bit.ly/NBA2K11preorder.

BMW iPad Holder for Back Seat Viewing (GREAT IDEA)

Photobucket
Oh hell yeah!  This is such a good idea.  I kind of saw this coming when the iPad was first released.  It's the perfect portable computer/TV/Entertainment hub and I just knew someone would figure out a way of getting it in the car sooner than later. There have been a few DIY versions of the iPad mount since it was first announced earlier this year and there was even a custom in-dash mount created that I blogged about a few months ago but now it is official with the BMW version.

Obviously almost everyone would love to have a BMW which would allow you to order this special mount but that's just not feasible for most of us common folk.  So if you want some fairly cheap alternatives, just do a quick Google search for iPad Holder, Car Mount or Cradle and you are bound to find a few options.  I found a few ranging from $40, $75 and $150 which is a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a new BMW.
Photobucket
Best believe that I will be getting myself one of these mounts once I actually purchase an iPad.  I already figured out a ghetto work around to get my iPhone 3G on my dash using one of those suction cup flexible arms so I can watch live TV using the SlinBox app or movies using the NetFlix app.  Relax!  I don't really watch the screen while I'm driving.  I just listen and wait until I get to a red light or stop sign to catch a quick peak.  Honestly...

I thought the iPhone set up was the best I could do but now I can literally get a 9" screen in the ride using the iPad 3G.  That would be insane!  I don't think I have the balls to mount it on my dash like it was shown in a few of those links because I don't feel like getting arrested.  However, I will definitely put it in the backseat in anticipation of the little one on the way growing up to be an easily distracted toddler needing some kind of visual stimulation on long road trips.

I'm all about spending a few hundred bucks for one of these mounts if it keeps the little one quiet for a long period of time.  It's such a better alternative than spending $1-$2K on one of those DVD flip down units that can only show movies and nothing else. I guarantee you are going to see more and more iPads in cars as this concept catches on.  That should happen soon and I plan on being one of the early adopters.
