adidas Originals - 'The House of Mutombo' Animated Video (PURE AWESOMENESS)

This promo for the adidas Mutombo shoe is awesome on so many levels.  The crude animation is great but the narration by Mutombo with his awesome accent and deep ass voice takes it to the next level.  I actually think this is perfect, although I'd love to see the long form version like a movie that goes through all of Dikembe's life highlights, including a party where he yells out "Who wants to sex Mutombo?!?!".  Nice work, adidas.

Here's an awesome highlight video of Dikembe's classic blocks and finger wags which also includes an awesome narration by the man himself.  I can't get enough of his voice and accent.

Inside Stephen Jackson's Sneaker Closet (BOXES FULL OF J's)

So this is what it's like to be a Jordan Brand athlete?  DAMN!  I am jealous as shit.  That is just nasty.  Stephen Jackson's closest is nicely stocked and just when you think he's done, you get a look at the rest of his collection in the basement which is just out of control.

How awesome would it be to have Jordan send you multiple boxes of J's all at the same time and way before their release date?  Heat for days!  I guess the closest I'll ever get to this is being part of the Jordan Brand team is with my player in NBA 2K13.  Oh well...

Toyota Corolla Commercial: Shoes with Pandora (NICE)

I just saw this commercial for the first time last night. Definitely right up my alley. That is exactly what I do every morning when I'm trying to match up my kicks to my outfit. Gotta stay fresh! The old lady at the end really pulled it all together too. Great commercial...

Kenny Powers MFCEO Delivers K-Swiss Blades Keynote (STEVE JOBS STYLE)

Awesome. K-Swiss and Kenny Powers crushed this promo video, as usual. They did a little spoof on Steve Jobs (too soon?), MTV Cribs and an interview with Bruce Lee. WTF?!?! It's pretty ballsy for a fairly conservative company like them to get this crazy but sometimes you gotta take it to the next level to compete with the big boys. Classic ish.

S*** Sneakerheads Say (MILDLY AMUSING)

This could have been a lot better but if you are a sneakerhead or know one, you might find this a little funny. The main issue is they used two super nerds to make this and they just don't seem believable as sneakerheads. I'm sure there are plenty of hipster dorks that are into shoes as much as other people but it seems like that might be more of an NYC thing. I'd like to see a newer version of this with some people I actually recognize as sneakerheads like dudes who play basketball and listen to Hip Hop. That's a true sneakerhead to me but obviously the game has been diversified over the years so maybe I am just dating myself...

Air Jordan 2012 Launch Event Recap (COOL)

This is a cool interview with the Sneaker God, Tinker Hatfield from the Air Jordan 2012 Launch Event. I would love to be a part of something like this and get to ball in the new Jordans while playing some hoops but I live on the wrong coast. Oh well. I wasn't too sure about the 2012's at first but they are definitely growing on me. I like the versatility and all of the ways you can customize them to suit your game and style. Very cool.

Ray Allen's "MLK" Air Jordan 12 PE (DOPE)

Although the C's ended up losing to the Thunder last night, it was still a good game and much closer than I expected.  The Celtics also paid a nice tribute and thanks to Kendrick Perkins on the JumboTron coming out of a timeout in which he waived to the crowd and he got a standing ovation.  It was very cool to see in person and it might have gotten a little dusty in the Garden for a few seconds.

After the nice intro for Perkins, the first thing I noticed from up in the balcony was the kicks on Ray Allen's feet.  He was rocking a never before seen Black and Gold PE colorway of the Air Jordan 12 for MLK Day.  I feel like these pictures don't do them justice because they looked better in person, even from a distance.  They were basically glowing on his feet as he ran around.  So dope!

New Foot Locker "Tough Choices" Commercials (FUNNY)

Some people might get fired up by these new Foot Locker commercials since they take somewhat serious topics and flip them for commercial purposes but those people are losers so whatever.  I thought they were kind of clever and funny and that's all that really matters.

When your parent's talk to you about tough choices, talk to them about Foot Locker. Tell them what you want for Christmas that will make the tough conversations so much easier.

Jordan: This is Flight (NEW D. WADE COMMERCIAL)

Nice!  Jordan Brand is finally back to making some dope commercials.  I'm definitely feeling this one.  Cool concept and awesome execution.  The YouTube description says it best:

The game's most memorable plays often coincide with brilliant acts of flight. In that moment of calm before takeoff, Dwyane Wade shows us what it feels like to be airborne in the Jordan Fly Wade 2.

Custom Air Jordan 6 “True Blue” by El Cappy (DOPE 3X)

Here's a pic of some ridiculously hot custom Air Jordan 6's made to mimic the Air Jordan 3 "True Blue" colorway. SO SICK!!! I would love to see Jordan Brand make these an actual retro because I would cop them in a second and I know a lot of other Jordan heads would do the same. They should considering hiring some of these customizers as actual designers because they make better colorways than half the shit they've been putting out lately! If you want to see more pics, head over to KicksOnFire.com.

Air Jordan XI Concord - Dj RyB's Early Delivery

Photobucket
Yessir.  These are pictures of my new Air Jordan XI Concords that I was lucky enough to cop almost two months before their official release date of December 23rd, 2011.  I've had them for a few weeks now but I kept forgetting to upload the picks of the initial unboxing.  I finally stepped my game up and decided to post them up for your viewing and drooling pleasure.
Photobucket
I was able to cop a pair of the Space Jams when they released back in 2009 but my sneaker collection didn't feel complete until I had the Concords in my hands.  I actually had a chance to buy these when they originally released back in 1996 but I wasn't sure about the patent leather and decided to pass.
Photobucket
After a few months went by, the look grew on me but it was too late so I settled for a pair of the Air Jordan XI IE's with the grey snake skin.  I've been kicking myself ever since and was never able to get a pair due to either a lack of funds or just not having the ability to stand in line forever.  I may have paid a premium for the Concords this time around but it was well worth it since I've got them before most people and I didn't have to camp out for them.  I am now happier than a pig in shit.

NeverWet Spray Protects and Shields Sneakers Like Nothing Else on Earth (AWESOME)

If you're a sneakerhead like me, you're always looking for new and better ways to protect your sneakers from every day life and more specifically, the sneaker killers of dirt, grime, grease and water.  I have probably bought 20 different sneaker protectors over the years and although they work decently, they never seem to fully protect your sneakers from the major accidents, scuffs and liquids that surround you every day.  How many times have you or someone around you dropped something like ketchup or fruit punch on your kicks and you immediately got heated because you knew your kicks would never be the same?  It's one of the most depressing moments in a sneakerhead's life.

With Ross Nanotechnology's NeverWet superhydrophobic spray-on coating, it seems like you will never need to worry about these mishaps ever again. Just look at this madness in the video. Chocolate syrup just deflects off of a white canvas shoe like it was made of glass. Unreal. I know I'll be copping this product IMMEDIATELY once it's available. I'll be sure to keep this post updated as soon as I find out when and where it's available.

Behind the Scenes at Melo's M8 NYC Flight Event (AWESOME LIGHT SHOW OVER THE HUDSON RIVER)

I've been hearing about this video for a few days now but I kept forgetting to watch it until just now.  I wish I had seen it earlier because this is ridiculously cool.  This has to be one of, if not the best shoe promos ever done.  I'm not a fan of most of the Melo signature Jordan Brand shoes but this definitely got me a little excited for the M8 for about a half a second.  Too bad the shoe is pretty hideous once you get a better look at it.

Here's the summary from the video with a link to the official site:

Nike MAG | The Full Story

I meant to throw this up a couple of weeks ago when they hype around the Nike MAG was at it's peak but I got caught up and forgot about it until now. Better late than never, I guess. This is a great behind the scenes look at how the shoe was created for Back II The Future 2, as well as how the 2011 version was created for the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Good stuff!

Back For The Future - Nike Mag Auction Details (FINALLY!)

Damn!  This just keeps getting better!  Now we have Kevin Durant and Bill Hader promoting the Nike Mag?!?!  Even Chirstopher Lloyd shows up as Doc Brown in this one even though he hasn't been able to find a cure for old age in his time travels.  Dude looks like the Crypt Keeper now.  What the hell happened dude?

Anyway, more details have finally come out about the Nike Mag after the recent surge of Back 2 The Future videos over the past few days.  100 pairs of the Nike Air Mag will be auctioned off on eBay for the next 9 days (the auction started yesterday, September 8th). All of the net proceeds will go directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.  Very cool.

The auctions are already running at $4K plus for each shoe so good luck getting a pair if you don't have at least $5-$10K sitting around for a rainy day.  I wish I was rich because I would love to get a pair but I guess it wasn't meant to be.  Hopefully a lot of athletes and rich folk get involved so they can raise some serious money for the foundation because regular people just aren't going to be able to play in this arena.

It's too bad they couldn't release a slightly cheaper version (maybe without the lights?) as a general release so they could raise even more money.  I'm pretty sure there are thousands of people out there like me who would be willing to pay $250-$500 for a pair of these historic kicks.  Based on the buzz this shoe and auction is currently getting, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to do that down the road.  Maybe we will see a general release in 2015?!!?  Keep your fingers crossed.

Is the Nike Air Mag On Its Way? (MARTY McFLY's KICKS FROM BACK 2 THE FUTURE 2)

Wow.  I can't believe this is actually happening.  To quote a YouTube commenter "Shit just got real, son."  Above is a video of what is supposed to be Marty McFly's closet or something?  Details are still sparse but either way, this is a great sign of things to come.  The YouTube account that posted this video is called Awesome.

If you're a sneakerhead and grew up in the 80's obsessing over the movie Back 2 The Future 2 like myself then you have been craving for Marty McFly's kicks the Nike Air Mag since the first time you saw him put them on and activate the automatic laces.  Shit was intense!  I don't know if it was Nike's idea or not but whoever decided to create those shoes for the movie was a genius.  There have been petitions by sneakerheads worldwide for years but no one thought Nike would actually ever make them.  I imagine these will be impossible to get when they do release and will probably cost something ridiculous like $500 or more but I am going to do my best to get a pair of these gems. So dope.

Swizz Beatz Feat. Alicia Keys "International Party" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I'm not sure how I feel about this new Swizz Beatz joint yet but I think it's starting to grow on me.  I liked it in a small snippet in the new Reebok "Reethym of Lite" commercial but I don't know if it works as a full song.  It's kind of futuristic crazy shit that might not be for everyone but it's definitely pretty cool.

I'm also a big fan of the Reebok Kamikaze III that Swizzy is promoting so that always helps as well.  I finally saw these in person the other day at Champs Sports and they are nice quality.  I wasn't sure how they would turn out but I always knew they had potential.  I think I might have to pick up a pair now.  I just can't decide on the color.

Kanye West & Jay-Z - "Otis" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

DOPE!  Now that's how you do it.  Simple but effective.  I love that Jay and Yeezy chop the top of a $500K Maybach like it ain't no thang.  Ridiculous. They also brought the heat on their feet.  Jay rocked the Air Jordan 1 Banned while Kanye was sporting the Air Jordan VI Black/Infrared joints that he wears on a regular basis.

Air Max 90 Burger (TASTY)

WOW!  Now that's how you make an f'n burger right there.  I don't even think I could eat this thing because it's such a work of art.  Actually, who am I kidding.  Not only is this awesome looking but it looks tasty as hell.  I think I would probably tear into this thing after taking 100 different pictures.

I know they didn't have many choices but I'm not sure I'm a fan of the ketchup air max unit in the sole. You gotta have the ketchup inside or at least closer to the meet.  Having it sit on the table is no bueno.  Still dope though!

Nike Blog – This is a Nike Air Max 90 made out of a hamburger. Created by Swedish designer Olle Hemmendorff, it features a sesame baguette, beef patties and tomatoes and pickles on the inside, a Swoosh cut out of cheese and an air unit drawn with ketchup. Hemmendorff decided on the hamburger to create the shoe because he wanted to use “the most powerful, most durable, and most delicious material known to man.” Via delish.com
