Katt Williams Cartoon - "Gangsta Tigers"

Yoooo!!!  Katt Williams might be the funniest dude on the planet right now! He is one of the only people other than Chris Rock that makes me lose my shit every single time I watch one of their stand up routines.  I don't care if I've watched Katt's "Pimp Chronicles" about 1,000 times already.  I will still watch it every damn time it's on HBO and will even pop in the DVD once in awhile.  Dude just cracks me up.

This "Gangsta Tigers" bit is from his new stand-up DVD It's Pimpin' Pimpin' which will be in stores Nov. 11.  These dudes at ClydeTV took the audio and put it to some crude but effective animation.  Gotta love it.

Air Jordan True Flight “Court Blue” - New Jordan Hybrid

Photobucket
Here's a look at the new Air Jordan True Flight "Court Blue" joints that are set to drop on January 17, 2009 for $140 retail.  I think these are pretty hot.  It's a complete toss up with these hybrids though.  Some are really solid and others are just "meh".  There doesn't seem to be any consistency.

I feel like there are a few different kinds of hybrids to consider when you are talking about Jordans these days too.  There are the OG hybrids like the Spiz'ike's or Six Rings that take their design cues only from pieces of multiple Jordan's to create a new style. Then there's the AJ Fusions which combine two completely different Nike shoes with the Air Force One and a particular Air Jordan of choice. Finally, there are the Remix Hybrids like these True Flights or the B'Loyal, B'2Rue or the Jumpan Team Pro that take a basic design of just one Jordan and flip it into something completely new.  I would consider the OG hybrids and Fusions more of a collector's item or for casual rockin' while the Remix Hybrids are more for ballin'.

For the most part, I like these True Flight Jordan's because the majority of the design is based off of the Jordan VII.  I have a serious love for the VII's because they were the first Air Jordan's I ever had in my life and I rocked those hard all season during the 1992 Freshman basketball season.  If my foot hadn't grown, I would still be wearing those on a regular basis if they hadn't disintegrated by now.  Those were some of the most comfortable shoes I ever had.  I wish I could get another pair but I missed the new retro they dropped a few years back and also the 7/16 Countdown Pack in June.  Writing about these is giving me the itch to buy them but I have to hold off or rob a bank to get them.  Maybe the True Flights can serve as a temporary replacement for the near future or until I can find some VII's again:

Best Site of the Week: FailBlog.org

Photobucket
I came across FailBlog.org for the first time last week when people were sending around the link for the "Best Man Fail" and "Chair Fail" videos.  I have to admit, I am completely addicted.  This ish is hysterical!  I could spend at least 2 hours a day on this site.  Just think of it as the funny version of Jay Leno's Headlines segment.  Oh!

Here are a few more classics I found this morning, along with the two previously mentioned Fail videos.  Classic ish:

NBA Highlights and Top 10: Day 1 and 2 of 2008 Season

As you can tell, I can't get enough of the NBA and basketball in general. You can never consume too many videos. Here's a look at some of the hotness that's happened in just the first two days of the season.

Celtics Kicks - Championship Colorways Including Allen's Jordan XI's PE!!!

Photobucket
Looks like I am actually putting up one more post for the day.  This is definitely a new record.  I was able to gather a few pics of the special championship edition colorways that all of the Celtics were rockin' at last night's game. Don't expect to see many or any of these colorways during the season because they may not even be considered uniform legal with all of that gold.  I guess it does match the gold outline of the green numbers and letters on the new uniforms (which was awesome by the way) so it might be OK in the NBA's book.  Who knows really knows. Expect to see more white, green and black color bases as the season continues though.

The most intriguing of the mix to me was the Air Jordan XI PE with the gold patent leather that Ray Allen wore.  Those things were crazy!  I'm not sure I would ever buy those to wear but they would definitely be a unique collector's item:

I already highlighted Garnett's Adidas TS Commander but here are a few in game pics for another look.

Kendrick Perkins was also rockin' some nice gold Adidas but I'm not sure on the style yet. Those look like his standard Adidas Superstar 2G Shell Toe Hi Tops, I think:

Pierce's ugly P2 V's actually look a lot better with the gold highlight for some reason.  I'm still not a fan of the shoe but the green laces really completed the look and made them a little more appealing:

Big Baby Davis probably had the loudest kicks of the night with these gold Nike Hyperdunks.  Those are definitely interesting:

Garnett Adidas Video - "Command & Create" (Part 4)

Yo!  I'm killin' it with the Celtics posts today!  I'm in the freakin' zone right now.  There's just too many good videos, articles and pics to pass up today.

This is a dope, dope, DOPE video from Adidas showing KG meeting up with what I assume is a young high school or AAU team at the Garden to talk with them about being a TEAM and such.  He actually walks with them around the city of Boston to show them what kind of energy and positivity can be produced when you are part of a "Brotherhood" and WIN as a unit.  It's pretty cool seeing the genuine reactions of people around Boston when they have their "Holy Shit" moment and realize that it's really KG shaking their hand or shouting out to them.  Doesn't KG just seem like a really nice dude?  It could be an act but I don't really think so.  Gotta love that guy...

I definitely want to go play some ball or run a few miles now because I am jacked up.  That is motivation right there!

Powe-sterizing Delonte West - The Leon Powe Dunk

That's how you do it big fella!  With authority!!!  Delonte got a nice chunk of Powe's nutsack in his grill after that vicious dunk.  Why did you even try to block that shot D. West?  Nothing but bad things can happen, bro.  Powe is officially a beast down low and you can only hope to contain him.

Nice way to start of the season, Powe!  That is the best dunk of the season so far and already number 1 on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays.  Holla!

Celtics Championship Banner Ceremony Video and Pics

Here's a nice video of the events that took place last night at the Garden.  That was the moment we've all been waiting for over the last 4 months and really, the past 22 years.  The banner raising ceremony, along with the passing out of the championship rings, was a special moment last night for any true Celtics fan.  I remember sitting with my Dad watching all of these banner raising moments in the 80's and it was great to be able to finally do it again.  It's been too long.

As you will see, Pierce got very emotional and let a few tears fly.  I have to admit, it got a little dusty up in Dj RyB's shack as well.  I'm glad Pierce let out his emotions though because he's been through a lot of ups and downs throughout his career in Boston.  He will readily admit that he was on his way out of town before the Allen and Garnett trades actually happened.  He was fed up and almost had enough with this team but his loyalty and patience told him to stick around and it finally paid off in the end.  He will always be the true leader of this Celtics team until he retires.  He showed it again last night when he took over the game when no one else was scoring and he pushed them towards another meaningful win.  Keep doing your thing, Pierce!

Kevin Garnett Adidas TS Commander Signature Shoe

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
If you're a Celtics fan and a Sneakerhead like myself, then you already know that we received a preview of Kevin Garnett's new Adidas signature shoe, the TS Commander, last June during the NBA Finals.  They weren't supposed to be released until this October but Adidas decided to make a limited edition version for KG to wear during the Finals with a picture of the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy on the inside portion of the shoe.  Here are some more deets:

- Only 8 pairs per game produced, each pair size 15, just like KG wears
- Each shoe is adorned with KG's personal tribute to pals Malik Sealy and Kirby Puckett
- 100% of all net proceeds are donated to NBA Cares community partners in the Boston area
- $1017 SRP commemorates the Celtics' drive for Banner #17!

They actually put out another limited run just a few weeks ago in which you could bid on a few more pairs of the Finals version to give you a second chance at that super limited dopeness.

Continuing with the super limited kicks and charity theme that has worked so well, Adidas has now released a signed version of the TS Commander that Garnett wore last night during the banner raising ceremony and game 1 of the '08-'09 NBA season.  Here's the breakdown from Celtics.com:

"Created to commemorate Garnett's first NBA Championship, only 17 pairs of the personalized shoes were made – the same number of Boston Celtics NBA Championships – allowing only a handful of fans to follow in Garnett's footsteps.

The commemorative shoe is white, gold, and green, inspired by team colors and the Larry O'Brien Championship trophy. Featuring a silhouette of Garnett on the side and gold accents throughout, the shoe design comprises Garnett's personal touches including embroidery of his fan-given nickname Champ. The insole includes dates and scores of each 2008 Finals game along with the 2008 Champions logo. The shoes also feature KG's constant tribute to two close friends and mentors, Malik Sealy and Kirby Puckett.

The proceeds from the sale of this shoe will benefit the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, the Boston-based charity committed to providing healthcare, shelter and vital services for children in need."

Below are pics of the new colorway and version that you can bid on right now at Celtics.com.  This version comes complete with KG's autograph as well, which makes it that much more of a collector's item.  All versions and colorways of this shoe are absolute fire and I wish I could afford the steep starting bid price.  I don't exactly have $1,017 laying around but I wish I did.  Click on some ads while you're here so I can afford a pair!  Ha ha.  No seriously...

Nike Air Max P2 V - New Paul Pierce Signature Shoe

Photobucket

Since I'm on the Celtics vibe today I thought I would drop some pics of the new signature Paul Pierce shoe from Nike officially called the Air Max P2 V.  Although Pierce wears these kicks on court, they are not available in adult sizes for some ridiculous reason and can only be purchased in kids sizes.  So you can lace your son/daughter with these kicks but you can't get some on your own.  Weak.

I'm glad this new version isn't available though because it's kind of bunk.  It looks really cheap and even the adult version Pierce wears in the picture below looks really bulky and blocky.  I wouldn't even wear those to ball in outdoors or something.  They look like they would just fall apart.  I think it had some potential with the laser stitching on the ankles but it just ended up looking too generic like one of Nike's cheaper basketball shoes that you would find at Dick's Sporting Goods for like $50 or something.  Wack juice.  I don't understand why Nike would make a signature shoe for an All Star player and not make it available to adults for that extra revenue.  That blows my mind.

Although those are pretty much garbage (even Pierce looks unhappy with them) I would definitely buy a pair of the older style P2's if they were available.  Check out some pics and colorways of the Air Max P2 IV and the Air Max P2 Ultimate from the past few seasons.  Pretty dope in my opinion.
