Wow! NBA 2K14 for the next-gen consoles looks ridiculous!!! I always thought it would be difficult to improve on the graphics and gameplay of the current sports titles but NBA 2K14 for the XBox One & Playstation 4 looks like it is going to prove me wrong.
It literally looks like you are watching a live game and the simulated moves and gestures of the players are dead on. I wanted to hold out on getting a new console to let them work out the problems that new consoles always seem to have but I don't know if I can wait with games looking like this.
NBA 2K13 already sounds like it's stacking up to be one of my favorite games of all time and I barely know a thing about it other than from what's in this video. All I know is that it's got my favorite rapper, Jay-Z, I'm assuming there will be a heavy feature of my favorite basketball player, Michael Jordan based on what they've done the past few years and I'm sure the gameplay and graphics will be even better than 2K12 even though it's almost impossible to improve on that. What I'm trying to say in my babbling is that I'm really looking forward to this damn game!
Just to fill you in with a few more details, Jay-Z has been tapped to be the Executive Producer for NBA 2K13. Jay-Z will oversee the soundtrack and I'm sure it will have a ton of his own music, sprinkled with other Rocafella and Def Jam artists and maybe a few others. I'm sure he won't have to do much real work and they are really just using his name as a way to help with sales but I can't blame him or EA Sports for agreeing to it. I'm sure it will help sell more games which is the main goal. I'm looking forward to hearing more...
There's been so many sick games dropping lately. I don't know if I can keep up. I just don't have enough time in my day to play all of them so I have to be selective. Based on this trailer, it looks like Grand Theft Auto V has a chance of making it's way into the rotation. This looks so sick!
You've probably already seen this new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 commercial by now but I thought I would throw it up because I can't get over how f'n awesome it is. At first I thought it was a trailer for a real movie because of the Sam Worthington and Jonah Hill appearances.
Actually, they probably should make this into a movie considering it would be better than most of the crap they put out these days. Also, I didn't even notice Dwight Howard was in the commercial until I saw it again last night. Just a classic commercial all around. I don't usually play first person shooter games because I suck at them and I would definitely be the n00b but after watching this, I'm certainly considering it...
If you already own NBA 2K12 then you are probably aware of the Legends Showcase add-on/download that will available very soon. For those that don't own the game, first off, WTF are you waiting for? This is probably the best sports game of 2011, at least in my opinion. Go cop that ish!
But if you were sitting on the fence for some reason, this should probably put you over the top if you're an NBA fan. Not only will you be able to play key games with the top legends that are already included in the game such as Dr. J, Jordan, Bird, Magic and Kareem but you will now be able to play 21, Horse, One on One, Two on Two and more with more legends and past all-stars. The video above gives you a brief hint of what you can do with the new download. I think it's only $10 so it definitely seems worth it to me. I'll definitely be downloading that as soon as it's available.
I've finally had a chance to dig into NBA 2K12's My Player option and I have to say, it's pretty awesome. If you played NBA 2K11, it is very similar in feel but they add many more details this time around, including a lot more shoe options. There are a bunch of default selections available from Jordan, Adidas, Converse, Reebok & Nike and you can unlock even more as you play the game.
My favorite non-Jordan options were the Converse Chuck Taylor, Converse Weapon and Reebok Question. I'm sure I'll be lacing my player with all of those joints at some point in his career. The Jordan Brand sponsorship is back as well. If you play well enough to get noticed by MJ, he might sign you to the brand and give you your own shoe. Dopeness.
This is pretty awesome. I've never been a huge fan of the San Francisco Giants' Brian Wilson and his weirdo antics but sometimes he can be pretty funny and this is one of those times. Not only does he argue the '86 Celtics were the best team of all time but he also put on a Bird wig, nut hug shorts and some classic Celtics garb to represent to the fullest. I wasn't expecting that but I certainly respect it.
You also get a nice look at some of the highlights from NBA 2K12 at the end of the video. If you haven't picked this up yet, I suggest you get it ASAP. It plays very similar to 2K11 so there weren't any huge updates there but it was almost perfect last year anyway, so I'm glad they didn't mess with it too much. What they did do was offer the ability to play with some of the greatest teams and players in NBA history and let you see who would be the greatest team of all time. I've been addicted to it ever since I got it last week and I don't see myself stopping any time soon. Dopeness.
My man Michael Jordan breaks it down in this new spot for the new NBA 2K12 video game that will be dropping later this fall. My favorite line was when he said "'98 Bulls. No pushoff." Nuff said! HA HA.
I've been busy as hell all week with work so I haven't been able to post anything but I thought I would at least hit you off with something cool I stumbled upon last night. Michael Jordan is back in NBA 2K12 and this time he's bringing along all of the greats like Dr. J, Kareem, Magic and Bird among others. MJ, Bird and Magic will all get their own covers as well.
It's looking more and more like there won't be an NBA season next year so if I am going to be getting my fix via video games, I might as well have lots of options from the past and present. I hope they don't tweak the game too much when compared to 2K11 because that game was probably the best basketball game I've ever played. I'm still playing it at least once a week and not getting sick of it. So dope.
DIZZAMN!!! That is some serious booty right there! I don't know about you but I am a serious fan of Serena Williams' body. Yes, she is super diesel and could probably beat the shit out of me but she's also got curves for days and there ain't nothing wrong with that. If you are going to promote a tennis game, this is the way to do it. I have no idea who the other chick is but she's pretty hot herself.
This game actually looks pretty damn good. I'll play tennis games once in awhile but haven't bought one in years but Top Spin 4 might be getting my $60 pretty soon. I need a new game and this might be it.
I think these screen shots sealed the deal for me:
I don't know why but this video cracked me up. It's kind of funny that Jennings was even allowed to play with a broken leg and was still able to score a touchdown but the dude who made the video and doing the commentary is funny as shit.
I can't really tell if that's his real voice and lisp but I assume it is because his XBox Live game was GUMBYBOUTDATLIF. I have no idea what that means but the Gumby reference is dead on. Funny shit.
As much as I usually can't stand Kobe, I have to admit that I like what he did with this new NBA 2K11 commercial. He basically bowed down to MJ and give him his props as the G.O.A.T. without actually saying the words. I can respect that.
He even added him to the Lakers in the game! I can't really handle that image. That's just too weird. Imagine those two playing together though? I'm not sure there would be enough shots to go around to keep everyone happy but I certainly think they would be a more lethal combination than that of Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. That would be a sick matchup though, now that I think about it. I just might have to make it happen in 2K11 tonight.
By the way, if you are a basketball fan or like sports games, you need to pick this shit up immediately! This is one of the best games I've ever played and certainly the best basketball game of all time. You can play in all of MJ's classic games like when he dropped 63 on the Celtics in the playoffs in 1986 or when he had 6 three pointers in the first half of the NBA Finals against the Blazers. I would have bought th game but it'se MJ features as a standalone game if it was available but it turns out that it's just one of the many awesome features included in NBA 2K11. Just check out these graphics below. That looks like a real game! So nasty!
NBA Jam is back and is officially in stores now. I'll admit, I'm pretty pumped up about this. NBA Jam was by far one of my favorite games growing up and it's nice to see it get a badly needed update with new players and graphics. The game still looks like it has that same look and feel as the original which is great. The simplicity of the game is what makes it so much fun.
I like that they added some Hip Hop stars to the mix in the game. I don't know if you can pick them right away or if you need to put in a password like you had to back in the day to get players like Bill Clinton or NBA mascots but either way, it's a nice little twist and update. The video above features Kevin Durant, Tyreke, Steph Curry, Brandon Jennings, J. Cole and 9th Wonder.
I thought I would have to pick this up for the Wii, which I still might do but the game will also be available for the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 soon. Good ish.
DJ Hero 2 is on it's way with a release date of October 22nd. I'm actually not as excited about this one as I was for the first because I haven't played the original DJ Hero that much yet. It's not that the game isn't good. I just haven't had much free time and I kind of forget I own it sometimes.
On top of that, I would rather play it with the speakers turned all the way up to get the best sound but that doesn't exactly work at night when I'm playing games while the wifey is sleeping. I guess I could go with some earphones but I'm too lazy to buy an extension from my stereo. I definitely need to play the O.G. a little bit more before I get DJ Hero 2. Hopefully they will drop the price by the time I'm ready to buy it.
Anyway, here is a little more info about DJ Hero 2. As you will notice in the clip above of the RZA, you can actually play the game as some of the top DJ's and producers in the business today. This includes DJ Tiesto, A-Trak, Q-Bert and Jazzy Jeff to name a few.
There will 83 new mixes available to use during the game including songs from Busta Rhymes, Lady Gaga, Eminem, David Guetta and Kanye West.
Here are a few samples:
Busta Rhymes – “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See” Mixed With M|A|R|R|S – “Pump Up The Volume”
Naughty By Nature – “O.P.P.” Mixed With Jackson 5 – “ABC”
Young Jeezy ft. Kanye West – “Put On” Mixed With DJ Shadow feat. Q-Tip and Lateef The Truth Speaker – “Enuff (DJ Fresh Remix)”
Kanye West – “Heartless” mixed with DJ Shadow – “Midnight in a Perfect World,” Lil’ Wayne – “Go DJ” mixed with 50 Cent “In Da Club.”
2Pac ft. Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman – “California Love Remix” Mixed With B.o.B ft. Bruno Mars – “Nothin’ On You”
Flo Rida ft. Will.I.Am – “In The Ayer” Mixed With Clinton Sparks, DJ Class, & Jermaine Dupri – “Favorite DJ”
If you already own the first “DJ Hero”, you will be able to buy just the game for most likely $50-$60 since no price has been given yet. A Turntable Bundle will be available for $99.99 just like the original but they have also added a new Party Bundle option. The Party Bundle will cost $150 and will come with 2 turntable controllers, a copy of the game and a microphone.
WOW! NBA 2K11 looks sick!!! I cannot wait to get this freakin' game on October 5th. I was seriously considering getting NBA Live 2011 because they are doing a complete upgrade of the game and it looks pretty solid itself but 2K11 looks too good to pass up. I might have to bite the bullet and get both. Maybe one for the XBox 360 and one for the PS3.
It was announced a few months ago that Michael Jordan would be on the cover of NBA 2K11 but this trailer is the first we get to see his character in action. They definitely got his signature moves down perfectly and they even included the free throw line dunk and the cradle. SO NASTY!!!
Jordan hasn't been available as himself in a basketball game since way back in the day. He had some kind of deal in place where his name couldn't be used in a basketball game or something like that. I think it was because he had his own video game called "Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City" which was a terrible game that was more like Mario Bros. than anything resembling basketball.
After that, most hoops games usually replaced him with a white guy wearing #99 who was nasty as shit but you always knew it was supposed to be Jordan. So dumb. It was pretty ridiculous that we never got to use the G.O.A.T. in his prime but at least we can relive those days with 2K11. Shit looks dope!!!
