"I'll Be In The Sky" - B.o.B. Official Video and Downloads

Photobucket
I have been bumping B.o.B's track "I'll Be In The Sky" a shitload lately.  I am loving it.  It's catchy as hell, super chill and just puts me in a good mood.  I liked it so much that I decided to put it on Dj RyB Hip Hop Hits Volume 60. Go Download that ish now if you haven't already!

Everything I've heard from B.o.B. has been on point. He has a ton of versatility and can do all kinds of styles but he always puts his own stamp on it and makes each his own.  He's bringing some creativity and uniqueness to the Hip Hop game which is something this is sorely needed right now.  I expect big things from this guy in 2009. Be on the lookout for his other tracks and his new album The Adventures of B.o.B.

Sick Dunks from Team Flight Brother's Guy Dupuy (NASTY!)

Damn.  These Team Flight Brother (TFB) dudes are just insane.  They pull off some of the sickest dunks I have ever seen.  Just check out the two INSANE dunks that Guy Dupuy pulls off with minimal effort.  In the first, dude jumps over a straight standing, full sized adult, clears him easily and then grabs the ball from another guy behind his back without looking and pulls it back around his body for a tomahawk dunk.  WOW.  The second between the leg dunk looks like child's play compared to that one.

This was also a slick video response to Jeff Van Gundy's recent comments that the Sprite Slam Dunk contest should be banned from NBA All Star Weekend because it is tired and boring.  I will admit that it was getting stale in years past but players like Dwight Howard brought back the creativity to make this a must see event again.

I do think they should try some new things, however.  Why not have an NBA Champion and an Amatuer/Streetball Champ face off against each other in the final round?  Or why not let one or two outsiders come in to compete from the beggining to show people what's up.  Some of the best dunkers I have ever seen will never make it to the NBA but it would be great to see them pull of some of their incredible dunks in a major event like this.  I doubt it will ever happen but it would definitely be cool to see.

BEST DAY EVER - Lucky The Leprechaun (Celtics Mascot) is GONE!!!!

Photobucket
To quote the immortal Marv Albert, "YESSSSSSS!!!!!"  You don't understand how happy I am right now!  This is freakin' unbelievable!!!  "Lucky", the awfully untalented leprechaun mascot for the Celtics will no longer be annoying fans at games this season.  Woo Hoo!  Pop champagne, homey!

Well, actually, I don't know if the character is gone for good or if it will be resurrected by some imposter but I pray to God that is not the case.  Check this out from CelticsBlog.com and Boston.com:

"Damon Blust, the man who played mascot Lucky the Leprechaun, has parted ways with the Celtics. Sources close to the situation told the Globe's Marc Spears both sides agreed on a mutual resignation.  One source said Blust missed some team appearances and didn't see eye to eye with his boss on several issues. There is no legal or personal problem outside of the arena that led to Blust's departure."
What a tool this guy is!  It sounds like he thought he was too good to do this still or something.  Do you really think you can get another job, guy?  The only think you are qualified for is pumping my gas or working in the circus.  OK, you can get some work during Halloween too but that is about it.  Get a grip.  This is the worst mistake you've ever made.   I have a weird feeling something might have happened though.  This is just too random.

Do you think he had a sexual harrassment lawsuit floating over his head from one of the Celtics Dancers?  He does get awfully close to them during those trampoline dunk stunts (which absolutely SUCK, by the way).  I always see him starting at the tall chick's ass and following her back to the locker room.  Maybe they told him it would be best to leave now and they would keep it under wraps to save any ounce of dignity that he still had left.  I imagine there wasn't much if he was doing this line of work.

Maybe he's a drunk?  I think he might have been around during the Vin Baker era so they might have hit the bottle together after games or something.  I mean, the life of a mascot is pretty depressing.  He must have come to terms with the fact that his life is worthless.  I love speculating about things I know nothing about.  Shit is fun.

God I hate that character.  Good riddance!!!

Hot PETA Ad Banned From Super Bowl

Nice try, PETA.  Although the chicks in your commercial are hot as hell and you definitely caught my attention with the soft porn vegetable love, you will never get me to eat them or even think twice about becoming a vegetarian.  I am like a 3 year old when it comes to eating that garbage since I will bitch and whine whenever it comes with a dinner or the pre-wife cooks some green shit and tries to put it on my plate.  It's strictly meat and carbs for this guy.

Maybe vegetarians have better sex according to some lame survey you took in San Francisco or somewhere fruity but you failed to mention whether or not it was sex with a chick.  There is no way some skinny ass, tight clothes wearing, no muscle having vegetarian dude is scoring ass that resembles anything like that in your commercial.  If these vegetarian dudes that you somehow converted from your lame ad campaign happen to like chicks, they will end up going for some dirty footed, nerdy hippy chick with glasses and greasy hair.  Shit doesn't work like that, homies.  I'm claiming false advertising.

Good luck trying to convince any heterosexual male that it would be a good idea to stop eating steak, chicken and pork, regardless of the potential hot ass rewards. Meat just tastes too damn good!  I'm making my self hungry getting all fired up about this crap.  I think I will go get a Sausage, Egg and Cheese sandwich and follow it up with a huge Burger with Bacon for lunch and a fat Steak for dinner.

Mmmmmm...Bacon.  Or even better...A Bacon Belly Bomb!!!

Almost Double Backflip on a SNOWMOBILE!!! (DAMN!!!)

Even though Levi Levallee didn't techincally complete this trick, you still have to give him credit for about 95% of it since he got all the way around twice and almost landed it.  That was just f'n insane.  I didn't even realize people were doing ONE flip with a snowmobile yet alone two double backflips?  WTF?!?!  This dude has a death wish!

I guess he tricked out the sled with extra power and weights to help him get the G forces up and push the flip through while super high in the air.  I hate the snow and winter but if I get to see more cool shit like this, I guess I can deal with the white stuff once in awhile.  SICK!!!

New Jay-Z - "When The Money Goes" (Hot!) - From BluePrint 3?

Yeah man!  Some new Jay-Z for that ass.  This track is hot as hell.  Just some laid back Jigga, ridin' that chill ass beat like nobody's business.  This is supposedly off of that BluePrint 3 album but I also heard that it was supposed to be on the American Gangster album originally.  Who knows for sure and I don't really care.  It's just a dope song, regardless of when it was supposed to be released.  What I do know is that there's a new Jay-Z album on the way and I will be coppin' it as soon as that ish drops.

Holla at ya BOY!!!

Boom Shaka Laka! - Reminiscing Over NBA JAM (Throwback!)

NBA Jam Pictures, Images and Photos
This has no relevance to anything but I just had to put something up after catching a random video yesterday that had me reminiscing about the good old days.  Let's be honest.  My posts are always random and I write about whatever useless information or topic that pops into my head so this isn't too far off from what you'd expect at DjRyB.com.
Anyway, I came across this clip above of the all-time classic video game, NBA Jam.  This may be one of the best basketball games ever created because of it's simplicity and addictiveness.  When it first came out, arcade games and home game consoles like the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis were all starting to offer some "high end" graphics and game play and this game was considered to be cutting edge.  It's insane how awful it looks now but you have to remember that it was 1993 when this dropped.  This was DOPE!!!

NBA JAM Commercial (Remember this?!?!!  So good!)
The game did what you expected and it could keep you entertained for hours on end.  I'm pretty sure my buddy D.C. and I played this game for 16 hours straight until about 5 AM one Saturday night/Sunday morning.  I think we were in a SNES induced coma at that point and were just playing on auto-pilot.  We probably had 13 triple OT games and I still don't know who won the series.  The series was probably 75-74 by the time we finally passed out from exhaustion

We were somehow able to score the secret codes that allowed you to unlock characters like Bill Clinton, Al Gore, P-Funk and Air Dog who were all completely unstoppable.  Don't forget about the Power Dunks or Unlimited Turbo codes, either.  It probably took us an hour just to enter all of the codes before we even started playing.  This was all before the internet, so you had to either find out from a friend that had "connections" or find the codes in Nintendo Power magazine and make a photocopy or write it all out in a notebook.  Shit was ridiculous.

Man, I wish I could go back to being 12 or 13 for just a few days and just sit back and kick it without any responsibilities or care in the world.  Time really flies.  That literally feels like yesterday...

"He's heating up!  Naw brother, I'm on FIRE!!!" - Redman from the song "Rockafella"

"Mafia Music" (50 Cent Diss) - Rick Ross (DOWNLOAD)

This shit right here is a hot new track from Rick Ross called "Mafia Music".  I wasn't sure why Ricky Ross was dissin' 50 Cent in this track until I did a little research.  Here's the part where he mentions 50 specifically:

“We stepping on your crew ‘til them m—-f—ker’s crushed.
Makin' sweet love to every woman that you lust.
I love to pay ya bills, can’t wait to pay ya rent,
Curtis Jackson baby mama I ain’t asking for a cent
Burn the house down, you gotta buy another.
Don’t forget the gas can, jealous stupid motherfucker”

I guess Rick Ross is all pissed off because 50 said on 106 & Park that it takes all of the Florida artist to equal Him or something along those lines.  That's disrespectful but I've heard much worse and no one said a damn word.

I can't keep track of all this garbage.  Rappers need to stop being so sensitive about every little thing that is said, especially when it's such a vague statement like that.  It's getting too annoying and I'm definitely sick of trying to follow it all.  Now people get offended by the simplest statements and make a whole track about it.  It's like doing a research paper just trying to figure all this shit out.  WTF.

Just make music, people!  Damn.

Big Brother (Remix) - Bobby Creekwater (BGOV/Shady Records)

I started following Bobby Creekwater on Twitter the other day and he hit me up real quick with downloads of some new tracks, including this one above for the "Big Brother (Remix)".  He uses the instrumental and concept from Kanye's Big Brother track to describe his relationship with Eminem and Shady Records.  Nice.

I was defintiely surprised to get a real response from him so quickly but I guess it proves that artist's are getting hip to Twitter and actually using it to connect with fans and DJ's.  It might have been his management/promotional team that actually responded but either way, it's a good move on their part to get Bobby Creekwater's name floating in the Hip Hop blogosphere.  I decided to put up a post about him so it obviously worked on me and I know a bunch of other bloggers/DJ's have been doing the same thing.

If you haven't heard this dude yet, I suggest you do some digging on YouTube, iMeem, etc. to get a feel for his unique style.  I am definitely feelin' what he has put out there so far and looking forward to hearing some more.  I first heard him on Shade 45 on Sirius radio in early 2008 when they were pushing his track "Bobby Creek".  The repetition is a little crazy but it's catchy as hell.  Check it here:
He is signed to Shady Records so I am sure he will get some love on Em's new album.  If they are smart, they will get him on a bunch of tracks to push him to the ridiculously huge Eminem audience.  If he can tap even a small percentage of that fan base because of his Shady affiliation, he will be doing big things in 2009 and the near future.  I know that I am ready for his debut album to drop soon so it's just a matter of time before that demand starts building from the larger Hip Hop audience.  It's time for someone new!

And who that is?!?!  Bobby Creek

"Sweep the Leg (Johnny)" by No More Kings - Karate Kid Inspired Music Video

I don't care that this video is super cheesy or that the song is pretty awful.  It's still UNBELIEVABLE.  It's all about the total package and not the individual details that make up the finished product.  Everything just goes together perfectly and that's what a great music video is all about.

The fact that the group No More Kings was able to gather the original cast of Karate Kid (including the refs, the entire Cobra Kai, Sensei Kreese and Daniel San) plus Mr. Belding from Saved By the Bell with help from William Zabka ("Johnny") makes this an absolute Tour De Force.   Zabka even wrote and directed the entire video which is probably how they got everyone together in the first place.  It's not like they are all super busy these days, anyway.  Either way, it's still unreal.  My head almost exploded as I realized that it contained all of the original characters from Karate Kid.  So good.

Air Jordan 2009 - New Version of the Official Air Jordan Sneaker

Photobucket
If you're a big sneakerhead, you've probably already heard about the new Air Jordan 2009 that will be releasing in the very near future.  The specieal edition LE version is slated to drop on January 31st as a limited release, so I thought it would be a good time to put up a post about the next generation of the greatest shoe of all time.
Photobucket
Although the official Air Jordan sneaker was rumored to stop at XX3 to commemorate MJ's jersey number, Jordan Brand has decided to keep the shoe going in a new way by using the year it is released as part of it's official title.  It basically breaks down to AJ 1-23 as the OG Air Jordan's that honor MJ's career and legacy and anything in the future will be the sequel or continuation of sorts.  The new joints from this point on will still be the "real" Air Jordan (when compared to other styles such as Team Jordan or trainers, etc.) but probably won't be as coveted as all of the previous versions.  I still think the Air Jordan will always be a sought after shoe but I have a feeling that it will go back to it's routes and become a great basketball shoe worn by ball players instead of just being a collectible that is traded and sold at ridiculous prices by people that might not even play basketball.  That always aggravated me for some reason...
Photobucket
I wasn't too sure about the look of these at first glance but the style is definitely growing on me.  I like the sharp lines and somewhat simplified design which make it look futuristic and new.  It almost reminds me of a hot sports car like a Lamborghini or Ferrari.  You will definitely look fly wearing these on or off the court.

The AJ 2009 does have a more subtle style than most of the Air Jordan's that have released in the past 5 years or so but I still think it has a lot of cool and unique features that make this a really hot shoe.  For instance, the "blown glass" look to the upper sole that gives it a unique look and makes each shoe slightly different from the next.  They also continued on with the Considered standard which means that Nike and Jordan Brand follow the standard to “Create products that make less waste and create products that cut down on environment-harming chemicals.”

The Carbon Fiber sole and a crazy heel piece combine to form a high tech energy return system that is something straight out of a car manufacturer's design book.  Check this shit out

"Jason Mayden:  One of the key features is definitely the ATP technology, inspired by April Holmes. April Holmes is a brand Jordan track and field athlete who competes with prosthetic legs. The reason that we looked at the technology in her legs in particular is because MJ always talked about turning a weakness into a strength. When you see someone who doesn’t have all their limbs and they’re still dominating in track and field that’s definitely an amazing story, an amazing inspirational story as well as an innovation story.

So the way that this heel piece functions is it’s an energy return system (loosely based on April’s carbon-fiber leg) that propels you forward a little bit during each transition. The heel is split, and we have it constructed in a way that there is a camber to the shape to give extra grip when the athlete cuts back and forth. The camber across the heel allows the footwear to stay in contact with the ground, and helps for fast reaction time.

That's dope right there!  Be sure to check out this fairly lengthy interview with the Air Jordan 2009 designer Jason Mayden over at Complex.com.  It's a great in-depth article about the shoe itself as well as a background on Jason's move up the ranks at Nike to become the designer for the G.O.A.T.  It's an awesome read when you have some time.

The limited-release Air Jordan 2009 (available on Jan. 31), will have a black-metallic gold colorway and cost $230 a pair. There will be a general release of the white colorway which will happen during NBA All-Star Weekend on Feb. 14 and the price will drop to $190.

In-Game Double Alley-Oop (Nice!)

I caught this vid over at Ball Don't Lie earlier this morning.  This was a designed play from a high school basketball game and it is absolutely sick.  Even though the crowd of about 50 people didn't seem to appreciate this as much as they should have, it is still one of the best plays I've seen in awhile.  You can only invent so many new plays that can be used in a real basketball game that are actually effective or can be repeated.  This reminds me of the set up double alley oop plays they use in SlamBall or NBA Street (it's in there somewhere):

I definitely think J.E. Skeets makes a good point that we may start seeing this play in college or the pros very soon.  Even though it seems like a showy, And1 type of play, it actually looks like it could be very effective if executed correctly and used minimally.  It's hard enough to defend a regular alley oop if a good pick is set for the recipient of the pass but it's even harder to defend a second pick off the ball.  I would love to see this done by a pro team ASAP.  It would be like watching a real life video game.

Barack and Michelle Obama Fisting? (Funny)

Wow.  I don't really need to say much here.  Some people are just really clueless I guess.  This lady has no idea that she just used one of the dirtiest sexual terms ever by referring to fist bumps as "fisting".  Good God!  Maybe I am being immature but this is f'n hysterical.

Michael Jackson & Mr. Roboto Guy From Celtics JumboTron

My week has been mad hectic because of a work event so my posts will probably be minimal but I had to put this one up while I had a few seconds.  This is a video of one of my Pre-Wife's friends (and someone I now consider a friend), Scott Mattison from Concord, MA.  He has been on the JumboTron a ton this year during Celtics games because of his crazy and incredible dance moves.  He has an absolutely killer Michael Jackson dance routine as well as a little bit of Mr. Roboto thrown in for good measure.

The first time I saw him bustin' out, I was definitely impressed.  I consider myself a decent MJ dance impersonator so I appreciate it when I see someone else being able to pull it off with any authenticity.  Then I realized that I actually knew the guy and I almost lost it.  We ended up seeing him after the game of his first appearance and he was a legend in the streets.  Everyone knew who he was as if he was famous or something.  It was unreal.  I should have figured it was him too.  I was at his 30th birthday party where he did a dead on "Billie Jean" video impersonation for everyone.  Shit was classic!

Every season, the JumboTron video editors seem to find one crazy fan in the stands that they go to over and over again.  A couple of years ago it was that dopey guy with a Superman shirt underneath his old school Celtics warm up jacket.  Then it was a little kid impersonating him with the same routine which was even more lame and annoying.  Last year it was this little black kid who couldn't have been any older than 4 years old but could out dance any Hip Hop or R&B backup dancer.  It looks like the JumboTron Star is going to be Scott this year and I think it's freakin' awesome.

He's got season tickets and will be at most home games so be on the lookout for him.  I'm hoping he drops some moves from "Beat It" or "Smooth Criminal".  I think I will have to make that suggestion to him next time I see him.

FYI:  This was created by the Celtics organization and was shown on the Jumbotron on 12/5/08.

Sick Dunks From PTI's Toss Up (1.20.09 Episode)

Miami's DeQuan Jones' ridiculous reverse windmill dunk in traffic (and sick block)

Jarret Johnson's (Anderson University SC) stair climbing monster jam

When I was watching PTI tonight on ESPN, I had an "Oh Shit!" moment when they got to "Toss Up".  They showed these two nasty dunks above and honestly, I can't decide which one is better because they both absolutely ridiculous.

Miami's DaQuan Jones definitely wins for degree of difficulty by flushing a baseline reverse windmill dunk past 3 dudes when taking off from almost the other side of the paint.  INSANE!!!  You also get some bonus footage in the beginning with that disgusting block.   This all happened against UNC too! I need to start watching Miami games because this kid looks like he's a beast.

Anderson University's Jarrett Johnson had a pretty insane dunk himself.  I think it would have been sick, even if he had not received an extra boost off of the shoulder of the dude he posterized.  But there is no way it would have made it to PTI.  That extra kick he got elevated him well over the rim and almost shut down the gym.  The game probably stopped for a good 30 seconds which is like infintiy for the opposing team.  Just watch for Johnson's teammate that loses his mind and just starts running laps around the gym because he doesn't know what to do with himself.  It was like Def Comedy Jam at the Apollo in the mid 90's.  Freakin' classic!

Which one would you pick?

UPDATE!!!:  Here is a better version of Jarret Johnson's Chest Walking Dunk with a couple of replays and a zoomed in slow-mo.  I have to admit that I completely missed the best part of this video the first time around and it has nothing to do with the actual dunk.  BarStoolSports.com said it best:  "I mean when the midgit on the end of the bench starts break dancing on your face, I think it's time to move. At least get up and give the charge signal and head the other way like you thought it was an offensive or something."  HA HA!!!

Kobe Bryant's Ankle Breakin' Insurance (New Nike Viral Ad)

I'm not so sure the super low cut Nike Zoom Kobe IV sneakers are the best choice for insurance against ankle breaking syndrome but I still think this viral video from Nike was funny and effective.  I guess they were going with the fact that the super lightweight material will keep you moving fast enough on defense to keep you from getting your ass handed to you on a crossover.  Touche.  But I also think you are better off wearing a much higher ankle sneaker like the Hyperdunk if you are too worried about this potential injury because you are slow and suck on defense.  Sorry, I'm just being "Literal Chris" today (shot out to O&A and Jim Norton).

I like this "commercial" though!  Nike's been bringing the heat with their viral videos lately.  Good ish.

Chris Paul Owns Mavs and Almost Drops A Quadruple Double (Sick)

Last night, Chris Paul messed around and got a triple double...but he almost had a freakin' quadruple double!  Good lord!  He had 33 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds and seven steals and led the Hornets to a big win over the Mavericks.

You might be asking "has anyone ever had a quadruple double before"?  Surprisingly, yes.  It has happened four other times in NBA history.  I had no idea.  Here is the list of players and their ridiculous performances:

Nate Thurmond, October 18, 1974, Chicago vs. Atlanta; 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, 12 blocks.
Alvin Robertson, February 18, 1986, San Antonio vs. Phoenix; 20 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 steals.
Hakeem Olajuwon, March 29, 1990, Houston vs. Milwaukee; 18 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, 11 blocks.
David Robinson, February 17, 1994, San Antonio vs. Detroit; 34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 blocks.

If anyone has a chance to land the quadruple double this year or at any point in the near future, it's going to be Chris Paul, LeBron James (blocks or steals), Dwight Howard (blocks) and maybe Rajon Rondo.

I'll even go so far to say that LeBron could be the first ever player to land a Quintuple Double if he continues to step his defense up.  The kid is just a beast.  I think it's absolutely reasonable to think that he could have 10 blocks and 10 steals in a game along with a typical triple double performance.  It would have to be the perfect circumstances but I still think it's doable.  He is just too damn good.  It's just not fair!

KG Sings the Superman Theme Song

Since I'm on my way to the Celtics game tonight, I just had to put this up real quck.  Classic Garnett postgame press conference.  He always brings the comedy.  This guy needs to go on tour in retirement.

Here's one I posted up from last year with extra bonus footage of Rondo breakin' Nash's ankles like a mafia don.

American Idol Bikini Chick Katrina Darrell Video and Pics (Hot!)

Settle down over there.  No, I do not watch this awful show but some peeps at work were just talking about a "chick in a bikini on American Idol last night" so my ears instantly perked up.  I did some quick research and  was able to find the video and even some solid pics of the now infamous bikini girl, Katrina Darrell.
Photobucket
Actually, this chick is not THAT hot but I'm not complaining either.  She is definitely doable and looked pretty fly in the video.  Any time a girl with a nice body is willing to flaunt it in public, I am willing to give her a pass on a few flaws.  Oh, screw it.  Who am I kidding, this chick is pretty damn hot.
Photobucket
I can't believe this is the first time that any reasonably hot girl with mediocre talent has thought of doing this (at least that we know of).  This would have been an easy ticket to Hollywood in the past when it was just Randy, Simon and Paul and it was an instant majority in the girls favor.  I guess this kind of proved that Simon isn't as fruity as I once assumed.  This incident will still not get me to watch American Idol this season.  F that!

Sling Player App for iPhone To Drop in Q1? (Crossing Fingers)

Please let this be true!  Gizmodo is reporting that the Sling Player App for the iPhone is almost complete and should be sent to Apple for approval for the App Store at some point in Q1.  Although there have been rumors of this for months and even a demo video floating around since June (see above), I still won't believe it until it's featured in the iTunes App Store.  There has just been too much hype and too many delays for me to get excited about this again but any time I hear some news, I just flip out.  Believe me, this thing is F'n cool and worth the excitement.  I don't care if the App ends up being $30 like many people are guessing, I will still be buying it immediately after it's released.

If you are unfamiliar with the SlingBox, it's a freakin' awesome gadget that connects to any video device such as your cable box or DVD player and then "slings" the video signal through an ethernet connection across the internet to your Sling Player software located on a computer or phone.  Basically, you are watching and controlling your TV at home from anywhere that has an internet connection.  It's pretty much the coolest gadget I have ever purchased.  I have been showing it off and amazing people for a good 2 years now.  It never gets old because so few people even realize this technology is possible.

I currently have the Sling Player software on my laptop at home and computer at work.  Although I don't use it often at work, it's great for nights I need to stay late, mornings I want to catch SportsCenter, early games of the NCAA tournament or Red Sox opening day.  I use it home as a portable TV to take outside on the back deck during the summer to catch a game or even bring it in to the bathroom while I take a shower or whatever I might be doing in there for a long period of time.  It's pretty much the best thing ever.  And it's all FREE!!!  No monthly subscription.

I used to have SlingPlayer Mobile on my Motorola Q before I got the iPhone, so I was able to watch TV anywhere I was located, even if I didn't have a wifi signal.  If I was being dragged to some awful store or party by my girlfriend, I could always sneak away and catch a few minutes of the Celtics or Sox.  It came in handy many times for important games, such as the 2007 World Series.  I was in Cali for a wedding and didn't have access to a TV and missed almost every game but I was able to watch Game 3 along with some other Boston folks over in the corner so that the ladies and bride didn't see us and get pissed.  That kind of shit is priceless.  If you are a big sports fan like myself, I highly recommend you get the SlingBox and SlingPlayer Mobile for your smartphone ASAP.

As I mentioned, I've been missing the mobile aspect of the Sling Player since I got the iPhone and I would LOVE IT if I could get it back again.  I have zero issues with the iPhone except for this one missing killer app.  Make it happen soon, fellas!  I promise to both Apple and Sling Media that this will increase sales for both of your products immensely.  There are thousands of people out there that own either the SlingBox or iPhone and are waiting to make a purchase of the other one as soon as this App is available.  Sounds like a no brainer to me...

Legal Sports Gambling at CentSports.com (Cool)

Photobucket
CentSports.com was mentioned in one of the email newsletters I received this morning and I have to admit, I am a little pissed that I didn't think of this idea myself.  There is almost no way that this site won't be successful if they promote it properly.  I almost deleted the email too because I was just trying to clean out my Inbox but luckily I took the time to scan it quickly. Once I saw "free sports gambling", they had my full attention.

I joined one of the online gambling sites a few months back and after winning about $100, I soon realized that a) short money does not last long in gambling and b) losing real money sucks donkey balls. I quickly lost that $100 plus the original $100 I put in and I was back to zero. It was fun while it lasted.  I will not be back to that site any time soon.  ESPN's Streak for Cash is pretty cool because you have the chance to win $1 Million but you also have to be in the zone and win 27 bets in a row.  If you do get on a streak, you are wasting all of those good "bets" that you will never get paid out on.  That blows!

CentSports.com actually seems like a nice and legal alternative. It turns out that paying out winnings on a sport gambling is legal in the U.S. if the players aren't actually paying to play. The way it works is that the site pays you for watching ads.  Pretty simple.  They also show you an ad when you sign up so you earn $.10 right off the bat which can be used for your first bet. It sounds like nothing but it can add up quickly if you win a few bets and watch some more ads.  They also offer you the ability to put a multiplier on your bet if you watch another ad right after the bet is placed.  It's a pretty painless process and you are a hell of a lot more likely watch and even pay attention to an ad if you know you are "making money" from it. The site seems pretty legit and they have already had someone win a cash out of $1,000. That's free money right there, homey!  You can't beat that.

I just signed up a few minutes ago and already placed my first bet. Even if I lose, they will always allow me to earn $.10 by watching a new ad, so my account will never be at zero. That sounds like a great way to feed an addiction and keep you in the game!   You can also link up with and keep track of your friends bets so there is a fun social aspect to it all too.  You can copy the bets of your friend that's on a roll or you can gang up and rip on the clown that just lost 10 bets in a row.  That sounds like good times all around.

Sports are always a lot more fun when you gamble on it (see the NFL), so I highly recommend you check it out and at least give it a chance. It may take a little time and effort to "earn" your money but I think you'll have some fun doing it and won't have to worry about getting your knees smashed by some mafia dude trying to collect your debts. It sounds like a win/win situation, in my opinion. Get after it!

If you are in a giving mood, please click on this link here so I can get credited for signing you up. Once you do, I recommend doing the same yourself and promote this site to your friends so you can earn some extra cash in your account too. I'm assuming the more people that join, the better the advertising payouts should be in the future. That means more money for you to use with your bets.  Holla!

Worst Foul Call Ever - LeBron James Acting School (C's Finally Win Too)

Photobucket
The C’s finally got a freakin’ win yesterday afternoon against the much crappier than expected Toronto Raptors.  It's about freakin’ time they got their act together.  I have been so pissed off the last few weeks with all of these losses, especially when losing to some awful team like the Bobcats.  They still almost gave away this game yesterday after being up by 20 points.  They let the Raptors keep creeping back and they only ended up winning by 6 points, 94-88.  Can you guys just close out a game, please!!!   You are giving me ulcers.

Luckily Ray Allen was on point and dropped in 36 points on some killer shooting.  Rondo also crushed a sweet baseline dunk over some dude trying to cover him which helped breathe some life into this very tired Celtics team:

During the Cavs game on Friday I saw what I thought may have been one of the worst calls in recent memory.  It was typical LeBron James @ss kissing by the refs.  Rondo barely touched him but he acted like he got shot on the jumper and of course made the And 1.  Even if he did make any contact on the hand or arm, it was not enough to warrant a foul, considering all of the blatant molestations that go uncalled during a typical NBA game.
If you were watching the game, you probably had the same WTF reaction that I did.  I decided right then that I had to record it and put it up on YouTube.  This only has about 700 views currently but it already caused a stir with some of the LeBron followers as there are a ton of angry and ridiculous comments (25 and counting).  I have to admit, he is my favorite non-Celtic but he gets away with murder and it pisses me off:  I feel like Jordan didn't even get as many calls as LeBron does.  Ridiculous.

LeBron gets a lot of the calls to go in his favor by acting and complaining and if he doesn't get the call, he whines  like a little bitch (just watch this "crab dribble" bullshit from last week).  Enough LeBron.  You are already way better than everyone else.  You don't need the refs in your pocket too!

USC LB Rey Maualuga Grinds On Hot ESPN Reporter Erin Andrews

Believe me, if I was anywhere in the vicinity of Erin Andrews, I would do something much worse than this. If I was even in the same city as her, I'd probably get caught up on stalker charges.

God, she's HOT! And she actually knows what she is talking about on the sidelines. I really appreciate her body of work...

Random iPod Track of the Week - Wreckx-N-Effect "Rump Shaker"

All I wanna do is zoom-zoom-zoom-zoom and a boom-boom
Just shake your rump

Check, baby, check, baby, 1-2-3-4
Check, baby, check, baby, 1-2-3
Check, baby, check, baby, 1-2
Check, baby, check, baby, 1

YUP, YUP!!!  I just had to put this one up.  Wreckx-N-Effect's "Rump Shaker" always put me in a good mood.  It reminds me of making out with flat chested girls with flat asses during middle school parties.  Kind of ironic, huh?

I don't care if I have heard this song roughly 3 billion times. It will never get old.  This was like a gift from the gods growing up as a horny teenager.  It was literally like watching soft porn except you didn't have to hit the A/B button like a maniac or watch the scrambled Playboy channel to catch the occasional ass and boob.  Um, not that I know anything about that.  I've just heard people talk about that and stuff.  Um, ya...

Soulja Boy Robbers Make A Sketchy Video Braggin' About It (Supposedly)

I'm not a big fan of Soulja Boy so I normally wouldn't talk about him but I had to mention this since I just read about this story and thought it was kind of crazy.  In case you didn't hear, Soulja Boy was robbed in his Atlanta home by gunpoint last week and the supposed robbers had the balls to put up a Taliban style YouTube video to brag about it.  There is no way in hell to know if this is legit or not but it's been making the rounds across the blogosphere so I thought I would put it up.

Above is the original video with audio distortion to hide their real voices and identities. Somebody went and grabbed this video and edited it to remove the distortion and reveal the real voices of the goons in the video.  This sounds like the same exact words and speech patterns as the original so you should be hearing something close to the real voices if that editing software is accurate.  Whoever did this has some serious tech skills.  That's some CSI type shit!

Puma Past Masher - Personal Photo Mash-Up Tool (Cool!)

Ya, that's me!  You're boy, Dj RyB.  I read an article about a new online promotion for Puma to help commemorate the brand's 60th birthday simply called "I Am 60" so I thought I would check it out and it ended up being kind of cool.  You can pick from a bunch of fly Puma styles from the 40's and 50's, all the way up to the 90's.  I had to go with the what I assume is the crushed velvet jacket that LL Cool J used to rock in his videos.  I couldn't find the matching Kangol (Puma must not have made their own version) so I went with the Fresh Prince cyclist cap and the Run DMC glasses to match.  I wish I could have chosen some fly Puma suedes to go along with it but what can you do.  I still think it's fresh to death.
Photobucket
This whole concept of uploading a picture of someone and putting it on another body has been done before but it never really seems to get old.  It's great if you want to embarrass a co-worker or if you just need a good laugh.  I think it's even cooler when you can customize it like you can with Puma's Past Masher.  Check it out  if you are bored and have some pics of yourself and friends.  WORD UP!!!

"Regular Everyday Normal Crew" Rap Video - Jon Lajoie (HYSTERICAL!)

Jon LaJoie is freakin' amazing!  I am laughing my ass off right now.  He keeps dropping bombs!  "We're just an Every Day Normal Crew!...And we enjoy spending time with our families."  Ha ha.

Every time I think I just saw the funniest video ever, he hits me with a new gem.  He even found a way to drop a Mike Tyson's Punch Out uppercut, Super Mario Bros. flute and Contra code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, B, A, Select, Start.  Remember that shit?!?!) reference into his 16 bars.  RESPECT!!!

I first heard of Jon Lajoie through his viral video "Everyday Normal Guy" which was also freakin' amazing.  If I was ever going to do a comedic rap, it probably would have sounded like this:

I dug a little deeper into his catalog and the dude is on point with everything he does.  He can even sing decently so he has some seriously diverse comedic videos which are usually music based.  "Show Me Your Genitals" might be the most random but also the most entertaining of them all.  It's not even necessarrilly what he is saying but how he is saying it.  The chorus is catchy as shit too!

Super Mario Bros. 3 Theme Live Drum "Remix" (AWESOME!)

Wow! This dude absolutely rips it on the drums while creating an updated and much cooler version of the Super Mario Bros. 3. That was unreal!

If you grew up playing the original NES, then you will definitely love this "remix". This song played in my head roughly 3 thousand times and burned a permanent spot in my brain because of all the hours me and my buddies would spend trying to rescue the damn princess.  If you mention Mario to anyone that has ever enjoyed playing it, they will instantly lose their mind and then be in a happy mood for the rest of the day as they daydream about the good old days as a youth. This video definitely will do the same for you.

Below is a somewhat related Super Mario Bros. video from Seth McFarlane's (creator of Family Guy) Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy. If you don't subscribe to these vids in YouTube already, I highly recommend you do so ASAP.  They are short and sweet and good for a quick laugh, although super random.  Most of them are funny as hell though.

Vote Rondo for the NBA All-Star Game - (11th place for Guards? WTF?!?!)

Photobucket
I don't know how this is F'n possible but Rajon Rondo is not even in the top ten for All-Star votes for NBA guards.  WTF?!?!  Do any of these people voting even watch basketball?  Gilbert Arenas is at #6 and has only played 13 games in the past 2 seasons and ZERO games this season.  Luke Ridnour has more votes than Rondo and you wouldn't even be able to pick him out of a line up of your local colleges fraternity.  Take a closer look at the current voting results at RedArmy.com.  It's disgusting.

What is going on here?  I am about to lose my damn mind thinking about this travesty.  I thought NBA fans were some of the more informed fans of all major sports but you are really killing my argument, you dumbasses.  Actually, I don't know many male adults that actually make All-Star votes so maybe it is just a ton of dumb little kids filling out ballots at games and picking the names they know from commercials and video games.

Ugh.  I am really depressed about this.  I just hope the coaches vote him in and reward Rondo for a great season so far.  (Let's not even talk about the group of losses and shitty games that the C's have played lately because not one single player would be voted to the All-Star game if you saw these games.)

Anyway, just do me a favor and vote for Rondo if you are a Celtics fan or just a fan of good basketball and can appreciate a young talented player taking it to the next level.  The kid deserves it.  There's only 12 days left, so get after it!  If you sign up and vote at NBA.com, you will be entered for a chance to win a Grand Prize of tickets to the 2009 All-Star Game, season tickets and even your own character in the NBA 2K10 video game.  Sweet!

LeBron Travels Badly And Bitches About Being Called For It

My boys and I were discussing this video of LeBron taking about 8 steps on the way to the basket during the Cavs/Wizards game last night.  It came at a really crucial point in the game and the turnover played a huge role in the loss for the Cavs.

Once we started thinking about it, we realized how often he does this and how rarely it's actually ever called a travel.   I've definitely seen him take almost 4 steps before but they let him get away with hit because he ended up with a ridiculous highlight dunk.  The NBA would rather let their stars get away with bending the rules if it helps promote the game and excite the crowd.  I understand.  Michael Jordan is my favorite player of all time and he got away with murder.  Let's just try and keep it reasonable.  LeBron really seems to get away with more than most superstars and it sounds like he can't handle it when they actually make the right call.  Come on, bro!  You said you saw the replay.  You still think that you did nothing wrong?

I can't lie though. I love LeBron. The kid is ridiculous.   I just wish they kept him honest once in awhile.   I also wish he would stop whining so much about calls made by the refs, especially when they made the right call in a high pressure situation.  Get over it, LeBron. That was not a "crab dribble" whatever the F that is supposed to be.  I don't even think that exists and if it does, I'm pretty sure it's not legal.

What he should have been trying to do was a jump stop dribble which is actually legal and very effective if you can do it right. A lot of refs will call that incorrectly because you can almost stop dribbling from the three point line and end up with a layup if you do it correctly. The difference is that you have to land with two feet after the dribble, and then you are allowed to jump again after that. LeBron landed with one foot and took another step, so that is definitely a travel.

Here is a slow version of how it should be done:

My boy KG has been getting crushed with the travel calls this year too. He does travel at times but it's such a complicated move that he has in the post, the refs don't know what to do with it.  It looks like a travel almost every time but he has perfected the move with so much traffic that I am pretty sure he has it down legally.  I heard that the Celtics send tapes to the league office to show how it's not a travel but this year it's been called a ton.  I don't know if he is getting old and messing up or if there are new refs trying to stick it to the C's because they don't like how much they trash talk or something.  Who knows.  As long as they get the call right in the long run, that's all that matters.  It just seems like the refs are all over the place this year and I can't figure them out.

Wing Suit Base Jumping - The Craziest Shit You Will Ever See!

Holy F! This wing suit base jumping video is absolutely ridiculous!!! I don't think I've ever seen anything crazier than this. All I could say while watching this was "Holy Shit!!!" That pretty much sums it up right there.

If you thought bungee jumping or skydiving was insane, you haven't seen anything yet. Somebody had to have died testing these suits out for the first time. I can't believe these things even exist! They are literally flying at about 100 MPH off of cliffs, just feet from the wall, rocks and trees and could die or be paralyzed at any time. WTF?!?!?! What makes you want to do this?

These dudes have serious balls. Mad props to y'all cause that was cool as hell but you are all freakin' psychos!!! When are you putting out your next video? Ha ha.

"Walk In Closet" - Foreign Heineken Ad (Best Idea Ever)

This is a great Heineken ad that one of my boy's sent over earlier today.  This may be one of the best ideas I have ever seen.  I might have to use the Walk In Refrigerator plan for myself when I get my own custom built house...right after I rob a bank or win the lottery.  I am sure there are some rich A-holes out there that will see this and do the same damn thing.  Bastards!

I think I might need the Walk In Shoe Closet too but customize it so I can fit all my kicks and put my Jordan's and Nike's on display, "Cribs" style.  I always get pissed off when I see all of the rappers and ball players putting their sneaker collections on display like it's a museum.  Half of those dudes get their joints for free too!

Dj RyB Hip Hop Hits Volume 59 Mixtape (DOWNLOAD)

Dj RyB Hip Hop Hits Volume 59
I know.  It's been awhile since I put out a new Dj RyB mix.  Things have been a little hectic since September so I haven't had much free time to put something new together until last week.  I've been sitting on about 100 songs from the last 3 months or more so it's about time I put something new out there for you to bump.  This is part 1 of 3 mixes that I have in the works ranging from Hip Hop, R&B and Hit Pop.  I will have something new ready for you again in the next couple of weeks.  I've got some heat that I just need to put out there before it's too late!

I thought Dj RyB's Hip Hop Hits Volume 59 came out pretty solid and I like it more every time I listen to it.  Like I said, I haven't made a mix in months so I was a little rusty.  As always, it's one time only on the mix.  If I mess up, you'll hear it.  My scratching was definitely a little off this time around.  I think it gives the mix some character and a human feel though.  I don't like to use any editing software like Pro Tools to clean it up like some DJ's do.  I think that's cheating.  I did add a few sound effects to clean up the parts I wasn't completely happy with but that's as far as I'll go.

Click Here to DOWNLOAD Dj RyB Hip Hop Hits Volume 59 now or visit my Dj RyB Mixtape Podcast for this and other Dj RyB mixtapes.   You can also listen to the full mix in the Podomatic podcast player in the right hand column.

Don't forget to subscribe to my podcast in iTunes!

Click the button above to subscribe or just do a search for Dj RyB and you'll find me!  If you like what you hear, please leave a review.  I appreciate all of the positive feedback I've been getting lately.  Good ish!
