Mikey Bloodshot Bio:
http://www.myspace.com/mikeybloodshot

After over a year of collaborative efforts between Florida based independent label- Str8Forward Records, New York based independent label- Divine Order Ent. LLC aka "D.O.E." in association with management company Junior Ent. a joint venture has been structured to release Mikey Bloodshot's 1st album slated for a 2009 release, "Million Dollar Dreams".

BabyPaul 1st discovered Mikey Bloodshot by referral of Marc Smilow, CEO of Junior Ent. who has managed artists like Junior Mafia; Producers Anthony Bell (Jazmine Sullivan, Jill Scott, Vivian Green, Raheem DaVaughn, Jewel, Common, Kindred the Family Soul, Musiq), Dahoud Darien (The Game, Jay-Z, Big Pun, Talib Kweli, Jon B., Mya, Bilal), Pete Kuzma (Jill Scott, Raheem DeVaughn, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Dwele, Radio Head, Everything But the Girl, G. Love and Special Sauce) and Songwriters/Artists; Jasmin Lopez, (Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Young Buck, Tenisha Keli, The DEY, Fabalous, Lil Kim, Mya, Tony Yayo), Rasheem “Kilo” Pugh (Lauryn Hill, Faith Evans, Heather Headly, Dante Thomas, Ghostface, Warren G).

BabyPaul heard Bloodshot's music from Marc Smilow as they were shopping around for a deal and was impressed by the groundwork that had already laid down in Bloodshot's own market in Florida having already done songs with Rick Ross generating radio spins in the south ("What Cha Sitting On"- 2006) as well as having recorded songs with DJ Khaled, BlackOut, Cool & Dre, and introducing Jackpot who did the new single "BackYard" feat Movado.

After doing work with Koch records producing music for AZ- ("A.W.O.L."-2005 "Final Call"- previously unreleased-2008) BabyPaul tried to pitch for Bloodshot to get signed to Koch but they passed on him, however seeing his potential Paul decided to offer his production services in hopes to take on Bloodshot's project. Bloodshot traveled out to NYC multiple times to record songs with Paul and build his relationships in NYC in the process.  Marc came up with a mixtape series called "Pimp My Radio" Hosted by Brooklyn's own The Midas Touch DJ Nu in which Bloodshot would feature himself on various songs in the market that were either already on the radio or bubbling in the streets and clubs.

The 1st release generated a great response on the internet and in the streets which garnered the attention of up coming online mixtape champions, Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes run by Lil' Fats Filet. Having formed an alliance to continue marketing Bloodshot via mixtapes, Coast 2 Coast will be releasing the "Pimp My Radio" series along with various other mixtapes which will ultimately lead up to Bloodshot's full length album.

"Million Dollar Dreams" will be Mikey Bloodshot's 1st album Exec-Produced by BabyPaul/BpZy, Deebo, Marc Smilow which will be distributed by D.O.E./Universal Republic Records with a tentative release of Fall-2009. The album will include production from BabyPaul/BpZy, Beat Fanatik, Nottz, Tye Phife, Dj Khaled, Double Up, Primeheat Production, JackPot, Young Yonny, and coming out of retirement Prestige formerly of The Hitmen.

Lil Wayne & Juelz Santana - 4 HQ Joints From "My Face Can't Be Felt" Mixtape

I posted this up on TrueMixtapes.com last night but figured it made sense on DjRyB.com as well.  If you haven't had a chance yet, head on over and check out the new style of TrueMixtapes.com.  I updated the look and feel to a blog style so I can add posts easier and on a more regular basis...

Aw shit!  We're finally starting to seem some movement from Lil Wayne and Juelz Santana on the "I Can't Feel My Face" collabo.  There have been rumors of an official album for years but there have ony been a few mixtapes to hold fans over.  It seems like a real album could be on the way after all.

The "My Face Can't Be Felt" Mixtape just dropped recently and Juelz Santana saw that some tracks were leaking so he wanted some high quality versions out there for his people.  DOPE!

"By Myself"

"Guys Like Us"

"Arm"

Celtics vs. Thunder - Pierce Drops 27 Pts. and Rondo Amazes (AGAIN)

You probably didn't catch the Celtics game last night because you were in the corner kicking and screaming because your NCAA bracket had officially been dismantled by Michigan State and Villanova.  I have to admit that I forgot the Celtics were playing myself but I did end up catching the second half after I started flicking around the stations

Unfortunately, I missed a few great highlights from Rajon Rondo in the first half but was able to catch them on the wrap up show.  My favorite had to be the behind the back dribble that turned into a behind the back pass to Mikki Moore for a great dunk.  That's TWICE he went around the world on the way to the hoop like it ain't no thang.  You gotta love the balls Rondo has to try something like that midgame.  The funny thing is, he rarely ever messes up so it doesn't even seem like he is showboating.  He's like the new school Bob Cousy that can actually dribble with two hands.

Rondo also made another sick play when he completely smoked Westbrook without even using the pick from Bill Walker and went in for the nice one handed dunk.  I always forget how high the little guy can get up.  He ended up with 12 assists and 5 rebounds even though he only had 6 points.

The Thunder made a move in the second half to get the game closer but the C's eventually pulled away to win big, 103-84.  Glen "Big Baby" Davis got elbowed hard in the grill and needed stitches in his forehead but he came back in the game and had a couple of nice shots including a fall away jumper (WTF?).  Paul Pierce also stepped up in the second half and ended up with 27 points after hitting an array of jumpers and great drives to the hoop.

On a related note, Pierce also gave away 5 tickets to the game last night using only Twitter.  In the unconventional giveaway, Pierce asked fans that were interested to show up at the players parking gate wearing a Pierce jersey and to shout out the secret password "Truth".  The "winners" were then given tickets to Pierce's suite.  Very cool!

Overall, that was a nice win by the C's against against an ever improving Thunder team that is led by one of my favorite young players in the L, Kevin Durant (check out some of his ridiculous shots last night as well).  Let's hope the C's can keep the momentum going while KG and Powe continue to heal for the playoffs.

Auto-Tuning with Vimeo's J-Pain (HYSTERICAL!)

I meant to put this video up on Friday but I figured three posts while at work was probably pushing it already.  I wasn't sure what the hell this video would be about due to the lack of information in the title ("Auto Tuning) and slow start but it got better once things got going.  I highly recommend you stick with it.

This is probably one of the funniest usages of the Auto-Tune feature I've seen yet.  The self proclaimed J-Pain of the Vimeo staff downloaded Auto-Tune to his computer and seems like he is a little too obsessed with it's capabilities.

My favorite line was the "I've got those beautiful 300x250 ads...above the fold!".  That line is probably only funny for the few hundred people who work in the online ad industry or someone that has their own website but I don't give a shit.  It had me crackin' up and that's all that matters.

This is probably where they got the idea for the sketch in the first place.  I might have to get this for my computer at work too so I can piss off all of the people that sit around me.  Classic:

Random iPod Track of the Week - 2Pac "So Many Tears" (DOPE!)

Here's a nice 2Pac throwback to start the week off right. This came up on my iPod the other day and it instantly took me back to high school when this album first came out. This is probably one of my Top 5 favorite 2Pac songs of all time. It's almost impossible to pick a favorite but this is right up there.

"So Many Tears" is dope on so many levels. This is probably one of the best and most intricate rhyme patterns of 2Pac's career and the lyrics are some of his deepest and most introspective. The beat is a complete monster and samples another an all time classic, Stevie Wonder's "That Girl".  Mad props to producer D-Flizno for making this track.  The darkness of the beat goes perfectly with Pac's lyrics.  Unreal.

Here is Stevie's "That Girl" so you can compare the tracks and try and find that harmonica sample they use in "So Many Tears".  It's right around the 2:40 mark:

I was also able to find this live performance of "That Girl". Check out Stevie with the Afro and headband! Dude was Pimpin' back in the day!

TFB's Golden Child & Guy Dupuy Show Their Hops (SICK DUNKS)

More HEAT from Team Flight Brothers!  This time around we've got some dope clips from Golden Child (above) and Guy Dupuy (below).  Both of these dudes are ridiculous.  They are doing video game dunks that I didn't think were humanly possible!

Look for Golden Child's last dunk and you will see what I am talking about.  A 360 between the legs windmill dunk?  WTF!?!?!

It's not even fair how high these guys get up. They would put NBA players to shame...

Matt Koval: How to Kick Game To the Ladies (FUNNY)

I just stumbled across this guy Matt Koval's YouTube Channel and he's got some good stuff in there.  This dude brings up some valid and funny points in regards to kickin' game to the ladies.  If you had any common sense or were not a complete tool, you would probably know these "rules" but not everyone has game.

Anyway, there is one really good tip in this video and it's probably the simplest thing on earth.  It's crazy that more guys haven't figured this out...

Tony Kornheiser (PTI): Matt Lauer Lied About Bike Accident (FUNNY)

Normally I wouldn't post something that involves something as awful as the Today Show but this video turned out to be pretty damn funny.  Tony Kornheiser blasted Matt Lauer on Pardon The Interruption the other day and claimed that he must be lying about his supposed bike accident in which he hit a deer.  You have to admit, the story does sound a little ridiculous.  I love that Tony K. called him out in his typical over the top style.

The next day, they invited Kornheiser on the Today Show and they ended up with this hysterical interaction.  I think it's safe to say that Tony completely PWNED Matt Lauer and had everyone in the studio laughing their ass off.  He can be a grumpy negative bastard but he's also really funny when he wants to be.  Good stuff....

Best Site Ever! - UnderstandRap.com (ADDICTING)

Photobucket
UnderstandRap.com might be the most addicting site I have come across in a long time.  Have you ever been listening to a rap song and ask yourself "WTF did he just say?" or "What in the hell are they talking about?".  Don't worry, your're not alone.  That's where UnderstandRap.com steps in to help the uninformed.

The concept is simple.  People will post rap lyrics or songs that they don't understand.  A user of the site with good rap knowledge will step in and give the most vanilla explanation (literally and figuratively) so that even the whitest person on earth could actually understand.  I thought it was a good idea but wasn't sure how much longevity the site had.  After I started reading and posting responses for awhile, I realized I was officially addicted.  I wasted a good hour yesterday responding to the "needed items" section.

Here are a few of the explanations that I added yesterday:

Being a DJ, I consider myself a rap connoisseur and a decent lyrical translator but there are plenty of times where I just have no clue what some of these rappers are talking about.  There is just too much crazy shit being said to be able to understand each and every song and lyric.  A lot of rappers aren't even talking about anything of significance or making any sense because they were probably high as F#% when they wrote it so I can understand how a regular rap listener would get frustrated and confused.  UnderstandRap.com is literally providing an educational tool to people of all ages and races.  That's pretty impressive if you ask me.

Here are a few more great examples from other users:

Keri Hilson ft. Kanye West & Ne-Yo "Knock You Down" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Keri Hilson is on fire right now! This is the official video for her new single "Knock You Down" ft. Kanye West and Ne-Yo. Shit is hot!  And DAMN!!! So is she!  It's crazy that she was able to land both Kanye and Ne-Yo but it's actually not surprising when you realize how many connections she has in the music industry.

Although Hilson is technically a new artist and In a Perfect World is her solo album, she has been in the music game strong since 2001.  She was all over Timbaland's last album Shock Value and more specifically the huge smash "The Way I Are".  Her songwriting credits include Ludacris' “Runaway Love,” Mary J Blige's “Take Me as I Am” and Omarion's “Ice Box,” as well as hits for Ciara, Chris Brown, Britney Spears and Usher. If you have a few minutes, I suggest you read the article in Remix Magazine that touches on her career in the music industry as well as working on her new album with producer Polow Da Don. It's definitely interesting.

Her first single "Turnin' Me On" ft. Lil Wayne is officially a hit and has been bubbling on the charts for a few months now. I wasn't a big fan of that track originally but I think the beat just took a little getting used to and needed some time to sink in. Now it's one of my favorite R&B club tracks.  Keri Hilson is officially the hottest chick in R&B right now and she ain't going nowhere.  Watch out ladies because she's taking over!

Danica McKellar aka Winnie Cooper Gets Married and Strips (DECENT)

Sexilicious Pictures, Images and Photos
I know that title is a little deceiving but I can only fit so much up there.  Danica McKellar aka Winnie Cooper of Wonder Years fame just got married over the weekend.  Big whoop.  I'm sure you don't really care because I could really give a shit myself.  One good thing that came from this useless information was the fact that I stumbled across some half naked pictures of Winnie Cooper from Stuff Magazine in 2005.  Ain't nothing wrong with that!

Although she's not as hot as I thought she was when I was a horny teenager in puberty watching the Wonder Years, I do have to say that she is still pretty fly in these pics.  I saw a few more recent photos from her wedding and she isn't holding up as well these days but I'll pretend I never saw those and just focus on the good stuff below.  Airbrushing can do wonders, huh?

Pre-Game Intro Battles Vol. 1 - Shaq vs. LeBron (FUNNY)

The NBA season must be coming to an end soon because all of the big dogs are getting bored and spending entirely too much time on ridiculous pre-game intros.  Although this is not the first time NBA players have come up with creative pre-game intros, I have to give credit to LeBron for taking it to the next level with his "Family Photo" intro from last week.  Not bad.
Not to be outdone, Shaq came up with an even funnier and more creative intro that we will simply call "Shaq Bowling".  If I had to pick a winner, I would go with Shaq because it was well thought out and executed and added more choreography and players to the mix.  What put "Shaq Bowling" over the top was Alando Tucker wobbling around as the last pin.  Classic!  As Shaq would say, "Take that LeBron"!  I can't wait to see what's next...

Ciara Ft. Justin Timberlake - "Love Sex Magic" (HOT!)

Ciara's new track "Love Sex Magic" featuring Justin Timberlake might not be for everyone but I think you should at least give it a shot because this video is sick.  I used to think Ciara kind of looked like a dude in drag but she is looking pretty fly these days.  I think she slowed down on the weights and worked on those curves a little bit more.  Good move!

"Love Sex Magic" is a sick club joint and will be at the top of the charts very soon.  This sounds like something that might have been on one of JT's last two albums because of that great uptempo pop/R&B sound that everyone loves these days.  Pop, R&B and Dance music have all merged together over the past few years, so call it what you want.  I just think it's a hot track.  Period.

I can't confirm this but I am pretty sure JT produced this himself.  He has been getting behind the boards more and more these days and has produced a few dope tracks for himself.  I am sure he learned a shitload from Timbaland when they were working on the Future Sex/Love Sounds album.  Even the title of this track sounds like it should have been from that album.  Either way, I expect this to be a panty dropper for the ladies as we reach the spring and early summer.  Pop this in and you will definitely get the ladies shakin' their asses.

March Madness: Two Great Finishes from the Weekend (NICE)

There haven't been a ton of upsets in the NCAA tournament this season but the games have still been fun to watch and there have been a of great finishes.  Above is a video mix of the Western Kentucky vs. Gonzaga and Duke vs. Texas games from Saturday night.  Both were great games and came down to the wire.

The Western Kentucky vs. Gonzaga game had a crazy ending with two great shots to end the game.  Western Kentucky might have gotten a little too relaxed after taking the lead on a tip in basket with about 7 seconds remaining.  Instead of playing lock down D, they let Gonzaga's Demetri Goodson go all the way down the court for a fairly uncontested layup/short jumper to win the game.  The kid is only a Freshman but has balls the size of a medicine ball.  He should have done the Sam Cassell big ball dance right after hitting that shot.  That's how you do it!

Western Kentucky's coach was all fired up because he claimed he called a timeout with .9 seconds remaining but his team threw the ball in too quickly and the refs did not see the coach calling timeout.  He does have a legitimate beef because the refs should be looking for a TO in that situation but he has to be more upset with his team for not knowing to call it on their own.  Either way, I think Gonzaga would have won but that's a tough way to go out.

The Duke game came down to an incredible play after a missed shot by Texas.  The Longhorns would have ended up with the ball out of bounds and a chance for another shot to tie but Jon Scheyer was able to grab the ball before it went out of bounds and fling it behind his back the other side of the court where teammate Elliott Williams was fouled in the open court and put the game away with two free throws.  That took some serious quick thinking and great court awareness to do that. Texas had no shot at the ball in the front court and ended up making the mistake of an open court foul as well.  Damn.

My brackets are looking pretty good still as most of my Sweet 16 is still in tact but I need UNC to win it all if I have any chance of winning to pool.  Let's go Tarheels!!!

Asher Roth - "Lark On My Go-Kart" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

This is the dope new video for Asher Roth's track "Lark on My Go-Kart". This track is HOT!  The beat is hot, the flow and lyrics are ridiculous (as always) and the animation is crude but funny as hell.  There are about a hundred old school references in there (including Full House, Teddy Ruxpin, Mario Kart and Razor Ramon) and the title of the song refers to Lark Voorhies' fine ass from Saved By The Bell.  It doesn't get more random than that.

Overall, I give this a 12 out of 13 bottles on the Thirsty13.com scale.  SICK VIDEO!  Keep doin' your thing Asher!

Blake Griffin Flipped and Body Slammed During NCAA Tournament (WOAH)

I guess this is one way to try and slow down the unstoppable BEAST that is Blake Griffin.  Morgan State forward Ameer Ali decided it was a good idea to flip Oklahoma's Blake Griffin over his back and finish it off with a body slam after they got tangled up during their first round game of the NCAA Tournament yesterday.

Ali was immediately ejected and Blake Griffin was not hurt in any way because he is super human and built of steel.  Blake's next dispay of Superman like abilities will be crushing a keg with his bare hands after Oklahoma qualifies for the Final Four.  That's right.  I went there!  I expect him to go for 40 points and 20 rebounds and Tournament MVP before all is said and done.  The kid is a MONSTER!!!

Random iPod Track of the Week - Black Star "Definition"

This is a true classic right here.  "Definition" was the first time I ever heard of Mos Def or Talib Kweli but from that point on I was a huge fan.  I was instantly attracted to their different style and flow, unique voices and broad subject matter.  I'm still a little disappointed that they never put out another album as Black Star (still hoping) but they do appear on songs together from time to time so I guess that is almost as good.  Hopefully there will be a reunion with a new Black Star album in the future.

This track holds up suprisingly well even though it is over 10 years old.  I feel like they could release this today and it would still be a major hit.  It's crazy that this song came out in 1998 because that was when "Jiggy" and "Bling" and commercial Hip Hop were in full effect.  There were no shiny suits or crazy video budgets for these guys though.  That's for sure.  Just check out the cop trying to shut them down halfway through the video.  They were rappin' in a freakin' van in the middle of the city!  What's the problem officer?  It doesn't get much more low budget than that....

BARACKetology - President Obama Makes His NCAA Picks (COOL)

Even with all of the madness going on with the economy, President Obama took some time out to sit down with ESPN's Andy Katz and fill out his NCAA March Madness bracket.  This is by far one of the coolest things a a current president has ever done in my opinion.

We all knew Obama could ball a little bit but he apparently he has a lot of basketball knowledge as well.  You can tell that he follows college basketball quite a bit and isn't just a poser.  His brother-in-law (Craig Robinson) is the head coach at Oregon State so I'm sure he has some great college hoops discussions to keep him on his game.

He ended up going with North Carolina as the champs.  He even said "I picked you all last year.  You let me down.  This year don't embarass me in front of the nation.  I'm counting on you."  I don't think you need much more than that to get motivated as a team!  Look out for UNC!  Maybe that is incentive to go update your brackets before it's too late!

Here is Andy Katz' summary of the interview and his take on Obama's hoops knowledge:

Public Enemy ft. The Roots - "Bring The Noise" from Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon (SICK!)

WOW!!!  Late Night with Jimmy Fallon keeps bringing the heat with the musical performances.  This one has to be my favorite so far.  Public Enemy performs "Bring The Noise" with The Roots as the backing band.  Nasty!  Black Thought takes over for the third verse and absolutely KILLS it.  He sounded just as good if not better than Chuck D did on the original.   Can someone please give this dude the props he deserves and put him in the list of top MC's of all time?  Damn.

Flavor Flav was in the house and provided his usual hype man shenanigans.  He was just standing their like a statue for 3/4 of the song.  So random yet so awesome.  Having The Roots on board every night is so huge for Jimmy Fallon and should help the show continue to land great Hip Hop artists and also bring in many more viewers that wouldn't normally watch the show.  I need to start recording this show because I am definitely missing out on some good shit.

Since this post is about Public Enemy, I might as well give you one of the best versions of "Bring the Noise" as well.  Below is the remix/metal mash up that they did with Anthrax years ago.  This is way before rap and metal acts started performing together and was at least 10 years before Rap/Nu Metal bands like Limp Bizkit started getting popular. The collaboration was way ahead of it's time and is still one of the best mash ups ever.  I don't care if you hate metal or hard rock.  This song will still get you fired up and noddin' your head like you are some punk with long hair rockin' all black leather.  It's perfect for working out or getting ready for a fight.  You'll want to rip someone's head off after you listen to it.

TURN IT UP!!!!  BRING THE NOISE!!!

Accidental Back Flip Dunk by Wyoming's Adam Waddell (WTF?!)

Surprisingly, this is the only video I could find so far for one of the craziest/weirdest dunks that I have ever seen in my life.  This was #2 on SportsCenter's Top Plays this morning.  Some hockey dude cutting a net got #1.  F that!  That's so WEAK!  Something this strange and unbelievable should always be #1.  Get your act together SportsCenter!

I just can't get over how awesome this is.  You really couldn't make this up.  A goofy white Center with long blond hair from Wyoming (Adam Waddell) steals the ball and gets one of the only fast break dunk opportunities he will ever have in his life.  He can't dribble so well so he is just trying to get to the basket as soon as possible without dribbling off his knee.  He takes off from about a foot inside the free throw line for what appears to be a really sick dunk but something gets twisted along the way.  He makes the dunk but he doesn't realize how much momentum he gathered from jumping so far so he ends up hanging on to the rim too long and does a complete back flip and lands on his face.  How did he not break his neck?!?!  UNREAL!

He was totally fine to top it all off.  He got up right away and started running down the court with a big smile on his face so all of his teammates began to laugh and point at the gangly bastard.  I was laughing my balls off when I saw this earlier this morning.  AWESOME!!!

Rappin' Flight Attendant (DECENT & FUNNY!)

Woah!  This is actually WAY BETTER than I expected it to be.  I saw this video posted on a few other blogs but I just couldn't build up the strength to watch it because I expected some cringe inducing raps that would give me the douche chills.

Luckily, this rappin' Southwest Airlines flight attendant got the job done and then some.  I have to admit that I would much rather hear this than the usual half-assed garbage you get from typical flight attendants with a bad attitude.  At least he is trying to put everyone in a good mood and make it fun.

You gotta love him calling out the rhythmically challenged old white guys in the first few rows when he said "Stay on beat there!" Ha Ha!  Old white people suck.  By the way, there is no way in hell that he did the normal announcement 5 times already today and he just "happened" to break this one out.    That was just too clean.  Either way, it was still pretty good.  I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

This dude must have been a DJ, radio host or a failed rapper with that voice and delivery.  He reminds me of an older Greg Nice of Nice & Smooth fame.  Remember "Sometimes I Rhyme Slow"?  I thoroughly enjoyed that clip and I'm actually glad I watched it.   "You will not get that on United Airlines.  I guarantee you!"  That's Fa Sho!

Leprechaun in the Hood - Happy St. Patrick's Day! (CLASSIC)

Happy St. Patrick's Day MoFo's!!!  My favorite holiday of the year is finally here.  I love having an excuse to wear all green with shamrocks on my forehead and drink heavily on a Tuesday night without anyone yelling at me and telling me I have a drinking problem.  The only thing that would make this day better is if the NCAA Tournament started today instead of Thursday.

Actually, maybe it's a good thing that it's not on the same day.  That could be a total shitshow, especially up here in Boston.  I already had to deal with the nutjobs at the Southie Parade on Sunday and I had to walk a country mile to my apartment because there was zero parking anywhere in the city on Saturday.  I think I have had enough of the drunktards for one week but it looks like I will have to deal with them for one more day...
st. patricks day Pictures, Images and Photos
Anyway, now that the this magical day of drinking and debauchery is here, I thought it would be great to commemorate it with one of the all time classic YouTube videos "Leprechaun in the Ghetto" (above).  I'm sure you've seen this video by now since it's been around for years but it's always worth watching it again because it is so freakin' awesome.  I can't believe this was a real news story but I guess there isn't much happening down in Mobile, Alabama except for insane High School Basketball fights.

Here are the highlights:

Billy Mays For ESPN360.com (InfomercialAddict.com)

you shut your whore mouth when billy mays is talking Pictures, Images and Photos
I just relaunched my other blog InfomercialAddict.com last week so I figured I would give you a taste of the site so you might check it out when you were in the mood for something random.  I absolutely love the awfully bad acting and production in infomercials and I also enjoy ripping them apart.  However, the one person I refuse to make fun of is Billy Mays.  He is the King of the Infomercial game.  I bow down at his greatness. Here is a look at his latest promotion.  Although it's not a real infomercial, this might be some of his greatest work yet:

(Post by Dj RyB from InfomercialAddict.com)
YES!!!  My man Billy Mays has gone big time with his new ad for ESPN360.com.   My two favorite things on TV (ESPN and Infomercials) have finally collided to form one super awesome TV ad.  My head almost exploded when I first heard this blaring through the speakers at an obscene level: "BILLY MAYS HERE FOR ESPN360.com!"  WhaWhaWhat?  No freakin' way!  Sweet.

Whoever came up with this idea is a genius.  Any time you want to sell your new product or service, who are you going to call?  Obviously it would be the bearded wonder, Billy Mays!  Whatever he's selling, I'm buying.

"Live sports at work?  That's much better than work at work!"
"Now my job is way less soul crushing."

Thanks ESPN360.com!

UPDATE:  Holy crap!  There are 3 more ESPN360.com ads with Billy Mays that I never saw until yesterday.  I think the Office theme above is the still the best but the College theme is decent and the Billy Mays Intro with his family (all wearing beards) is pretty classic too.  So good!

Team Flight Brothers: 5'7" Area 51's 50+ Inch Vertical (INSANE!)

Team Flight Brothers did it again with another crazy video!  How do they keep finding these dudes?  I think all of the dunkers on their roster are half alien or some shit because the verticals on these guys are not human.

Speaking of aliens, above is a video of Chand aka Area51.  I guess the name fits him right.  This kid is 5'7" at best and he has a 50+ inch vertical jump!  He would absolutely DESTROY Nate Robinson in a battle of the little dunkers.  He is almost hitting his head on the rim and he could probably jump over Yao Ming (7'6") without having to jump off his back like Nate did to Dwight Howard.

Check out this still pic I grabbed of Area51's between the legs dunk towards the end of the video.  Not only did his head almost hit the rim but his foot is almost at the net!  WTF?!?!?  RIDICULOUS!!!

March Madness Begins! - New Adidas "Brotherhood" Ads (COOL)

2009 mens Final Four Logo Pictures, Images and Photos
Oh yeah!!!  March Madness is finally here!  I've been waiting for this moment to come for a few weeks now.  Today is the day you can finally start filling out your March Madness brackets and if you are like me, you will be in any and every pool you can find.  If you know of one that I can get into, let me know!  Ha Ha!

There isn't any better time of year in my opinion.  I love to watch all of the first round games starting at 12 PM on Thursday and Friday.  Yes, I'm technically at work but who cares!  Games are available through NCAA.com or through my SlingBox so I can watch every single game while I am "working" at my desk.  Everyone else is doing the same damn thing anyway.  It's not like it's a secret.  Productivity must grind to a halt across the US for those two days.  Just don't call or email me during that time because there is a 95% chance you won't get a response.

Adidas decided to launch a viral ad campaign to capitalize on the popularity of March Madness by using their roster of NBA players.  It's a pretty cool concept.  They take all of the superstar NBA players that never went to college (Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady, Josh Smith and Dwight Howard) and have them pick their favorite to win it all.  Considering they have no team affiliation, it's cool to get their opinions and see which team they will be rooting for.

They even give these guys jerseys of the team they picked with their name on the back to make you start daydreaming about what it would have been like had these guys actually gone to college. It's crazy to imagine how good all of these guys would have been had they gone to school for just a year or two.  We can only wonder what the NCAA Tournament would have been like during those years.  It would have been INSANE!!!

Also, here's a quick look at the Adidas Mad Clima College kicks that UCLA, Louisville and Kansas will be wearing during the NCAA Tournament.  You will notice that they promote 5 teams in the videos above but I was only able to find a solid pick of 3.  I also took a screenshot from the video:

Syracuse Defeats UCONN in Ridiculous 6 OT Thriller (UNREAL)

I am so pissed at myself for not watching the Syracuse vs. UCONN game last night.  I was tired as hell and went to bed at like 10 PM like a wuss and forgot to click over to ESPN for the Big East Tournament before I fell asleep.  Man, was that a mistake.  The game went to 6 Overtimes (!!!) and had to have been one of the best college games in recent memory (at least based on the highlights).Check out the ESPN SportsCenter video highlights above or you can watch a full replay tonight on ESPN Classic or at ESPN360.com

That was definitely a sick game and hopefully a sign of more things to come as the NCAA Tournament rapidly approaches.  I have been watching Syracuse over the past few weeks and they are hitting their stride at the perfect time.  They might lose tonight because they are so drained from last night's ridiculous game but look out for them in the tournament.  I have a funny feeling they could make it to the Elite 8 and surprise some higher ranked teams if they match up against them along the way.

UCONN on the other hand is starting to look like a high ranked team that will flame out early.  I could be completely wrong but I think they will be a flop in the tourney.  They have lost a few games in the past weeks and are starting to look like they are no longer a true #1 seed, in my opinion.  With their star player Jerome Dyson out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, they are slowly starting to unravel.  They may still end up getting the #1 seed from the tourney committee but it should probably be Louisville if they win the Big East Tournament.  I would be on the lookout for Louisville as well.  Those dudes are looking great lately and could easily end up in the Final Four if everything falls into place.  I can't wait to start filling out the brackets on Monday morning!!!

Apple Releases iTunes 8.1 and iTunes DJ Feature (COOL)

Photobucket
Apple released iTunes 8.1 last night with some much needed performance updates and a few extra features.  It used to take iTunes forever to load, especially if you had a large library of songs.  I have about 80 GB of music and movies on my MacBook and it probably took a good 30-45 seconds to get going.  That doesn't seem like a lot but it is an eternity when you just want to start playing some music.  It was painful.  I haven't downloaded the new version yet but based on comments I've seen in other articles, people are seeing a shift from 30-40 seconds to as little as 7 seconds to load now with iTunes 8.1.  That is a HUGE improvement.
Photobucket
The other interesting update was the addition of the iTunes DJ feature which was formerly named Party Shuffle (which SUCKED).  iTunes DJ allows guests to request songs with the Remote app using their iPhone or iPod Touch.  The Remote app allows them to find your iTunes library through WiFi.  Once they are connected, they can search your library of songs and pick which song to play next or add to the queue.  If there are enough people with either device, they can also vote a song up or down in the queue.  This will keep wack song selections to a minimum if the rest of your party has a clue about good music.

I'm not sure how much I like the idea of this feature since I am a DJ myself and would prefer to control the music and mix at my own parties but of course I do have the option to just shut it off. It's a control thing but also a trust factor since most people have TERRIBLE tastes in music but a lot of non-DJ's will probably like this addition.  It will help lazy people and/or nerds with no clue about music step their party up a bit and it will also bring a fun factor that might have been lacking at their lame wine and cheese party.

You will need to allow guests to access to your WiFi so you may need to remove your password for a night.  It should be worth it though since it will be a really cool addition to the party and can get everyone talking about music which can be fun and scary all at the same time.  Just pray that you don't have any Phish or Dead Head Freaks in the crowd or they will go on and on about some 40 minute jam session bootleg they downloaded from some dude in Germany.  Freakin' hippies!

For parties/BBQ's where it's just a chill atmosphere and I don't feel like putting together a huge playlist or have time to pre-mix tracks, this will be perfect.  A lot of my friends are lame and still don't have an iPhone or iPod Touch so it may not always work but it still could be cool if I just allowed people to select songs by using my iPhone.  That way I can relax and drink some beers and not worry about the music so much.  That always stresses me out, even when I'm not at my own house.  I can't stand crappy music at a party.  This could defintiely be a way for me to fix that problem at wack parties now!  FINALLY!  Let's just hope they have a few decent songs in their iTunes library.  Wack music libraries cannot be fixed by this update, unfortunately.

Dwayne Wade Scores 48 Pts. and Hits Game Winning Three vs. Bulls

Damn son!  D-Wade is on another level right now.  Dude had 48 points and 12 assists last night against the Bulls and was running the court like he was playing with middle schoolers.  To top it all off, he stole the ball with 2 seconds left in Overtime and ran down the court to nail a buzzer beating 3 pointer to win the game.  That is just ridiculous!

He is officially in the MVP conversation now even though he probably should have been considered all season long considering that he has kept the crappy Heat respectable all season long.  He has been averaging 37 points per game over the past 9 games and has been carrying the team on his back like a Monster.  You are witnessing some craziness right now with the elite play of Lebron James, Kobe Bryant and Dwaye Wade this season.  Pay attention because we may never experience anything like this again.

Lil Kim's First Appearance on Dancing With the Stars (DECENT)

No, I do not watch this awful excuse for a TV show. OK, I take that back.  I do watch a little bit of the first episode of the season once in awhile when the pre-wife demands to watch it. I like to at least check out the hot chicks they have on the show for the season and see how they look in those slutty little dresses.  That gets old after about 5 minutes though and then I start to fall asleep from being so bored. Other than that, Dancing with the Stars is a complete waste of time and will make you dumber and fruitier for watching it.

The reason why I am posting something about this awful show is the fact that it's somewhat Hip Hop related with Lil Kim being a contestant on the show this season. She actually looked decent (dancing at least) and much better than I expected considering she was the first contestant to perform. She even gave a shout out to all her girls at the Federal Detention Center. Classy.

I have to ask WTF happened to her face though? She doesn't even come close to resembling the foul mouth little diva that Biggie used to get with back in the day. She even talks like a white girl from the valley now. What happened to the Brooklyn accent? If he was still around today, I don't think he would be feeling her new look at all.  He would have told her to beat it a long time ago.

Check the transformation. It's sad, scary, gross and creepy all at the same time. At least her body is lookin' fly from all of that plastic surgery:

Rick Ross ft. John Legend - "Magnificent" (Official Video)

Say what you like about Rick Ross but through all of the madness over the past year, the big dude just keeps on making good ass music.  I love this new track "Magnificent" with John Legend.  This is going to be a great track to pump in the ride with the windows down once the spring and summer weather finally hits.  It's just a chill ass song to ride and vibe to.   The video is pretty dope too.

His lame beef with 50 Cent never seems to end and he still keeps catching heat for being a correctional officer in the past (not a cop like everyone makes it out to be) but he just keeps on pushing on.  Based on all of the other tracks I've heard from his new album "Deeper Than Rap" (dropping April 21), this one is going to be a banger.  BOSS!!!

The Roots are the House Band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon?!?! (SICK)

You read that right!  The Roots are now the house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon! I can't believe I forgot to write a post about this back when I heard about this in November.  I was skeptical about the new version of Late Night because I don't really think Jimmy Fallon is very funny but it's starting to look and sound like it has some potential.  The fact that I can see The Roots perform (even for just a few minutes) every night definitely intrigues me.  I might need to check this show out soon if I can actually stay awake that late.

This is one of the more interesting things to happen in Hip Hop in the past 6 months to a year, in my opinion.  I think this is huge because it gives you an idea of where the music industry is headed or at least let's us know that artists are worried about their future revenues and record sales.  Artists need to get creative if they are going to have any longevity in this game and this is a perfect example.  The fact that The Roots, who are one of the best live acts in Hip Hip and make a ton of money touring, are willing to forgo all of the potential revenue on the road for a consistent "corporate" gig should give you an idea of how bad it's getting for even established artists in the music industry.

They would rather see consistent money then be on the road all year long and I really can't blame them.  That's gotta be a tough way to make a living regardless of how glamorous it seems.  Record sales are WAY down and it's getting harder and harder to get any kind of marketing budget from the record labels to push your next project.  By playing on Late Night, The Roots get a chance to be seen by millions of people each night and can reach an even bigger potential audience than just touring all year long.  Plus they get to stay at home (or at least in NY) for months at a time as compared to being at home just weeks every couple of months when on the road.  It's crazy how well this could work out for them both in their revenue and quality of life.

I bet they will see a jump in their record sales of past albums at least in the short term and could even see an increase over the long term if they stay on the show.  Even though they are one of the better known (aka ONLY) "bands" in Hip Hop, they are still considered underground and they could use every bit of marketing that they can get.  Plus I heard that syndication money is ridiculous!!!  If the show goes that long, they could see some serious paper in the future without doing any work at all.  You can't beat that!

Here are a few articles and posts that I found about how the idea came about and how it's going with the new gig.  It sounds like they are busting their asses writing new material constantly and having to work all week but they seem to like it so far:

News: The Roots Discuss "Jimmy Fallon" House Band Gig, "It's Going To Be A Major Challenge"

Above is a video of a recent Ludacris performance on the show.  Luda was nasty as always and Black Thought did a great job of being hype man while The Roots crushed it on the beats.  Below are a few funny clips from the show as well.  The first is shit quality but it's another look at The Roots getting down while Cameron Diaz and Jimmy Fallon do a dance off.  This was actually way funnier than I expected.
This is a clip of Jimmy Fallon playing Serena Williams in a game of Beer Pong.  Classic!  Serena would F#%K up anyone on set too.  She is looking DIESEL these days.  Jesus.
