Thursday Throwbacks: Raekwon - "Incarcerated Scarfaces"

DAMN! I haven't seen the video for "Incarcerated Scarfaces" in the longest f'n time. This shit takes me back. We used to bump the shit out of this back in high school along with pretty much any other Wu Tang album we had on hand. They just don't make 'em like this anymore. Real shit.

Chris Webby - "Contradictory To Grown Ups" (NEW ISH)

I have to admit that I'm a little behind the curve on Chris Webby but he seems like he is going to be that next dude to blow up so I guess I better finally catch up. This is just a remake of Chiddy Bang's "Opposites of Adults" but he did a nice job of making it his own. This kid definitely has a nice flow with some interesting wordplay and punchlines. He might not be the best rapper I've ever heard but he has some serious potential and I like his creativity. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more of his shit.

Here are a few others that you might want to check out:

Les Twins & The Adidas Megalizer Beat Making Shoe (SICK)

So originally, I was going to just post the video above that I found yesterday of the sick dancing duo, Les Twins but then I did a little more digging and found some unreal shit I was never expecting. I guess these guys are pretty big in the dance scene and even did a commercial for the new Adidas Megalizer. I had actually never heard of this until now but it's a new shoe with technology that connects to your computer and allows you to make beats with your feet. That's some crazy shit! How have I not heard about this until now? I need to step my game up.

I'm so glad I didn't just stop at the first video or would have never found these gems.  These dudes are ridiculous!

You can check out more of their videos on YouTube at YakFilms.

Collie Buddz - "Playback" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I don't know about you but it's been awhile since I've heard some good new Reggae music. Have people lost interest or has there just been a lack of decent artists and songs other than the usual Dancehall club joints? I'm not sure there is a real answer but I thought I would hit you off with some dopeness from one of my favorite Reggae dudes, Collie Buddz to fill the void.  "Playback" is on some smooth laid back shit which is just what you would expect from him.  The video is kind of dope too.

You might remember Collie Buddz from his hit "Come Around" that was getting serious rotation on radio and video about 4 years ago. He's stayed kind of quiet over that time, at least within the mainstream but it sounds like he's ready to release some more hot shit. The dude definitely has some talent. Respect.

1 Year Old Baby Crushing It On the Dancefloor (FUNNY)

I guess there is a plethora of funny Hip Hop related baby videos today because here is another classic I stumbled upon. I have no idea how I found it but I have to say it's pretty f'n awesome. I know a lot of this was due to video editing but you can tell that this baby still has some good rhythm. There is almost nothing better than babies dancing to Hip Hop.  Love it.

Random Ish - The Neck Snapping Dunk & Baby Loves Cudi

I don't think these videos were good enough to stand on their own but when you combine them into a Random Ish post, they seem to work for some reason. This first one above is pretty self explanatory. The stupid shit held onto the rim too long and almost broke his neck. Nice one, dummy. There's a reason why God made it so you couldn't dunk. You obviously weren't smart enough to handle it. Clean it up.

Now that I have a kid, I probably find videos like this more amusing than most people but it is somewhat Hip Hop related so I'm sure you can get down. This is totally going to be my little guy in about a year when we start riding around town listening to some beats. He already got his first dose of Biggie the other day and there is more where that came from. He's gonna know how to bob his head to the beat like this little girl dancing to Cudi in no time.

Snoop Dogg Ft. Mr. Porter - "My Own Way" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

This is some of that non-commercial shit that Snoop fans have been craving for awhile now. "My Own Way" is just some laid back gangsta shit that is classic Snoop. By the way, the Doggumentary dropped today so go pick that shit up. It's solid from track 1 to 21. That's right. 21 tracks!

Air Jordan Retro I-XXII Stop Motion Video Using CDP's (DOPE)

"AIR JORDAN RETRO I-XXII STOP MOTION" from Michael Angeles on Vimeo.

I basically want every single shoe you see in here. A lot of people like the crazy colorways but I'm a big fan of the originals that were supposed to match Jordan's Bulls uniform. White/Black and Red is all I need to keep me happy. I am jealous as shit of this collection that was made up of all of the Countdown Packs (CDP) from I-XXII that came out a couple of years ago.  I was able to score the AJ III & XX CDP but if I had the money, I would have got them all like this dude.

Since we're on the topic of Jordan's, I thought I would hit you off with another video that I found randomly. There's nothing crazy going on here but I always like to see a fellow sneakerhead's collection and how they stock their shit. This video is from NikeTalk.com's Mr_V_Neck. He's got some heat in there so it's worth a look.

12 Year Old Trick Shot Quarterback Johnny Sullivan from Iowa (SKILLS)

Trick shot videos are a dime a dozen these days and I'm kind of sick of them but I though this one was kind of interesting because the kid is only 12 years old. Although Johnny Sullivan sounds like he should be from Southie he's actually a young QB from Iowa.

I have to give him some props because he looks like he's got some skills. I have no idea how long it took him to make these throws but even if it took dozens of attempts, it's still pretty impressive for someone his age. I was really impressed with the sequence where he threw 5 balls at the tackling dummy and hit a different target every time.  Very impressive. If he keeps it up, maybe we will hear about this kid one day in the future as the star QB for the Iowa Hawkeyes...

How to Dance to Dubstep - Cosby Style (AWESOME)

I have no idea how these "How to Dance to Dubstep" videos started but they have been slowly building in popularity over the past year or so and starting to explode in the past few months. I feel like I see a new one every few days.

Most of them are decent but not always worth sharing but this Cosby Style vid had me dying.  The video just goes perfectly with the music.  As soon as the music stopped and I saw the word "SWAG", I almost lost it.  Funny shit.

Here are a few of the more popular "How to Dance to Dubstep" videos. They are all pretty awesome.

Blake Griffin's Dunks Against the Lakers (HALF COURT ALLEY-OOP)

Let's start the week off right with some nasty Blake Griffin dunks from the weekend. Blake caught a nasty half court alley oop as well as this awful pass turned into a nasty dunk below. Beast mode...

Chris Brown Feat. Benny Benassi - "Beautiful People" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I don't know about you but I think this new Chris Brown track "Beautiful People" featuring Benny Benassi is pretty damn good. I'm starting to become a big fan of when Hip Hop and R&B artists get together with a Dance music producer (a la David Guetta and Akon, Flo Rida, etc.) and create some dopeness like this. Benassi always creates some hot tracks and this is certainly another one.  I'm not so sure about the excessive use of auto-tune on Brown's vocals but I will let it slide because I'm feeling it on this particular joint. I'll be on the lookout for the million of remixes that are bound to sprout up soon but I'm not sure many will be much better than the original...

News Reporter Fail Pt. 2 (AWFUL)

Here's another awesome news reporter fail for that azz. It's not quite as crazy as the chick who sounded like she was overtaken by the devil speaking in tongues and shit but this is still pretty awesome.  Luckily, he didn't have a very, very heavy burtation...

Was this dude just really nervous or something? These clowns can't think on their feet for shit so maybe he f'd up a section and couldn't get back on track.  It's also possible someone was just messing with the teleprompter like that clip from Anchorman where he reads his name as a question.  Either way, it's pretty awesome.  More of these please!

Blake Griffin's Nasty Putback Dunks Against the Wizards (HANGTIME)

You may have already seen this highlight of Blake Griffin's nasty putback dunk on SportsCenter but it's too nasty not to post up over here. This might be one of the best Blake Griffin dunks of the year. He took off from DEEP outside of the paint and hung in the air super long to catch it for the throw-down. In actuality, I think his timing was off because he started jumping before he even saw where the ball was going but because he has such hops, he just went up there and chilled for a minute while he waited for the rock to hit his hands. Unreal.

Here's another dunk from the same game against the Wizards in which his head is right at the rim. Nice.

Derrick Rose Throwing Down on the Kings (SICK DUNKS)

I forgot to throw up these highlights of Derrick Rose against the Kings from earlier in the week but I guess it's better late than ever. Obviously Blake Griffin is the best big man dunker (and probably just the best in game dunker) in the league right now but I think Derick Rose puts up a good fight to be considered the best dunking guard in the L. Dude has some ridiculous hops and isn't afraid to throw it down on the big guys or throw in a nice reverse on the break like this one above. His alley oop game is nice too.

Thursday Throwbacks: Snoop Dogg ft. The Dogg Pound & The Dramatics - "Doggy Dogg World"

Since I already posted some Snoop related shit, I thought I would hit you off with a classic from the Doggystyle album. "Doggy Dogg World" is probably the most underrated singles from the album since it was also the the last but I still think it's one of the best tracks on the album.  You've gotta love that old school Funk and R&B sound along with an appearance from the fabulous Dramatics.

"Doggy Dogg World" samples Richard "Dimples" Fields' "If It Ain't One Thing It's Another" from 1982. I've never heard it before but it's a smooth ass joint.

Snoop Dogg & Air New Zealand's Rico - "Hello Sunshine" (RANDOM)

I have no idea what this thing is or what he has to do with Air New Zealand but I have to admit, I think he's pretty awesome. I guess he's a big deal over there or something? Who knows. He was big enough to get Snoop on a track though and it actually sounded pretty good. It was better than a lot of shit I've been hearing lately.

My favorite part was in the beginning when turned around to stare at one of the hot broads by the pool at Snoop's house and he said:

"Nice backyard...REALLY nice backyard."

Here are Rico's thoughts on Kim Kardashian.  I feel you, my man.  I couldn't agree more...

Rodney Stuckey Posterizes Chris Bosh (SUCK IT)

I love nasty dunks like this one from Rodney Stuckey but it's even better when it comes at the expense of Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat. It's like a nice big F you to their arrogant asses. Bosh is so f'n soft. How do you let a Guard get to the hoop so easily and push you around like that?  It's just disgusting.

Wiz Khalifa - "Wake Up" (NEW ISH)

Damn Wiz! Dude is in the zone right now.  I'm definitely feeling this new joint "Wake Up". Rolling Papers is going to be ridiculous! Every single song I've heard so far has been pretty sick.  I can't wait to hear them all together as an album when it releases next week on March 29th.

Kanye West Performs "Hell Of A Life" At SXSW (COOL)

I'm still not really sure why this SXSW (South by Southwest) thing in Austin, TX is so big with well known artists lately since it's supposed to be an industry event that helps up and coming artists and music industry people network and connect. It seems strange that someone as big as Kanye would perform for other people in the industry but I guess I just don't understand it without actually being there. I think I am also a little jealous that there is so much cool music all in one place and I can't be a part of it because I'm stuck in a cube. Weak.

Javale McGee's Sick Block on Wesley Matthews (MUTUMBO STYLE)

Now that's how you do it! I always get pissed off when players like Dwight Howard try and send a block into the 5th row instead of trying to keep the ball alive. What's the point of giving the ball back to the other team when you could get a turnover?

Javale McGee's block on the Blazers' Wesley Matthews was exactly what I wish more players would do. Just go up and grab the damn ball from the offense and kick it out to the outlet for a fast break. Although the stare down was unncessary, it gave the play a nice Dikembe Mutumbo finger wagging feel.  I mean with a block like that, I think it warrants at least a little shit talk...

Snoop Dogg Ft. Kanye West & John Legend - "Eyez Closed" (NEW ISH)

Here's some new shit from Snoop most likely off of the Doggumentary album.  "Eyez Closed" is not the greatest song by any means but it's kind of catchy and it's cool to hear Kanye and John Legend on the same track as Snoop.  I could see this growing on me with more listens.

It also has an old school sound with a sample from a song that I can't quite place.  WTF is that?  That's going to piss me off for the rest of the day now.

The 'Boston Movie' Trailer (THIS WOULD BE AWESOME)

Oh shit! This looks dope!  Is it just me, or would you totally go see this movie if Hollywood actually made it?  The plot seems no worse than any of the originals.  I'm not gonna lie, I think I would pay to go see the movie in theaters even if they just kept using clips from all of the famous Boston movies and created a full length feature out of it just like this trailer.   You could even add in Gone Baby Gone and Mystic River for extra footage.  That would be creative as hell and also kind of funny. This needs to happen!

Blake Griffin's Monster Dunk That Was a Charge (STILL NASTY)

Even though this was actually called a charge, it still might be one of Blake Griffin's best dunks of the year. He took off from deep and without any contact, he would have thrown that down with authority. The Suns' Marcin Gortat did a pretty good job of getting his feet set to take the charge but the main issue is whether or not he got his feet outside of the circle. It kind of looks like his heels were still inside the circle without actually touching the floor so I have no idea how you call that. Either way, the play was sick.

I found this clip while searching for the one above. It's not a dunk but it shows Blake getting fired up and ready to fight Tony Battie for the flagrant foul that he and Jodie Meeks put on him. Blake takes a ton of contact every game and doesn't get too upset so he was bound to explode one of these times. Even though this wasn't the most violent foul, I think it was a lot of pent up frustration that finally set Griffin off. Dude was about to kill Battie's old ass.

Dr. Dre Ft. Swizz Beatz - "Chillin'" (DECENT)

I'm still not sure how I feel about this new Dre track "Chillin'" but at least it's some new material. Whether or not it's from Detox is another question. I have a feeling that since it has "leaked" it might just be a throwaway track. It doesn't sound good enough to make the album but it's decent enough. I wasn't feeling it at first but after a few listens, it got a little better. It's not my favorite but it's not the worst song I've ever heard from Dre either. It's just kind of "Meh".

I guess Scott Storch produced it supposedly too? Seems weird that Dre would let anyone else produce a song on his album at this point since it's taken about a decade. If he's not producing every single song, WTF took so long?!?!?

Austin Rivers Is Legit - Ranked #1 in High School Basketball (DOC'S SON CAN BALL)

I've been sitting on this video for awhile now since I wasn't really sure what to post but I think the highlights speak for themselves. If you are into hoops like me, you've probably already heard about the #1 high school basketball recruit in the country, Austin Rivers. In case you have not, just know that he is a very athletic 6'5" guard with a ridiculously quick crossover and a nice jumper.

He is also the son of Boston Celtics head coach Doc River so he also has some nice NBA blood lines. I'm sure it helps having an NBA coach as a father but I think Austin has been doing a lot of work on his own as well.  I've heard he comes to ball every game and is one of the hardest workers you'll ever find. He is going to be very difficult to stop next year while playing at Duke. I can't stand the Blue Devils but I might actually have to watch some games because I like this kid's game a lot.

2K Sports’ Top Spin 4 Commercial Featuring Serena Williams (SEXY)

DIZZAMN!!! That is some serious booty right there! I don't know about you but I am a serious fan of Serena Williams' body. Yes, she is super diesel and could probably beat the shit out of me but she's also got curves for days and there ain't nothing wrong with that. If you are going to promote a tennis game, this is the way to do it. I have no idea who the other chick is but she's pretty hot herself.

This game actually looks pretty damn good. I'll play tennis games once in awhile but haven't bought one in years but Top Spin 4 might be getting my $60 pretty soon. I need a new game and this might be it.

I think these screen shots sealed the deal for me:

Game - "All Dogs Go To Heaven" (NATE DOGG TRIBUTE)

I don't have much to say here other than it was cool of Game to put together a tribute track for Nate Dogg so quickly. I think a lot of rappers would agree with Game when he said "Now when I need a hook, who am I gonna call for?"

Chris Brown On the Newest Episode of Tosh.0 (KIND OF FUNNY)

Tosh.0 has been getting a lot of legit guest stars lately. The newest is Chris Brown who has been whoring himself out quite a bit lately to help promote his new album X that is due to release X. I don't know why he switched to the fruity Sisqo like blonde dye job but he needs to stop with that shit. He just looks dumb. Stick to what you know which is obviously dancing based on this video.

I don't even know what's going on here but at least Chris Breezy is showing his lighter side and having fun. He even threw in the Carlton from Fresh Prince dance during this "dance battle". You can't hate on the Carlton. That's a classic.

Rebecca Black's New Song "Friday" Mashed Up with the Movie Friday (FUNNY)

I have never heard this awful song called "Friday" by some broad Rebecca Black until just now but I guess it's blowing up on pop radio already. It will probably be a huge hit with annoying teenage girls so be prepared to hear this mindless shit over and over again at some point in the near future. Luckily, I have been able to avoid this crap it until now.

Mixing it up with video from the movie Friday defintiely makes it more palatable. Whoever made this remix definitely did a great job of picking some of the classic clips from Friday as well as matching up as much as they could with the lyrics. Well done. I wasn't expecting to like it but I ended up laughing quite a bit. It might only be because Friday is my favorite movie of all time but I have to think this would be funny to anyone that has ever seen the movie. Good shit...

Thursday Throwbacks: Lords of the Underground - "Chief Rocka"

Do I even need to say anything about this one?  "Chief Rocka" is just a 90's classic and possibly the best fast rhyming song of all time.  It's a perfect representation of Rap music at that time.  It might be a little dated but I still think it sounds pretty good today.  These dudes would run circles around any of these punks rappin' these days.

At one time I could actually sing along to every word but I'm a little rusty in my old age.  I actually get tired just thinking about trying to keep up. They just don't make them like this anymore:

[Verse One: Mr. Funke]
Boom shaka laka yo here comes the Chief Rocka
Rock it down, so jump up off the tip you're not my nucca
For sharper type to battle make the people say ooh ahh
Think I won't curse, I'll break down and say puta
?Hey, madrigon, sesa me bichafi mi chocha?
Say what I want because, I'm that type of guy
Now fam-a-lam, I'll be damned, slam jams the weak
Could it be the skunk weed that makes us oh so funky?
Now hold it let me choose, couldn't be the booze
No it's the shoes (the shoes?) It's gotta be the shoes!
Cause girlies, they clock, they stand around and jock
so I say boom shaka lak, grab the microphone then rock
To tell you the truth, when on the mic
I'll say anything that sounds good
Like jump and a grump and sound over some uhhh!?
The Cat in the Hat and the mouse ran up the stairs
"That doesn't make no sense!" C'mon who cares?
See even without the gift there's yours so don't be tryin to knock me
I say what I want to say, as long it sounds funk
Some MC's wanted to buy me, so they try to take stands
But they don't understand, I'm the motherfuckin man
I amaze and astound, rhythm up and down
Smack a group of them around, let them know who wears the crown
Who's-the-tip-of-the-top, the-cream-of-the-crop, the-best-under-the-sun?
I'm the Lord Chief Rocka, number one, Mr. Funke, uhh

Dwyane Wade Posterizes Kendrick Perkins With a Riduclous Spin Move and Dunk (LOOK OUT)

Damn son! WTF just happened, Perk? Good lord. I know you just recovered from another knee injury but you just can't let that happen.  Period. At least push Wade in the stomach while he is up in the air about to tea bag you so he doesn't make the dunk. Even though Kendrick is on another team now, I don't want to see him getting smashed on like that.  That shit ain't cool.

Where's the Stephon Marbury crying face when you need it? Oh, there it is!

Leprechaun in Mobile, Alabama; Plus Bonus Rap Remix (HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY)

Yup. It's that time of year again. Put on your green, drink a ton of Guiness and get shitty.  No one really cares if you are Irish or not because everyone will be too drunk to give a shit.  This is one of the best day's of the year!

Seriously though. Will this classic video of the Leprechaun in the hood of Mobile, AL ever get old? I'll post this every year until the day I die. This shit is unreal. Just pure comedy gold. You can't make this stuff up.

- Dude with tilted hat and gold tooth: "Who else seen the Leprechaun, say YEAH!!!"
- Crowd Response: YEAAAAHHH!!!

- Lady with fake nails in car: "It could be a crackhead that got a hold of the wrong stuff...and it told him to get up in a tree and play a leprechaun" (HA HA!)

- Dude with dreads and sunglasses: "I'mma run a backo and uproot that tree. I WANNA KNOW WHERE DA GOLD AT!!!"

Greatest March Madness Moments Legoized (AWESOME)

Although the NCAA Tournament kind of already started last night with the first two play-in games, the official tournament that everyone recognizes begins tomorrow at 12 PM.  To get you ready for the madness, I thought I would hit you off with this awesome new video I found with some of the best March Madness moments of all time reenacted using Lego figures.  I have no idea who made this but I give them mad props for doing so.  This must have taken forever to create considering it was done in stop animation and every single movement was recorded separately.  Unreal!

Nate Dogg Dead at 41 (R.I.P. TO THE VOICE OF G-FUNK)

Damn.  Today is a sad day.  News just hit a few hours ago that Nate Dogg has died of a heart attack.  He's had problems with his heart for awhile now so this isn't exactly a shock but it's always a shock when you hear about one of your favorite artists passing away. As the Hip Hop genre continues to age, so does it's stars.  Unfortunately, far too many have passed away at a fairly young age.

Pour out a little liquor from your 40 oz. because we have lost a great voice in the Hip Hop game.  I grew up in the 90's singing along to Nate's simple but effective hooks on almost every G-Funk hit from that time.  Death Row owned the charts back then and it seemed like Nate was on every other song.  He was probably most popular for his work on Warren G's "Regulate" but he had been putting in work ever since.  It's actually ridiculous how many songs that he's been featured on have gone to to the top of the charts.  It's almost like it was an instant hit with Nate on the hook.  He most recently appeared on Dr. Dre's "Kush" and I'm sure he will be prominently featured on Dre's new Detox album as well.

Here are some of my favorite Nate Dogg songs and features to help celebrate his great career.  He will be severely missed.  R.I.P. big homey!

Kanye West ft. Lil Wayne, Big Sean & Drake - "All Of The Lights Remix" (NICE)

Here's a hot new remix to one of my favorite tracks out right now, "All of the Lights".  I'm not yet sick of the original even though it's on the radio all the time but it will be nice to have another option to add into the iPod rotation.  I thought Lil Wayne still sounded super annoying (I think I'm done with him) but Drake stepped up his lyrical game quite a bit and it was nice to hear a fresh voice with the appearance of Big Sean.  I feel like we don't hear many good remixes of hit songs these days so it was nice to hear one that came out sounding dope while keeping a similar vibe of the original.

Justin Darlington Dunks Under Both Legs While Clearing A 6'2 Guy (SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT)

Good lord!  Just when you think you've seen it all, someone like Justin Darlington comes around and pulls off one of the craziest dunks I've ever seen.  The dude almost got his entire body over the 6'2" dude standing below him and for good measure, brought the ball underneath his legs before he threw it down!  WOW. Did you see how high his body was?  He was looking down THROUGH the rim because his head was so high.  It's like he was floating.  Just ridiculous! Photobucket

UNC's Dexter Strickland Dunks Hard on Kyle Singler (RIDICULOUS)

I meant to put this up yesterday but zoned out and completely forgot until I saw another clip of it on PTI last night.  Better late than never, I guess.  You might not have seen this dunk by UNC's Dexter Strickland on Duke's Kyle Singler from the ACC Championship game on Sunday because it technically didn't count.  The refs called a bullshit offensive foul call on Strickland instead of a block on Singler.

College basketball really needs to implement the hashed circle down low in the paint like the NBA because calls like this are just dumb.  Singler was basically under the basket just waiting which is ridiculous. The offensive player should be able to make any move once you are that close to the basket.  The rule as it is set up now stifles offense and rewards crappy and lazy defense.  Strickland almost completely jumped over Singler and just barely grazed his shoulder.  That should have been a no call or a blocking foul at best.  That was just stupid.  This is one of the best dunks of the NCAA season and it didn't even count...

Mac Miller - "Donald Trump" (OFFICAL VIDEO)

I've known about Mac Miller for a little while now but I never remember to download any of his mixtapes.  My brother hit me off with a copy of his new release Best Day Ever the other day and I have to admit, the shit is pretty damn hot.  One of the best songs from the album/mixtape is "Donald Trump". The video has already gained 1.5 million views in just 11 days. For an underground artist with little to know marketing, that is unbelievable!

Although he's got a weird sound going on (it's almost like a slight lisp mixed in with a permanent cold and too much saliva) he's got a sick flow and some nice wordplay.  He's been huge on the college scene for awhile now and is building his underground buzz more and more each day.  I fully expect him to be the "next big thing" on the Hip Hop scene over the next year or so.  I guess you could say he's already there but he needs to release an official record before that is complete.

Being friends with Wiz Khalifa doesn't hurt his chances for success either. Wiz is featured on the track "Keep Floatin'" and they have collaborated on numerous tracks in the past.  If he can snag just a small percentage of his fan base, the dude will be doing alright.  Who would have thought that the Pittsburgh area rap scene would ever blow up?  Shit's crazy.

DJ Premier Talks About His Custom Nike Air Force 1's (FRESH)

I first blogged about the DJ Premier Custom Nike Air Force 1's back in January of 2010.  This video from VladTV.com gives a closer look at the shoe, as well as a quick little interview with Premo as to how the whole collaboration came about and how DJ AM influenced his decision to do his own shoe.

I would love to get my hands on a pair of these but they are so exclusive, it's not even worth the effort or price.  These things will go for mad $ on the secondary market.  So fresh!

More Blake Griffin Dunks to Start the Week (MONSTER)

I'm a little busy this morning and don't have time to search for something cool so I thought some new Blake Griffin dunks would do the trick.  This "trailer" above for the fake movie Battle: Los Angeles is pretty cool.  Props to the person who runs the BlakeGriffinChannel on YouTube for putting this together.  That was very well done.

Here are a few more highlights of Blake destroying the Nets and Wizards with some violent dunks over the past few games.

Dr. Dre - I Need A Doctor (Explicit) ft. Eminem & Skylar Grey (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I missed when the video "I Need a Doctor" first released a few weeks ago but I thought it would be a good way to end the week since it's one of the best songs out right now.  I'm still having trouble believing that Dre is finally releasing the Detox album since he's been messing with us for the past decade but I'm pretty sure 2 singles and 2 videos is enough confirmation but I won't fully believe it until I have the album in my hands.

This video is crazy though.  Very well done and perfect for the song.  Someone is finally telling a story for once like they used to do back in the day.  And how f'n diesel is Dre?  Good lord.  Dude is a monster.  I also saw three strategically placed product placements for the HP tablet, K-Swiss sneakers and Gatorade.  That's how you make that money.  Damn!

Nike Air Max Penny 1 “Orlando” Retro (DOPENESS)

One of my favorite non-Jordan retros drops tomorrow in the form of the Nike Air Max Penny 1 "Orlando".  I've missed out every retro of this shoe over the past few years for one reason or another (usually it was because my dough was low) but I'm not letting the opportunity pass me by this time around.  Best believe these will be copped and in my closet by tomorrow afternoon at the latest.

This shoe looks good in almost every colorway but nothing can mess with the original Black/Varsity Royal-White colorway that you see here.  Penny Hardaway made these famous back in 1996 when he was at his peak in popularity playing with Shaq on the Orlando Magic.  He also had a ton of classic commercials starring Chris Rock as Lil Penny.  Whatever happened to good sneaker commercials like this?

Here's a few more detailed pics of this classic.  These will be available for only $125 tomorrow in most of your local sneaker spots.  Actually, it looks like it's already available online at FootLocker.com, Eastbay.com, etc.  Nice!  I can't wait to lace these up...

2011 Miami Heat "Clutch" Reel (AKA THEY SUCK IN CLOSE GAMES)

Bravo to whoever put together this "highlight" reel of the Miami Heat failing to win in almost every close game this season.  According to the video description, the Miami Heat have made 1 out of 18 shots in the last 10 seconds of a game when tied or down 1-3 points. The video includes all 17 of their misses. Classic!

I know it's the cool thing to jump on the Heat hating bandwagon but I've been driving the bus since day 1 so get off my dick.  These dudes are so f'n cocky and are so far removed from reality that they need a dose of haterade once in awhile to wake them the F up. I can't wait until they lose in the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs...

Guy Dupuy's Between The Legs and Over a Convertible Dunk (WHAT BLAKE GRIFFIN SHOULD HAVE DONE)

And that's how you do it!  Wow.   I'm sure most of you have seen this dunk from Guy Dupuy by now since they showed it on SportsCenter all last night and this morning but it's still worth throwing up because of how f'n awesome it is. Here's another angle:

Obviously this dunk has been done before but Dupuy does it the best by far. Here is a cool compilation of the best car jumping dunks:

Now on to the obvious. This is the dunk Blake Griffin should have done because let's be honest, the car jumping dunk he did in the NBA Dunk Contest just wasn't as impressive as everyone made it out to be. It was a fairly simple dunk and he jumped over the hood of a small sedan that was low to the ground and kind of jumped to the side of it at that. Had he thrown in a little extra with a windmill or something, it would have been more impressive. Obviously if Griffin didn't have to worry about a serious injury and potentially losing millions of dollars because of it, I'm sure he would have tried something a little more difficult.

Dupuy and other professional dunkers really have nothing to lose so they are willing to try all of the crazy shit you would only see in video games a couple of years ago. Can we just let these guys in the dunk contest already? Pros vs Amateurs. That would be sick.

I have to give the NBA a little bit of credit because they are starting to realize how good these professional dunkers are and how entertaining they can be. They actually allowed the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown inside the building this year. They usually make them do it outdoors and it barely gets any coverage. Why couldn't they replace the awful shooting contest with this? I don't think anyone would be upset. That shit is painful. Now this is a dunk contest:

If you've been coming to DjRyB.com for awhile, you know that I've been posting Guy Dupuy's dunks for awhile so it's nice to see him finally get some shine on the national level. The dude is easily one of the best dunkers in the world. His hops are insane and his creativity and execution are off the charts. Here are a few Dupuy classics:

Thursday Throwbacks: KRS-One "Step Into A World (Rapture's Delight)"

Yes yes y'all, ya don't stop, KRS-One, rock on!
Yes yes y'all, ya don't stop, KRS-One, rock on!

I'm bout to hit you wit that tradional style of cold rockin
Givin options for head knockin non stoppin
Tip-toppin lyrics we droppin but styles can be forgotten
so we bring back the raw hip-hoppin...

That's that shit right there!  I freakin' love this song.  This was my joint back in 1997.  I'd always throw it on to get hyped up for a game or just wake up from a shitty mood.  Even though the hook is kind of laid back and it utilizes a sample/interpretation of Blondie's pop hit "Rapture", it's straight fight music once that beat kicks in.

It's one of those songs that everyone seems to forget about but they will go nuts once they actually hear it.  I used to throw this on every few months while DJ'n at the club just to keep everyone on their toes and it would always get the place going crazy.  It might have started a fight or two but it was worth it for the energy it brought to the room.

In case you don't remember Blondie's "Rapture" or are too young to have ever heard it, check out the video below.  Although Debbie Harry's rapping is painful, in a weird way it kind of helped Rap music as a whole.  This was one of the first real mainstream songs to introduce rapping to the masses so it should get at least some street cred for that.  If for nothing else, it's worth watching for the goofy looking Flava Flav wannabe dancing like a fool...

DJ Kitty Killin' It Behind the Decks (FUNNY)

I know this is on some dumb shit and I hate cats so this is really stepping out of my comfort zone but it was too funny to pass up.  Anything that's DJ related will at least catch my interest initially.  Luckily, this one paid off because it was pretty funny.

Had it not been for the wardrobe of a Tampa Bay Devil Rays hat and shirt plus the dope chain, I don't think this would have worked.  Someone in the comments said that they play this at Devil Rays games during rallies but that cannot be confirmed nor denied at this time.  The Rays need all the help they can get this season so if they don't use it already, they certainly should.  It could be like their own version of Anaheim's Rally Monkey.

This also reminded me of the DJ Greyboy's awesome French Bulldog Mama who has some nice scratchin' skills.  She kills it on the 1's and 2's!

Trailer for 50 Cent's New Movie "Things Fall Apart" (LOOKS HORRIBLE)

Wow.  This looks pretty bad.  I mean, this is as low budget and cliche as it gets.  I know that 50 funded this movie on his own but maybe he should have gotten a little more help from outside investors.  I know the trailer looks like shit because of the quality of the upload but even so, you can still tell that something is just off.  On top of that, the acting looks horrible, and the props and costumes are pretty subpar.  Did you see 50's dreadlocks in the beginning?  Holy shit!  It's like they just grabbed a wig from the local iParty and called it a day.  It looks ridiculous!

If you didn't hear about it before, this is the movie that 50 Cent lost 50+ pounds for back in May of last year.  I'll give 50 props for taking the role so seriously that he lost the weight but maybe it should have been for a more legit movie.  It seems like a waste to do it for this garbage.  Surprisingly, he had a few decent actors in the movie with Ray Liotta and Mario Van Peebles but I'm sure it wasn't too hard to get them.  Neither of them is exactly tearing it up these days with their acting gigs.

Eminem feat. B.o.B. - "Things Get Worse" (DECENT)

There's nothing ground breaking here but it's nice to hear two of my favorite rappers on the same track.  Em sounds like he's using his old style so I think this might be a couple years old.   It was probably a throw away track from one of his crappy albums before Recovery.

I'd like to see these two get together on a newer song since I think their styles could mesh well.  Based on the quality songs that these two have been putting out lately they could probably produce a nice little hit together.  Both of their fan bases would buy that shit in a second.  Until then, this will do...

5'11" Jacob Tucker Is a Sick Dunker (WHITE BOY WITH HOPS)

I love it when my fellow white boys with hops actually get some shine when they have dunking skills.  It's even better when they are only 5'11", have a 50" vertical and can throw down ridiculous dunks like this!

Jacob Tucker is a senior at Illinois College and he put together this dunk highlight video to try and get into the 2011 NCAA dunk contest.  The competition is always tough because it includes the best dunkers picked from all of the D1 schools which means there are ton of great athletes to choose from.  Hopefully this campaign helps him get in.  The NCAA would be dumb not to give him an invitation considering he has 1+ million views on YouTube and has already been interviewed on ESPN and CNN.  He has some hype around his name so it would bring extra viewers to the competition.

I really think he would have a good chance at winning if he made it in. Not only can he jump high but he also has some nice swagger and a ton of creativity.  He actually threw down a couple of dunks that I haven't seen too often which is pretty tough to do these days.  Even if it had been done before, he still put his own stamp on it.  The best dunk was by far his last where he did a 360 between the legs dunk like it was straight out of a video game.  That shit was sick!

Shaq Thinks He Could Have Helped Save The Notorious B.I.G.'s Life (INTERESTING)

You might have already seen this clip on SportsCenter or Outside the Lines but I thought it was worth throwing up on the anniversary of Biggie's death.  I can't believe it's already been 14 years. Damn.  I get depressed every time I get reminded of it this time of year.  Based on this clip, obviously Shaquille O'Neal gets even more depressed because his birthday is just 3 days before the incident that he could have been involved in.

I had no idea Shaq was supposed to be with Biggie that day.  No one knows whether or not it would have deterred the shooter if Shaq and his security were around but it's very possible.  At the same time, I think that it's more likely that the shooter would have just taken out as many people as possible since they obviously didn't value anyone's life. It sucks to have to relive the story but it's certainly interesting.

Here is the song that Shaq and Big did together back in the day.  This is from Shaq's severely underrated You Can't Stop the Reign album from 1996. Shaq was just starting to find his groove as a rapper and he had some unbelievable guest rappers and producers. I still pop this in once in awhile and it actually holds up quite a bit. Biggie absolutely destroyed his verse and could be one of the best verses that wasn't on one of his own albums..

Here's a few other classics to help celebrate the career and life of the late, great, Notorious B.I.G.

Usher - "More" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Yeah, I know this sounds exactly like every other song on the radio right now and Usher's basically been making the same song with a slight variation for the past two years but I don't really care.  I just like it.

What can you do?  Sometimes the super commercial and poppy shit just catches your ear and you can't help but get lured in by it.  I've always been an Usher fan so maybe that is why I am letting it slide and not calling him out for changing from real R&B over to Dance/Pop to rejuvenate his career?  Well, I guess I just did but I will pretend I didn't say anything.  Usher is still the shit...

High School Basketball Coach Hits Buzzer Beating 3 Pointer In Last Game (YOU READ THAT RIGHT)

I had trouble coming up with a title that made sense for this video since this is so out of the ordinary but also pretty cool.  So in case you couldn't figure out what I meant, here is a quick breakdown.  Robin Kelsch is the head coach for the Augusta High School basketball team in Augusta, Kentucky.  It was known that he was planning to retire after 13 seasons of coaching after this final game. Along with his players, he planned this last second play if everything worked out as they had hoped.  Luckily, the other team missed a free throw, Augusta got the rebound and quickly pushed it up court to hit their coach for the open three pointer.

I assume the players told the other team and the refs because it appears that everyone played along nicely and one of the refs even threw his arms up to signal the three pointer was good.  Even the fans sounded like they knew it was coming.  The fact that everyone let this happen was pretty cool but it was taken to the next level by coach Kelsch actually hitting the deep three.  Very impressive!   That's a movie ending right there.

Aubrey O'Day Bleeds Green? Gets Nekked for Celtics Photo Shoot (HOT)

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
I'm still not sure why this chick Aubrey O'Day is still relevant (She was in the group Danity Kane that was semi-famous from the show Making the Band with Diddy back in 2008) but she got my attention with these pics.  I guess she did a photo shoot for the Celtics recently and this is one of the outtakes.  She's a Celtics fan?  That's news to me.  At least we know Maria Menounos is a C's fan because she wears green and goes to games.  It seems like Aubrey is trying to take advantage of the Celtics popularity to help her own career.  She's from California!  WTF?  Lakers fans must be pissed.

I have no idea why the Celtics would agree to that since she's basically naked and she also is not really well known by anyone but she is pretty f'n hot so I guess I shouldn't be complaining.  Any hot bitch that's a fan of the C's is a friend of mine.  I'm looking forward to seeing the full photo shoot so I can get a glimpse of that fine ass in green a few more times...

Wiz Khalifa - "Roll Up" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I posted one of Wiz Khalifa's new songs "Big Screen" a few weeks ago when it first leaked out and although I was a little thrown off by the more commercial R&B sound, I thought it was a pretty dope track.  It seems like he is sticking to that theme with the release of his new single "Roll Up".
Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
I think it's a pretty solid choice for the next single on his upcoming album Rolling Papers which drops March 29th now that he's got a pretty diverse fan base. "Black & Yellow" took over the charts a few months ago and although it's not a typical sounding single, it seemed to click with a variety of people, including the ladies.  Now he is taking advantage of his popularity by releasing something that's a little more radio friendly that should help him keep those new female fans.

A lot of his true fans probably won't like the fact that he has gone a little more commercial lately but it's all about selling records and making money, right?  You have to strike while the iron is hot which isn't long in the fickle music business these days.  It's even worse with Hip Hop.  If you haven't had a hit single in the past 6 months, people forget about you immediately.  It's sad but true.

At least he threw some of those complainers a bone and gave us a look at Cassie's fine ass in the video.  She can't sing for shit but she is certainly hot as shit...

C's Beat Bucks; Pierce Throws Down A Sick Dunk (IN THE ZONE)

I don't know what's up with Pierce this season but he looks like he added about 5" to his vertical.  He was never much of a leaper so it's kind of crazy to see him throwing down dunks like this as he gets older.  He is definitely in great shape this year and that has to be part of it but I would like to know what his secret is and if he's been focusing on jumping exercises specifically.  He has thrown down some of the best dunks of his career this season which is pretty insane.
Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
He had a plethora of highlights in last night's game against the Bucks.  He threw a sick behind the head pass to Kristic which was nice (and also would have been a turnover had it been stone hands Perkins) and also had another spin move on the post to blow past his defender.  He only had 23 points but it felt like more because there were so many nice plays.

Pierce is starting to play his best ball of the season at the right time.  The team is playing well and even winning games where they let the other team get back in the game after a large lead which would have been a loss the past few seasons.  It's all about timing.  If they can get fully healthy, I don't think anyone can mess with the C's right now.  And other than Big Baby, no one is crying in that locker room after a regular season loss like the bitch ass Heat.

George Mason's Green Machine Band plays Kanye's "Power" (SICK)

I don't know how this video has only 1,500 views right now but we need to get the word out because this is the shit!  As one of the commenters said "No one band should have all that power!"

I wasn't really sure what to expect at first since sometimes a large band like this can sound like garbage when remixing a Hip Hop song but they absolutely killed it.  It helps that Kanye's "Power" is a pretty musical song with lots of layers and instruments.  Once that beat kicked in, I was hooked.  I can't stop listening to this now.

If I was a member of the George Mason basketball team and heard this coming out of a timeout, I'm pretty sure I would immediately go take a charge or try and throw down a nasty dunk on the opposition's biggest dude because of all of the adrenaline running through me.  This shit would make you run through a wall.

Back in high school, we had our school's jazz band play for warm ups and although it seemed kind of dorky at the time, it was actually pretty awesome looking back on it now.  They would play the Rocky theme as we came storming out of the locker room and that shit would get the place hype and have the team all fired up.  It's kind of crazy how much of a difference live music makes, regardless of what's being played.  The energy is just unreal.

Guess Who's Bizack!?!?

Guess who's bizack?
You still smellin' crack in my clothes,
Don't make me have to relapse on these hoes...

I'm back at it bitches.  After a two week hiatus with a few posts here and there, I'm officially back in the zone and fully committed to DjRyB.com.  I spent two weeks with my new baby boy Lil' Dj RyB and now I'm back and reinvigorated.  I'll be updating the site on a more regular basis from here on out or until I have to go change some more dirty diapers...

Keenan Cahill's Remix of DJ Pauly D's Beat Dat Beat (FUNNY)

This has been out since early February and I'm a little pissed that I missed it because it is another Keenan Cahill classic.  When you combine two super awkward videos like this, you get pure comedy gold.  I love that he mixed in DJ Pauly D's awkward video that he made using his low quality computer camera.   He also gets extra points for rocking the "It's T-Shirt Time" T-Shirt.  Good shit.

Other than the video he did with 50 Cent a few months ago, this might be my favorite of the Keenan collection. Keenan is certainly awkward but he is officially the man and is a legit D List celebrity.  Who would have seen that coming?  Keep doing your thing, little man!
