Derrick Rose: adidas adiZero Crazy Light Commercial - "What's in a Number" ft. Big Sean's "I Do It" (HOT)

You might have seen this new adidas ad featuring D. Rose during last night's game.  It's simple but effective.  I like how they make quick cuts between game highlights and D. Rose walking through the city of Chicago.  The beat is from Big Sean's "I Do It" and really pulls it all together.  Dope!

Invitation to the ShoeZeum (FINALLY)

Ah!  Now it all makes sense.  I was wondering why I couldn't find out how to visit the ShoeZeum. Now I know the opportunity wasn't available.  Now the owner is offering up a tour of this masterpiece through an auction on eBay.  I know I said I would pay a decent amount to see this place but I'm not paying $200+ which is what the current bid is.  I'm all set with that.

I think this guy is missing out on a huge opportunity to make money off of sneakerheads though.  If he opened it up like a real museum, he could charge about $20 a head and make some nice money.  We will have to wait and see if he ever does that.  I'll just stick to watching the videos for now.

Click here and here to check out my previous posts on the Shoezeum with some more vids.  Check out eBay for the auction

Snoop Dogg Gets Custom Made adidas Originals; Plus the Blast by Colt 45 Photo Shoot ft. Estevan Oriol and Rosa Acosta (COOL)

Snoop has been in full force promoting the new Blast by Colt 45 drink. If you haven't heard, it's basically a Four Loko rip off except without the caffeine. Even though it might not be as big of a viral hit because it doesn't fuck you up as much as Four Loko, I'm sure it will find some success because of their association with Snoop.

The video above is a behind the scenes look at the Blast photo shoot featuring the fine asses of Estevan Oriol and Rosa Acosta. Below is a somewhat related video of Snoop at an event that looks like it's promoting a little bit of everything. He got his own custom shoe from adidas with a matching Dogg House shoe box, and he also performed in front of a few lucky people who were drinking Colt 45 products.

adidas Originals - adicolor x Dwight Howard ft. Childish Gambino's "Freaks & Geeks" (AKA DONALD GLOVER FROM 'COMMUNITY')

Yes, you heard me right. The soundtrack to this new adidas commercial featuring Dwight Howard is from the one and only Donald Glover from Community. WTF?!?! I had to double check that to make sure it was right. I had no idea he rhymed. And his shit is actually decent! Who knew.

I guess he actually has a decent little following going for himself too. He goes by the name Childish Gambino which he came up with using a Wu Tang Clan name generator. Wow. That's pretty random and kind of awesome. This is on par with finding out that one of your best friends from college or work is actually a twin. It just freaks you out. Considering I was a fan of Glover's work on Community, this completely caught me off guard. I have to admit he's got a decent flow too. He's rapping about some crazy weird shit but I actually like it. At least he's being himself and doing something different.

Here is the full video for "Freaks & Geeks". It's simple but kind of cool.

Shout out to Shabooty.com for putting me on to this.

adidas Originals 'adicolor Royal' Commercial Ft. "Gone" by Donnis (COOL)

I've been feeling this new adidas commercial for awhile now.  It's just a smooth and simple commercial that highlights all of their Royal shoes and apparel but it also has a dope soundtrack with a song called "Gone" by Donnis.  I didn't know about him before but I'll definitely be looking for his shit from now on.  That's a catchy ass song.

Here's the official video for "Gone" which is also pretty cool.

Merry Kicksmas from Foot Locker (COOL NEW COMMERCIALS)

I had no idea what was going on with this new Foot Locker Reindeer commercial the first time I saw it last night during the Cavs/Heat game but I thought it was cool since it was sneaker related.  I didn't catch on to the fact that the kid was holding Santa's Reindeer hostage until he received all of the kicks he wanted from Santa using a ransom note.  Well played!  I don't know how I missed that the first time.

The other Foot Locker ad with Santa was a little more straightforward.  I love that he is huffing the new sneaker smell from a pair of Reebok Zig Tech's and gets caught by the kid who is more concerned about the shoes than seeing Santa.  It's also nice to see commercials actually using Christmas and it's symbols again.  I was getting really sick of that generic Happy Holidays shit.

Dwight Howard: Sneaker Stories (ADIDAS TS BEAST)

Here's a quick clip of Dwight Howard making of fun of Stan Van Gundy and talking about his new shoe from adidas "The Beast".  I'm never usually a fan of big man shoes but these are looking pretty solid.  These aren't too crazy looking and they look real solid for anyone with weak ankles.  I could definitely see myself rockin' a pair of these for the new old man hoops league.  I'd probably go with the all black joints first but even the White/Black and Blue home colorway is solid.

The adidas TS Beast drops on 11/12 at retailers nationwide for $100.

Derrick Rose and Slim Chin: adiZero Rose Commercial (FUNNY)

I think this new adidas commercial is kind of dumb but I find myself liking it more every time I see it.  I have no idea why and I'm probably dumber for watching it but what can you do.  I guess that's what they call effective advertising these days.

The Adizero Rose kicks do look pretty legit though.  I'd defintiely ball in these all day.

adidas Originals MEGA Diner 2010 Ad ft. B.o.B. (COOL)

This isn't the best sneaker ad I've ever seen but you never see many on TV these days so I thought it was worth a post.  Plus it features my boy B.o.B. and his track "Magic" which is kind of cool.

Here's the official description from the video's YouTube page:

The adidas Originals MEGA Diner is officially open and ready for biznazz. We've taken two of our house specialties, the Torsion and Softcell, and supersized them, never skimping on style, to make for a massive, mouth watering moment in footwear. Get in line with Paul Iacono for your own tasty MEGA Special, served up fresh by B.o.B. behind the grill. Enter the MEGA Diner online and our smokin' hot waitress will take your order, leaving it to B.o.B. to deliver a custom MEGA Special personalized for you and your friends. It's the biggest, baddest, freshest thing we got. Get it while it's hot!

Check out more at: http://www.adidas.com/MEGAdiner

I would highly recommend checking out the Diner because the waitress has some serious B.o.B.'s (Bombs over Baghdad) herself...

Solemart Paris Recap Video (OLD SCHOOL KICKS)

Solemart Paris went down a few weeks ago but I just stumbled across this video the other day.  There is some dude babbling in French around the 1 minute mark that you may want to skip past but other than that the video is solid.

There are some serious throwback joints in this collection of kicks that bring me back to the good old days like the Ewings (brand name and Adidas version), Dikembe Mutombo's signature Adidas, various Reebok Pumps including cross trainers, tennis and basketball versions, Nike Air Flight Lites and of course some of the original Air Jordans.

My favorite of the whole bunch might be the David Robinson Nike Air Force 180 Pump joints that show up around the 3:45 mark.  They look absurd now because they are the size of a military boot and super clunky but back in the day these were some of the hottest basketball shoes you could buy.  I remember when I saw them for the first time on the feet of my best friend's older brother and I almost lost my mind.  They were so fresh!

adidas Originals - "Star Wars™ Cantina 2010" Featuring Snoop, Daft Punk & Ciara (COOL)

I'm not a big soccer guy but I have to admit that I do get into the World Cup.  I used to play soccer as a youngin' so I can respect the sport a little bit and I at least know when it's being played at a high level.  I'm certainly not going to follow all of those European leagues or even MLS but I have no problem paying attention for a few weeks every 4 summers.

Adidas put together a cool little video to get everyone fired up for the World Cup in which they remix the classic bar scene from Star Wars by adding in some celebrities and soccer stars from today.  Here's the summary from YouTube with a list of all the special guests.  There's definitely some randoms in there:

"adidas Originals invites you to join David Beckham, Daft Punk, Snoop Dogg, Franz Beckenbauer, Noel Gallagher, Ian Brown, Ciara, Jay Baruchel, DJ Neil Armstrong and some of your dear, old friends for an intergalactic 2010 FIFA World Cup™ viewing party that you'll never forget."

Adidas TS Supernatural Commander & Creator St. Patricks Day Edition (FRESH)

St. Patrick's Day always brings a ton of fresh green colorways and this year is no exception. Adidas is always a big participant in the custom holiday joints and they bring some heat with the adidas TS Supernatural Commander St. Patricks Day kicks.

Kendrick Perkins and Kevin Garnett were spotted wearing these on Monday vs. the Pistons to go along with the St. Patrick's Day special uniforms that they wear all week long.  They will be wearing them again tonight when they play the Knicks at home.

Adidas also dropped a St. Patrick's Day colorway of the TS Supernatural Creator.  I'd assume a few of the Knicks might be rocking these as well as some other Adidas athletes across the league like Derick Rose on the Bulls.  I think the green kicks with shamrocks should only be worn by the Celtics but what can you do...

Boston Celtics St. Patrick's Day Kicks (SHAMROCKS & SHENANIGANS)

The Celtics already sported their special green St. Patrick's Day uniforms on Monday against the Pistons so we got a nice look at all of their special green and gold kicks too. There were some really nice colorways in the bunch but I think Ray Allen's were the craziest.  I would expect to see the same lineup of kicks on Wednesday night vs. the Knicks but I have a feeling Allen might have another trick up his sleeve.  He always has the best Air Jordan PE's and he might be saving some special heat for St. Patrick's Day.

Snoop Dogg Helps Introduce the Adidas Original Star Wars Collection (COOL)

Snoop was all over NYC on February 4th to help introduce the new Adidas Originals Star Wars Collection. I might have to pick up a few of these kicks since I'm a big Star Wars fan but I'm not going to hold my breath since it seems like they are already impossible to get.  Star Wards nerds and sneakerheads tend to overlap quite a bit so this is like the perfect storm for Adidas.  I'm surprised they didn't think of this earlier.

Don't ask my why but this video kind of reminds me of when Snoop crushed the buildings in the "New York, New York" video. That is definitely an underrated classic!

Anyway, here's a look at some of my favorite kicks from the Adidas Star Wars Collection.  You can check out all of the options at StarWars.com.

Christmas Kicks 2009 - Boston Celtics Edition

There were a lot of cool looking Christmas colorways on the sneakers of NBA players this year since there were 5 different games to choose from but I was most interested in the Celtics kicks. They already have the green in their uniforms and it makes the most sense for them to wear the Christmas colors.

Here's a quick look at what the players were wearing on their feet on Christmas Day:

On Court Kicks - Pierce (Nike), KG (adidas), Allen (Air Jordan), Black LeBron VII's & More (NEW ISH)

Another reason why I love the start of the NBA season each year is because of all the new kicks I get to see players wearing on the court in unique colorways.  During last night's Celtics vs. Cavs game, we saw a ton of new PE kicks including the all black Nike Air Max LeBronVII's and some crazy green Nike joints from Paul Pierce (I hope those weren't Kobe Zoom IV's!!!).  Here's a look at some of the new additions that were being worn on the court last night:

Nike Air Max LeBronVII's (Black Colorway)

Here are a few pics of Paul Pierce's new Nike shoes for 2009.  Those could either be the Nike P2 VI's (can't find any info anywhere online) but they kind of look like Kobe Zoom IV's!  Not cool if that's the case.  I have to assume they are Pierce's new signature shoe but there is literally no information everywhere.  Boooo!!!

adidas Centennial Mid “Boston Celtics” Edition (MUST COP FOR C's FANS)

I usually buy a new pair of Green sneakers every year to rock at Celtics games (yes, I am that crazy) and I think I just found my new joints for the 2009-2010 season. The all green suede is slightly obnoxious but if I'm only wearing these in public on my way to the Garden on game day, I should be good.

All though I'm not a huge fan of the tongue out look since I don't rock skinny jeans and don't like tucking my pants into my shoes because I think it looks retarded, these are tongue out joints all the way because of the ridiculously huge Celtics logo.  I'll have no problem with this absurd look when I'm still wearing these in June while the Celtics hoist trophy #18 over their heads!!!  HOLLA!

You can find the adidas Centennial Mid "Boston Celtics" Edition for only $80 at select adidas Originals retail accounts. Sounds like a sick deal to me...

Adidas x Def Jam 25th Anniversary - Young Jeezy, Ghostface & Redman Customs (HOT)

Def Jam is celebrating it's 25th anniversary this year and they've teamed up with Adidas to drop a collection of dope kicks inspired by some of their biggest artists and albums. They're all a little crazy and bright and most people probably wouldn't have the balls to rock them in public but they are highly influenced by the album art so they get points for staying true to the theme.

I'd say that the Young Jeezy's are the hottest because they are fairly simple and clean although that is a REALLY bright green.  The all black leather really makes that color pop!
In second place would be the Redman joints.  They take the blood red theme from Whut? Thee Album to a whole new level.  They even have speckles of blood on the sole.  DAMN.

Coming in third are the Ghostface kicks.  I still think their hot but there's nothing much to them other than the "G" logo and lots of purple.  I'm definitely not a fan of purple on my feet and it reminds me too much of the shitty Lakers.
All of the kicks are cool in their own way and I love the concept as a whole.  Hopefully we'll see a few more artist influenced releases in the next couple of months.  More pics after the jump...

Adidas TS Commander LT x Kevin Garnett x Chelsea Football Club (CFC) Pack (CRAZY)

I always find it strange when sports superstars admit that their favorite sport is actually different than the one they get paid to play.  You always assume that pros are playing the sport they love most but it's not always the case.  I posted the other day about Chad Ochocinco's infatuation with soccer.  Kevin Garnett has also admitted his love for the sport many times in the past as well and now Adidas has put together a crazy custom package to reflect that.
It's one thing to hear an NBA player really loves/wants to play baseball (Michael Jordan) or football (LeBron James) but it always blows my mind when I hear soccer is that sport.  I have nothing against the sport itself since I do enjoy it once in awhile but it seems strange because it is so low on the sports totem pole.  It's not like you can just turn on the TV and catch a soccer game everyday.  I don't know.  It just seems weird to me.
Anyway, Adidas has decided to drop a limited edition package that is based on KG's favorite team, the Chelsea Football Club.  A special package will be available at Bodega Boston on August 29th and the kicks will be available nationwide on November 1st.  Here are the rest of the details from Bodega's site:
ADIDAS BASKETBALL CELEBRATES CAMARADERIE IN SPORT BY CREATING A COMMERATIVE CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB SHOE INSPIRED BY KEVIN GARNETT

The TS Commander LT X KG CFC will be sold nationwide with a limited edition package available at Bodega. Following the highly anticipated US Tour of the English Premier League’s Chelsea Football Club to the US for “friendly” matches in summer 2009, one loyal, yet unexpected, fan’s enthusiasm has spurred the creation of a limited-edition shoe to celebrate the camaraderie of sport.

Long standing CFC fan, NBA All-Star Kevin Garnett was the inspiration behind the new CFC- themed adidas TS Commander LT. This limited edition shoe incorporates an iconic royal blue and white split suede upper, a laser etched soccer ball pattern on the midsole and CFC yellow accents, including the team’s traditional lion’s crest, embossed on the tongue.

EXCLUSIVE BODEGA KG x CFC PACKAGE:
Bodega will offer an exclusive CFC tribute package consisting of the TS Commander LT x KG x CFC, a CFC Bodega team scarf and CFC replica jersey featuring Garnett’s name and number on the back. The package will be sold exclusively instore and in our webshop for $275 starting August 29th.

TS COMMANDER LT x KG x CFC NATIONWIDE AVAILIBILITY:
The TS Commander LT x KG x CFC limited-edition shoe will be available outside of Bodega, launching nationwide November 1st and will retail for $125 at adidas Sport Performance stores, Jimmy Jazz and Eurosport.

TS COMMANDER LT:
The TS Commander LT is the official adidas footwear offering for the 2009 NBA season. In addition to Garnett’s CFC-themed design, his Celtics-white and Kelly-green color way will be one of three player editions for start of season launching at retail in October for $100.

March Madness Begins! - New Adidas "Brotherhood" Ads (COOL)

2009 mens Final Four Logo Pictures, Images and Photos
Oh yeah!!!  March Madness is finally here!  I've been waiting for this moment to come for a few weeks now.  Today is the day you can finally start filling out your March Madness brackets and if you are like me, you will be in any and every pool you can find.  If you know of one that I can get into, let me know!  Ha Ha!

There isn't any better time of year in my opinion.  I love to watch all of the first round games starting at 12 PM on Thursday and Friday.  Yes, I'm technically at work but who cares!  Games are available through NCAA.com or through my SlingBox so I can watch every single game while I am "working" at my desk.  Everyone else is doing the same damn thing anyway.  It's not like it's a secret.  Productivity must grind to a halt across the US for those two days.  Just don't call or email me during that time because there is a 95% chance you won't get a response.

Adidas decided to launch a viral ad campaign to capitalize on the popularity of March Madness by using their roster of NBA players.  It's a pretty cool concept.  They take all of the superstar NBA players that never went to college (Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady, Josh Smith and Dwight Howard) and have them pick their favorite to win it all.  Considering they have no team affiliation, it's cool to get their opinions and see which team they will be rooting for.

They even give these guys jerseys of the team they picked with their name on the back to make you start daydreaming about what it would have been like had these guys actually gone to college. It's crazy to imagine how good all of these guys would have been had they gone to school for just a year or two.  We can only wonder what the NCAA Tournament would have been like during those years.  It would have been INSANE!!!

Also, here's a quick look at the Adidas Mad Clima College kicks that UCLA, Louisville and Kansas will be wearing during the NCAA Tournament.  You will notice that they promote 5 teams in the videos above but I was only able to find a solid pick of 3.  I also took a screenshot from the video:
