Beastie Boys vs. Sesame Street - Sure Shot Mashup (AWESOME)

So good!  This is one of the best mashup videos I've ever seen or at least one of the best using Sesame Street characters.  You'd be surprised how many are actually out there.  I just wish it was longer and utilized the whole song because I can't get enough of this awesomeness.  The timing and clips were perfect!

I still don't think it's better than the M.O.P. "Ante Up" mashup with Bert and Ernie though.  That is just a classic!


The Barney "Straight Outta Compton" joint was pretty solid too. 

"Thunder Busters" (AC/DC vs Ghostbusters Mashup) by Wax Audio (AWESOME)

Damn!  That was nasty!  Who the hell would think of combining the "Ghostbusters Theme" by Ray Parker Jr. with AC/DC's "Thunderstruck"?  WTF?!?!  So good!

I don't know whether to call people who make awesome mashups like this crazy or genius but either way, I enjoy the shit out of them.  It takes either a crazy imagination or a lot of drugs to come up with this madness.

Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile" vs. Jay-Z's "99 Problems" (MASH UP)

It's been awhile since I've posted any Mash Ups so I thought I would hit you off with this dope mix of Jimi Hendrixs' Voodoo Chile vs. Jay-Z's 99 Problems.  They were playing this on the Howard Stern Show today for some reason and I thought it sounded pretty nice.  It's definitely a cool mix between Rock and Rap and since 99 Problems already had those sick guitar riffs, the combination definitely made sense.  Good ish.

I have no idea what these guys are saying and I have a clue who Nino Bravo is but I do know that this is a SICK Mashup using Notorious B.I.G's "Juicy". Great production work once again by Cookin' Soul.

Biggie vs. Miley Mash-Up - "Party & Bullshit In the USA" (BETTER THAN EXPECTED)

Wow.  I was not expecting to like this Biggie vs. Miley mash-up but I have to admit it's a decent mix.  I wanted to hate it because it sounds like a terrible idea and I thought it would desecrate the legend of the Notorious B.I.G. and one of his classic tracks.  Luckily they decided to use the Biggie vocals from "Party and Bullshit" with the beat of Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA" (except for the chorus) so it turned out way better than expected. 

If you take out Miley's lame and awful hook, this would be a perfect pop/Hip Hop mash-up.  It's definitely not for everyone and will probably be more of a chick track but you could definitely rock this in the club and I think everyone could get down with it.  Not bad.

"Mash It Up Vol. 1" - DJ Earworm Mash Ups (IMPRESSIVE)

I stumbled across DJ Earworm's Mash Ups last week and they are definitely on point.  He uses a lot of Pop and Rock songs mixed in with some Hip Hop and R&B and it works nicely.  His track "United States of Pop 2008 (Viva La Pop)" actually made it on to Billboard’s Pop 100 Airplay chart because so many Radio DJ's were playing it at the end of the year.  He used Billboard's Top 25 Songs of 2008 to create it.  Damn.

It must take this guy forever to put together just one track but the end result is definitely worth it.  He isn't just taking a vocal and a beat from another song and just playing them together.  He is literally starting from scratch and using dozens of different songs all at the same time to create a completely new song.  It's kind of intense.  Here are a few of his tracks below.  Be sure to check out his site DjEarworm.com to hear and download some more amazing compilations.

Free Ballin' - The Jim Jones & Tom Petty Mash Up (CATCHY)

This is a nice little mash-up of Jim Jones' "We Fly High (aka Ballin'!)" and Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'".  I didn't know what to expect but I think the track is definitely on point.  The  best part was by far the chorus which uses the Tom Petty vocals and Jim Jones' famous "BALLIN'!!!! line.  If you're scoring at home that equals "Free Ballin'" which is by far the best name for a mash up that I've ever seen.  Definite bonus points for making me think this song was going to be about the very rarely used but very enjoyable art of "free ballin". 

I've come across a lot of dope mash up videos lately so I think I am going to start a new series called "Mash It Up" or something catchy like that.  I'm still working on the final title so if you have any ideas, let me know in the comments.  I'm eventually going to make a Dj RyB Mash Up Mix in the near future so you might be finding a lot of these joints in there.  If you find any other dope mash-ups, by all means let me know and hook me up with some links!
