The Making of Marcus Troy’s Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke (COOL)

Marcus Troy x Nike Bespoke Air Force 1 from Marcus Troy on Vimeo.

Blogger Marcus Troy was lucky enough to be invited to the Nike Sportswear Lab in NYC to create his own Nike Bespoke Air Force 1.  Although the video can be kind of slow at times, it's a nice look at the process of creating your own shoe from start to finish using hundreds of different options.

You can technically customize your own shoe on NikeID but you are limited to the colors and materials that they make available which is usually very minimal.  This is on some next level ish.  There are literally hundreds of colors and materials you can use in the Nike Sportswear Lab such as suede, alligator skin, or even something as crazy as KEVLAR.  Damn!

It would be great if anyone could walk in to the Nike Sportswear store to create their very own customized shoe but if they made it available to everyone, you would probably have to wait months just to get an appointment.  To make sure this is a super exclusive club that will keep the riff raff out, Nike has set the cost at $820.  WTF?!?  That is completely out of control.  The Nike rep in the video does a decent job of trying to justify the price but you can tell that even he thinks it's a little ridiculous.  He said they have done over 250 custom shoes to date so that price isn't exactly deterring everyone.  I would love to create my own shoe like any other sneakerhead but I think I'd rather buy a new 42' Flat Screen TV for that price!  RIDICULOUS!
