Hip Hop Violinist Plays Clipse "Popular Demand" & Trey Songz "Say Ahh" (COOL)

This dude is pretty nice on the violin. I love it when people can mix in real instruments with Hip Hop and make it sound hot.  That is why The Roots are one of my favorite groups.  They show people that Hip Hop can be musical and it actually does take some talent.

This dude isn't the first to ever use the violin but he definitely puts his own touch on these two songs.  I like how he came with Clipse "Popular Demand" first and then gave the ladies a little something with Trey Songz "Say Ahh".  I think the violin sounded a little better with the R&B track because it makes the most sense in the song arrangement but both sounded good.

The "original" and by far the best Hip Hop Violinist is Miri Ben Ari. This chick is a badass on the strings and she's actually kind of cute too. She's been a little under the radar over the past few years but she was really killing the Hip Hop and R&B scene in the first half of the 2000's and was at her peak around 2003-2005.

Miri Ben Ari released her own Hip Hop album in 2005 called The Hip Hop Violinist.  Even though it fell under the radar for some reason, it's still one of my favorite albums from that time.  She had a ton of great guest appearances from Hip Hop and R&B heavyweights like Kanye West, John Legend, Fabolous, Lil Wayne and Akon.  If you've never heard any of the songs or don't own the whole album, I suggest you pick that up as soon as possible.  You will not be disappointed.
