Tinie Tempah ft. Wiz Khalifa - "Till I'm Gone" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I've been catching a bunch of new music lately from Tinie Tempah.  Even though he's from South London and has that crazy accent, I really like what he's doing.  He's been big in Europe for a few years now but he is just starting to make his way to the States and I think he has a chance to break through to the mainstream.  Dizzie Rascal has an underground following over here but he's never had a huge hit to make him a household name.

Not only is "Till I'm Gone" a real solid song that could get some radio rotation but it also features Wiz Khalifa who is absolutely huge right now.  Any song he's on these days gets attention from his fans so Tinie Tempah could become a household name soon enough.

BONUS:  Wiz is rockin' the Air Jordan VII Cardinal and Tinie is wearing the Air Jordan III True Blues.  Solid!

Birdman's Custom Tour Bus (LUXURY TO THE MAX)

Trying to describe Birdman's custom tour bus is kind of a waste of time because it's all about the visuals with this thing.  I've seen a lot of sick tour buses but this one is by far the nicest and probably most expensive.  This is nicer than 99% of the population's actual houses.  So sick!

Eric Byrnes destroys Harold Reynolds on MLB TV (BOOM!)

I generally despise baseball talk and analysis because it is so freakin' boring but I might have to start tuning in to MLB TV if they do segments like this on a regular basis.  That was hysterical.  Harold Reynolds got JACKED UP!

Eminem - "Space Bound" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I'm not sure why this video is just releasing now since Em's Recovery album released way back in 2010 but it's good to finally see it get released and I guess it's better late than never.  It sounds like they filmed it in early 2011 but had some trouble releasing it because of the controversial images about suicide that are depicted in the video.

He's already catching slack from parenting groups and I'm sure there will be more to come.  It's getting ridiculous with all of these advocacy and special interest groups bitching about something new every other day.  Can people stop complaining about shit that people like Eminem or Tracy Morgan say and do and just worry about themselves for once?  All they have to do is just ignore it but that will never happen because there is always someone that is offended by the smallest thing and ends up being the loudest voice complaining about it.  We are becoming a country of ultra sensitive little bitches and it's getting pathetic.  Toughen up.

David Guetta ft. Nicki Minaj & Flo Rida - "Where Them Girls At" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I know this sounds a lot like every other David Guetta song that has released over the past year or so but I'm still feeling it.  The formula is working so why not stick with it until it dies?  Make that paper.  It's all cool with me.  Plus, the video has a plethora of hot chicks and fly booties so you really can't be mad.  This is definitely the summertime anthem...

2Pac - Watch Yo Mouth (Unreleased Diss Track Towards Nas, Dr. Dre, Wendy Williams, De La Soul, Diddy)

Even though this is mad old, I still get all fired up when I find out there is some "new" 2Pac song that someone found buried in the archives.  It's just nice to hear something I haven't heard before from one of my all time favorites.  Even though Pac was usually at his best when he was getting fired up and dissing people, this one is a little mediocre so I can see why it never saw the light of day until now.  Either way, it's still interesting.  Imagine what this dude would be doing if he was still around today?  He would be destroying these fools that call themselves rappers.  It's not even funny.

Rick Ross, Meek Mills & Swizz Beatz - "Reebok Back" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

We've seen songs like this in the past trying to promote a product or sneaker but most of them rarely work because it seems forced.  I think this "remix" of Meek Mills and Rick Ross' song "Tupac's Back" is actually not bad at all.

The insertion of Reebok in the hook doesn't sound forced and for the most part, you wouldn't really know it's different than the original unless you were paying attention.  I think that is what they were going with so that it was a little more subliminal.  I could see this being put on heavy rotation in the videos used in sneaker stores and then like a bunch of zombies, people start heading for the Reeboks and don't even know why.  Well, that's the goal anyway.

Here's the original song "Tupac's Back" which is a solid joint that gets the trunk rattling.

And here is another look at the Swizz Beatz x Reebok Kamikaze joints that have been hitting stores in limited quantities over the past few weeks.  A lot of people might hate on these but I am a huge fan.  I love the crazy design, funkiness and dope colorways.  The original Kamikaze was my high school basketball shoe and was also one of my all time favorite Reeboks so it's nice to see a new and updated version of the shoe.  If I could actually get my hands on these I would buy them in a second but it sounds like they are sticking with the limited strategy, at least for now.  Maybe my Reebok connection can hook me up with a pair please?!?!

Kevin Hart w/ Shaq and Justin Timberlake on Leno (HILARIOUS)

You gotta love Kevin Hart.  This dude is hilarious.  He can make anything funny and you could tell he was just going off the top of his head in this clip.  I knew he was a small dude but once you see him standing next to Shaq, it's beyond comical.  He literally looks like a midget.  Funny shit.

Dj Khaled Ft. Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne - "I'm On One" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Here's the official video for DJ Khaled's "I'm On One" that's been burning up the charts for the past few weeks.  As much as Khaled annoys the shit out of me, he keeps making some sick music with the help of some serious Hip Hop heavyweights.

I'm not sure how much producing or beatmaking he actually does but even if he is just organizing the artists to get them on the track together, I still have to give him props. Dude just keeps the hot shit coming and that's all you can ask for these days.  Hot shit.

Karmin "Carbon Copy/Encore" (KILLIN' IT)

I kind of wish they left out their original song "Carbon Copy" so we could get right to the cover of Jay-Z's "Encore" because Karmin absolutely destroyed it.  This chick is ridiculous.  She needs to put out some original raps and drop an album that's half singing, half rappin' kind of like Lauryn Hill or Missy Elliott.  The game has never seen a white girl kill it like that and I think she would sell really well if she put out some hot shit.

Shark Jumps Over Surfer (WOAH!)

This has no relevance to anything but I thought it was kind of cool so I thought I would throw it up since I have nothing else ready for you.  This is just another reason why I will never surf.  Not only am I afraid of getting smacked in the head by a big wave and getting tossed around in the water before I can catch a breath but with my luck that f'n shark would end up catching a piece of my arm or head and I'd be fucked.  I'm all set with that.

By the way, is this the opposite of "Jumping the Shark"?  Is this dude going to have ridiculous luck and success from now on?  I think we need an official definition.

Stash - "Go Fish" 5-Year Old Kid Creates His Own Rap Using Biggie's "Hypnotize (NICE!)

This little guy is tough to understand at times because his voice is so high but from what I heard, he can flow pretty damn good!  When you consider that he is only 5 years old and wrote his own rhymes then you realize it's actually very impressive.  I like that he's just talking about having fun and basically just being a little kid.  I don't like it when these little kids try to emulate the older dudes and talk about mature subjects they know nothing about.  I can't wait to see some more from this little man that goes by Stash.  Sick hair too!  HA HA.

"Unleash Your Fingers" by JayFunk (MORE CRAZY FINGER TUTTING?)

OK.  Wow.  This is way better than I expected.  I made fun of Finger Tutting a few months ago but I think I am actually about to admit that I now think this is kind of cool.  I definitely never thought I'd say it but sometimes I'll admit when I'm wrong.  Sometimes. I think the special effects is what really brings it all together and really caught my attention but even the moves alone are pretty incredible.  Who would ever think you could "dance" without moving your legs?  Shit is crazy.

In case you missed it, here is the first video from JayFunk that went viral more than a year ago and now has over 1 million views.

Styles P - "Where The Angels Sleep" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Here's some hot new ish from my boy Styles P.  He's one of the few artists that doesn't let us real Hip Hop Heads down and continuously brings the heat.  Did I tell you I once smoked a blunt with Styles P and Jadakiss on the balcony of a hotel in Miami during Spring Break '98?  True story.  I'm pretty sure I gave one of them a warm skunked Corona from our tub and they didn't even give a shit.  They were in a shitty hotel with no money while Puff was down the street in one of the nicest hotels on the strip.  Figures.  They were so new to the fame that they couldn't believe that a white kid from the burbs appreciated their music.  Good times...

Drew League Highlights: Ft.The Game, Kevin Durant, Michael Beasley & Wesley Johnson (PLUS "HUSTLIN'" FROM GAME)

Here are some more highlights from the increasingly popular Drew League out in South Central L.A.  The song is from Game called "Hustlin'".

Pitbull Feat T-Pain & Sean Paul, Ludacris - "Shake Senora Remix" (NOT SURE)

I'm still not sure how I feel about this song.  One one hand it's a fun uptempo track that will probably do really well in the clubs and radio and should definitely have the ladies shakin' their asses on the dance floor.  On the other hand, it's a complete bastardization of the original song which was kind of corny anyway so it makes me think this is kind of corny too.

Pitbull is the king of the club joints so I'm not even doubting his choice to sample the original but something just feels weird about it. It's cheesy yet enjoyable at the same time. I guess it's just one of those songs.  In case you were wondering, the original was called "Jump In the Line" by Harry Belafonte and is probably most recognizable from the movie Beetle Juice.

J. Cole - "Cheer Up" (DOPE)

J. Cole is the truth, man.  Dude keeps dropping banger after banger and is showing no signs of slowing down. This new joint "Cheer Up" is supposedly a leak from his debut album, Cole World.  Even though this isn't a typical radio single, it has just enough of a positive and uptempo vibe that it might actually get some spins.  It's just a solid song.

I can't wait until that drops because I have a feeling it is going to be one of the best albums of 2011.  I can't imagine him putting out any bad songs since everything I hear from him is real solid.  He even found a way to use a 2Pac line without pissing me off which is pretty tough to do.  Actually, if you break them down, "Cheer Up" and "Changes" are very similar songs in their feel and message.  Dope shit.

" Wake up in the morning and I ask myself, is life worth living should i blast myself? "
- 2Pac from the song "Changes"

John Wall Throws the Worst First Pitch Ever at Nationals Game (PAINFUL)

I think it's safe to say that John Wall never played baseball as a kid.  Even someone that only played little league for one season could throw better than that.  He barely made it 20 feet in the air.  Just awful!

It's a tough call but this still might be a better throw than Gary "Baba Booey" Delabate's first pitch at a Mets game a couple of years ago.  I think Baba Booey's was worse because he claimed he could throw well and considered himself a baseball player but ended up almost drilling someone standing behind the plate in the head.  Pathetic.

Kevin Durant Throws Down a Nasty Off the Backboard Dunk During Drew League (RIDICULOUS)

DAMN!  Now that was nasty!  Kevin Durant is so tall and long that he started throwing that ball from about half court and made it to the hoop in four huge strides.  He didn't even take a dribble inside of the three point line.  Crazy!

In case you didn't know, the Drew League is a Pro-Am summer league that's held in South Central L.A. and it gets a ton of NBA players to play there each summer.  With talks about a potential labor strike for next season, it looks like this summer's league is even more packed with stars than usual.

Durant's team Kings of L.A. was made up of Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Michael Beasley and Dorell Wright.  They played the Young Grangers who had Nick Young, Andre Miller and Trevor Ariza.  Even though James Harden had 51 points, I think it's safe to say that this dunk from Durant got all of the attention.  It looks like the game literally had to stop for a few minutes because the crowd was on the court losing their shit.  Love it.

Kelly Rowland ft. Big Sean - "Lay It On Me" (NEW ISH)

I could see this one being a big summertime hit.  It's got the ingredients you need.  Nice uptempo beat, catchy hook and a nice little guest appearance by a hot rapper.  Done deal.  As long as this gets a few radio spins, I think it will catch on pretty quickly.  It's poppy but I like it.  You need a few feel good joints every summer to help you get through the heat.  Not bad at all.

50 Cent - "Outlaw" (NEW ISH)

Here's some new ish from 50. I'm not really sure how I feel about this one.  It's decent but it's nothing special.  I would think he would bring a little more heat for one of the first songs off his new album.  Maybe this is just a test for the streets and he's still putting it all together.  It's kind of strange how far he has fallen off though.  I'm just not that interested in what he has to say anymore but I used to be a huge fan.  It's kind of disappointing.

POCKEMON vs. HEMATOME | Semi-Final Battle STREET DAY Lyon 2011 (SICK)

I don't have much to say other than this battle is pretty sick.  Lots of slick moves in here to learn from or just be amazed by.  Once again, YakFilms brings the heat!

UFC Ring Girl Arianny Celeste's Bud Light Lime/UFC Commercial (HOT)

I've never heard of this UFC ring girl Arianny Celeste before but she's definitely on my radar now after this hot commercial/promotion for Bud Light Lime and UFC 132.  I never got into the UFC thing but if they have more hot broads like this walking around the ring maybe I can give it a second chance.  Damn!

Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown: San Antonio Winner Jacob Tucker (BEAST)

You've probably heard about Jacob Tucker by now since I put up a couple of posts about him earlier this year but just in case you are just catching up, he's a 5'10" (maybe 5'11" if he's lucky) white boy from Illinois who has ridiculous hops and about a 50" vertical.  He also won the 2011 NCAA Slam Dunk Contest after making it into the competition using Facebook and YouTube.  These weren't his best dunks that I've ever seen but he still shows you what he's capable of doing and shows off those crazy hops.  Hopefully he makes it deep in the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown so he can use a few more dunks in his arsenal.

You can find more info about the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown here.

Lebron James: "The New Decision" - Playing in the WNBA (FUNNY PARODY)

Here's a pretty funny spoof of LeBron's Decision or should I say, The New Decision.  I'm all for anything hating on LeBron these days so feel free to send me anything you find, regardless of how good or bad it is.  If it contributes to the bucket of Haterade, I'm all about it.

Tigger, Eeyore and Pooh Get Down During DisneyLand Dance Off (SICK MOVES)

Tigger crushed this dance competition but Eeyore should get a little more credit because his moves were still pretty solid, especially with that big belly of his.  Winnie the Pooh was obviously a white guy/girl with those old school moves but it provided some nice comedy.  Good shit all around.

Talib Kweli - "Mr. International" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Here's a new video for Talib Kweli's "Mr. International" from the Gutter Rainbows album.  It's a cool look at Kweli's travels and it makes you realize how much love he gets around the world.  I wish he got more love in his own country of the US but what can you do.  Most people would rather listen to the poppy insignificant shit instead of something real with a message.  Too bad.

Kanye West - "Mama's Boyfriend" (NEW ISH)

DOPE!!! I wasn't sure what to think when I saw the title of "Mama's Boyfriend" but as soon as I heard it, I was locked in.  Kanye is still in the zone.  He literally can't make a bad song.  It's pretty unreal.  Maybe I'm biased but I love everything he puts out, no matter how crazy or different it is.  Dude just has talent, plain and simple.

Kanye actually performed this at Facebook headquarters last July but the song was not on the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album. The official version above was just released in the past few days.  This live acapella version is obviously a lot more emotional and powerful but I like them both.  They are almost two different songs with the same exact words.  It's kind of funny how that works.

It must have been kind of awkward sitting there listening to all of the N bombs being dropped on a song that no one has even heard before.  For some reason, it's a lot more palatable when you know the song and you have a beat to take your attention away.  At the very end of the video you can hear how the crowd wasn't really sure how to react when it ended.   Good shit.

Chris Brown Feat. Busta Rhymes - "Look At Me Now" Polka Version (AWESOME)

Whoever came up with this is a freakin' genius!  The polka "beat" matches perfectly and totally goes with the flow of the quick and choppy verses by Chris Brown and Busta Rhymes.  So good.  The video makes it even better too. I almost lost my shit watching the dancers trying to act all hard while moving perfectly in sync with the polka.  I can't believe this only has 70K views.  This needs to blow up!

Dunk of the Week: Tim Trew Dunks All Over "Pooh" Jeter (WHITE BOY HOPS)

I have no idea who Tim Trew is and I'm sure most people around the country didn't either until he dunked on Eugene "Pooh" Jeter the other day during a Drew League game.  It looks like he might have caught a little boost off of Jeter's chest but who gives a shit.  It was still nasty!  I like how he reached out and extended to ensure he was going to throw it down.  Very nice.

Hitler Finds Out Lebron James & The Heat Choked In The 2011 NBA Finals (AND IT BEGINS)

This might not be the best Hitler spoof video but it's certainly the most enjoyable.  Suck it, LeBron!  Let the hating commence.  I'm sure I will be posting about 45 more LeBron and the Heat are chokers videos in the next few days.  Can't wait!!!

Jimmy Kimmel's Prank on Ron Artest (FUNNY)

Although Ron Artest has a reputation being completely crazy he does seem like he's a decent dude.  He does a lot of great stuff for charity and he seems harmless. He gets mad props for being a good sport during this fake commercial that Jimmy Kimmel set up as a prank.  It's stuff like this that makes you like the guy just a little bit more.  He hung in there all the way until the end.  "That's a PORKY-pine!!!"  HA HA.

Yelawolf - "Daddy's Lambo" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

If you haven't heard of Yelawolf yet, I suggest you start paying attention because the dude can flow like a mofo.  He's got unique subject matter and he has a dope flow on top of that.  He's definitely one of the best fast rhymers out right now.  He's a little crazy looking with all the tats and that weird ass hair but once you get past that and take a good listen, you'll realize he's one of the most talented up and coming artists out right now.  Dope shit.

Masspike Miles - "In The Hood" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

Here's some hotness from Masspike Miles called "In The Hood".  I've been following this guy for a few years now since he's a local dude but the stuff he's been putting out over the past 6 months or so has been really solid and by far his best work.  He linked up with Rick Ross' Maybach Music Group so I fully expect to hear even better shit in the near future.

Maino ft. Roscoe Dash - "Let It Fly" (NEW ISH)

I think Maino is super underrated and falls under the radar more than he should.  Here's some new shit called "Let It Fly" featuring Roscoe Dash.  I don't know about you but I think this is ridiculously hot.  Dope beat, respectable lyrics and flow, plus a nice hook from Roscoe.  You don't need much more than that.

Kendrick Lamar - "HiiiPoWeR" Produced By J. Cole (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I don't have much time to do my usual analysis on videos and such today so I thought I would just hit you off with a bunch of new music I've found over the past week or two.  This is the first of many.

I do want to spend a few seconds on this one, however.  Kendrick Lamar is one of those dudes that I've been hearing about for awhile now but have never actually remembered to check out any of his music.  He would get referenced on a blog or something but I would always forget to go search him out.  Luckily, his new track "HiiiPoWeR" (which is produced by J. Cole) has been getting some good rotation on Shade 45 and Hip Hop Nation on SiriusXM so I actually have a point of reference for him now.

This is some hot shit and I think this could be a nice little minor hit for him and help get his name on the map.  If he's teaming up with J. Cole, I fully expect him to be linked up with some other great up and coming artists and producers when he finally gets around to releasing a new album.  He's definitely got some skills and I really like his sound.  I know I complain a lot about new music but I'm totally fine with someone that brings the heat like this on a regular basis.  He's actually saying something of substance too.  Dope shit!

Here's another copy of the video in case the one from YouTube gets taken down:

Frank Ocean - "Novacane" (NEW ISH)

It doesn't look like there's a video for Frank Ocean's "Novacane" yet but I'm sure there will be one soon because this song is the SHIT.  I've been hearing this on SiriusXM radio for awhile now but I think it's really just starting to blow up.  It's one of those slower R&B joints that have been missing from the charts lately.  Perfect summer joint.  I have to admit, this is one of my favorite songs out right now.  I'm officially addicted.  Surprisingly, the hook isn't what draws you in either.  It's the catchy ass beat and flow.  This is some original shit that I've been looking for lately but rarely ever find.  Hot shit.

An Inside Look at 50 Cent's Connecticut Mansion (RIDICULOUS)

50 Cent's mansion has been seen quite a few times over the years in various videos and even on MTV Cribs (video below) but I think this is one of the better behind the scenes looks at the property.  If you haven't heard by now, 50 has put the "home" on sale for $9,999,000.50. Yes, that's right...and 50 cents.

It is 54,000 square feet (Holy Shit!) and was built off of the standards used for the Farmington Marriott hotel. Along with 21 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms, it also has a movie theater, full gym, Nightclub, billiard room, recording studio, indoor and outdoor basketball courts and pretty much anything else you can think of that you really don't need but would love to have if you were rich.  I wish I was a billionaire because I would buy this in a second.  So sick.

Bad Meets Evil aka Eminem & Royce Da 5'9 - "Fast Lane" (OFFICIAL VIDEO)

I didn't have time to post anything today but I did stumble across the official video for Bad Meets Evil dope ass track "Fast Lane" so I thought I would throw it up before I bounced or the day.  I don't know how this only has 300 views right now.  This shit is ridiculously hot and the special effects are pretty dope too.  Just a sick all around video.  This song needs to blow up so it can push out the rest of the garbage that's out right now.  Em and Royce DESTROYED this track.  Nasty!

Dr. Dre “Good Things” - New Chrysler 300 Commercial (HOTNESS)

Woah!  I'm loving this new Chrysler 300 commercial with Dr. Dre representing L.A. in a similar spot to Eminem's Super Bowl ad reppin' Detroit.  Not only is this a sick commercial but the car itself looks money and it looks like it's bringing some serious heat with the sound system.  Check this shit out.  Totally unnecessary yet completely awesome:

"Beats by Dr. Dre founder and hip hop legend Dr. Dre will star in “Good Things,” a bold 60-second commercial spot for the all-new 2012 Chrysler 300, set to debut during Game 3 of the NBA finals Sunday night on ABC.

The commercial, directed by veteran Mark Romanek, highlights the exclusive Chrysler partnership with Beats by Dre and its unique position as the only automobile with a sound system designed to replicate the recording studio sound experience, designed by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine.

Beats by Dr. Dre founders Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine worked side-by-side with the engineering team at Chrysler to design and tune the 10-speaker audio system; and make the Chrysler 300S to the closest you can get to a recording studio on four wheels."

Bad Meets Evil aka Eminem & Royce Da 5'9" ft. Bruno Mars - "Lighters" (NEW ISH)

It took me a second to get past the fact that Eminem and Royce decided to do a track with someone as poppy as Bruno Mars but once I let it go and actually listened, I realized that this is a hot ass song.  This is obviously meant for the radio but I don't mind it one bit.  Em's hit songs lately haven't been just some garbage but usually have a message or some deeper meaning which you have to appreciate.  At least he puts some thought into the joints that are going to be heard by the masses.

Highlights from the 2nd Annual Shooting Touch Gala Celebration

After missing last year's Shooting Touch event, I finally had the chance to attend this year's 2nd Annual Gala Celebration which helps support the Shooting Touch Sabbatical Program.  The event was held at the awesome Reebok campus in Canton, MA and included many celebrities and pro athletes. There were hundreds of items in the silent auction and a handful of some top notch items in the live auction hosted by ESPN's Fran Fraschilla and comedian Lenny Clarke.  Some of the live auction items included Celtics' owner Steve Pagliuca's front row seats for a Celtics playoff game and a fully paid trip to Dallas to watch a Mavericks playoff game donated by Jason Terry among other great auction items. The event was a great success and they were able to raise a ton of money for next year's program.

The Shooting Touch Sabbatical Program can be best summarized as the "Basketball Peace Corps." They choose a deserving college senior each year to travel overseas and visit numerous countries teaching the game of basketball through clinics and other events. Not only is this program great for the kids across the globe that are learning the game of basketball but it also serves as a life lesson for the Sabbatical Program recipient. It's a great program that I hope to be more involved with in the future as the program continues to grow.

Here is a quick video of the 2010 recipient Tome Barros' journey across the globe last summer. It looks like he did a great job and had a lot of fun along the way.

Here is a write up about Shooting Touch and the 2nd Annual Gala Celebration from SlamOnline.com:

"Basketball is a powerful tool for growth. Tales of personal, athletic and financial growth are well known, but in some ways, they’re just the beginning. This beautiful game has also the power to effect positive social change in disadvantaged communities. That is the mission of the Shooting Touch Program. The non-profit organization strives to positively impact the lives of children both on and off the court with educational and mentorship opportunities.

Shooting Touch recently had its Second Annual Gala Celebration to benefit its Sabbatical Program. The program grants graduating college seniors the opportunity to promote positive growth in needy contexts the world over. This initiative highlights the expanding reach of the Shooting Touch Program. Founded in Boston four years ago, the program now has global aspirations to create “The Basketball Peace Corps.”

ESPN’s Fran Fraschilla MC’d the event for hundreds at the Reebok World Headquarters. Notable attendees included Hall of Famer Wayne Embry, legendary high school coach Bob Hurley Sr., Bobby Hurley, Jr., Raptors coach Jay Triano, Celtics owner Steve Pagliuca, as well as several stakeholders from Reebok. The headliners and everyone else in attendance were united by a love of basketball and an interest in seeing how it can be used as a vehicle for beneficial social change.

Tome Barros, the program’s first sabbatical grantee took the stage and illustrated just what change through basketball looks like. The Dorchester native told stories of his experiences in Senegal, Brazil and Cape Verde. His video presentation on his travels showed how basketball can educate, inspire and galvanize a community. Seeing the smiles of kids learning how to play reminded everyone why they love the game and just what it’s capable of doing. Ultimately through his work, basketball serves as a vehicle to leave a lasting impact that will extend beyond the court in these communities.

He then passed the torch to Leah Westbrooks, the next Shooting Touch grant winner. The forward from Mount St. Mary’s University will follow in Tome’s footsteps and travel to South Africa and Zimbabwe.
In total the gala raised tens of thousands of dollars for Shooting Touch. The night was such a success that the program will be able to send two grantees overseas in next year’s Sabbatical Program. This growth will increase the global reach of the program and open more doors to the power of the game."

Cover of Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" by @KarminMusic (LEGIT)

Is it me or does this chick from @KarminMusic get better with each song?  She has a great voice and she can actually flow ridiculously well.  The fact that she is rappin' that fast while simultaneously playing the guitar is pretty f'n awesome.  And she's hot on top of it all.  Just a perfect package.

They even got Questlove and Owen Biddle of The Roots to jump on this one.   Shit's crazy!   These two have blown up so fast, it's ridiculous.  Very impressive.

AraabMuzik Killin' It on the MPC During Studio Session w/ Alchemist (INTENSE)

I've posted a few other videos of AraabMuzik murdering the MPC in the past but I thought this one was one of his better ones because they actually sounded like decent songs instead of just someone smacking a bunch of sounds as fast as possible.  His actual production work still leaves something to be desired but I will give the dude credit that he is nasty live on the MPC.  He basically treats it like an instrument which is kind of cool in itself.  If he could make it so all of his shit didn't sound the same, maybe he could create a bigger name for himself in the Hip Hop production world.

Sh'Boss Boys Crush It on America's Got Talent (5, 6 & 7 YEAR OLDS WITH SKILLS)

I don't watch America's Got Talent because it's pretty painful most of the time but I do catch highlights like this once in awhile and then I get pissed that I didn't see it live.  The Sh'Boss Boys are a young rap group from Atlanta made up of a 5, 6 and 7 year old.  They are very talented little guys and they also have a great stage presence.  On top of that, they rap about positive things like getting good grades in school.  You gotta love that.  I might have to start watching just to catch these little dudes tear up the stage again.

Here are a few more of their original songs.  They aren't bad at all and are probably better than a lot of adult rappers out there right now.  Get these kids a record contract!

T-Pain ft. Chris Brown - "Best Love Song"; Plus Chris Brown's "Fools With You" (NEW R&B)

I thought I'd hit you off with something a little different today and share some new R&B joints I came across recently.  Not surprisingly, they both feature Chris Brown who has been on an absolute tear lately. They are both on the slower vibe but I'm definitely feeling them.  This is the vibe that's been missing from R7B for awhile now.  Hot shit.

5 Greatest NBA Finals Moments Legoized (AWESOME)

You might have seen the Greatest March Madness Moments Legoized back in March and now we have the NBA version just in time for the start of the NBA Finals.  They were all pretty awesome but my favorites were the infamous Dr. J reverse layup against the Lakers and Jordan's crossover jumper against the Jazz.  It felt like I was reliving two awesome moments in a completely new way but still felt like I was watching the real thing.  It was strange but very cool, at least in my opinion. I hope they keep making these for basketball and possibly some other sports too.  I could see this being kind of cool for NFL highlights...
