Nate Dogg Dead at 41 (R.I.P. TO THE VOICE OF G-FUNK)

Damn.  Today is a sad day.  News just hit a few hours ago that Nate Dogg has died of a heart attack.  He's had problems with his heart for awhile now so this isn't exactly a shock but it's always a shock when you hear about one of your favorite artists passing away. As the Hip Hop genre continues to age, so does it's stars.  Unfortunately, far too many have passed away at a fairly young age.

Pour out a little liquor from your 40 oz. because we have lost a great voice in the Hip Hop game.  I grew up in the 90's singing along to Nate's simple but effective hooks on almost every G-Funk hit from that time.  Death Row owned the charts back then and it seemed like Nate was on every other song.  He was probably most popular for his work on Warren G's "Regulate" but he had been putting in work ever since.  It's actually ridiculous how many songs that he's been featured on have gone to to the top of the charts.  It's almost like it was an instant hit with Nate on the hook.  He most recently appeared on Dr. Dre's "Kush" and I'm sure he will be prominently featured on Dre's new Detox album as well.

Here are some of my favorite Nate Dogg songs and features to help celebrate his great career.  He will be severely missed.  R.I.P. big homey!
