Chris Paul Owns Mavs and Almost Drops A Quadruple Double (Sick)

Last night, Chris Paul messed around and got a triple double...but he almost had a freakin' quadruple double!  Good lord!  He had 33 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds and seven steals and led the Hornets to a big win over the Mavericks.

You might be asking "has anyone ever had a quadruple double before"?  Surprisingly, yes.  It has happened four other times in NBA history.  I had no idea.  Here is the list of players and their ridiculous performances:

Nate Thurmond, October 18, 1974, Chicago vs. Atlanta; 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, 12 blocks.
Alvin Robertson, February 18, 1986, San Antonio vs. Phoenix; 20 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 steals.
Hakeem Olajuwon, March 29, 1990, Houston vs. Milwaukee; 18 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, 11 blocks.
David Robinson, February 17, 1994, San Antonio vs. Detroit; 34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 blocks.

If anyone has a chance to land the quadruple double this year or at any point in the near future, it's going to be Chris Paul, LeBron James (blocks or steals), Dwight Howard (blocks) and maybe Rajon Rondo.

I'll even go so far to say that LeBron could be the first ever player to land a Quintuple Double if he continues to step his defense up.  The kid is just a beast.  I think it's absolutely reasonable to think that he could have 10 blocks and 10 steals in a game along with a typical triple double performance.  It would have to be the perfect circumstances but I still think it's doable.  He is just too damn good.  It's just not fair!
