Nets' Devin Harris Gets Worked by British Streetballer Stuart Tanner
I know I am a little late on this since it was just up on Yahoo's "Ball Don't Lie" the other day but I still wanted to put it up since it's a pretty sick video. I guess a lot of other people also found this interesting as well because there were only about 84,000 views when I first watched this yesterday and now it is already up to 2.8 million! Damn!
I have to defend Devin Harris even though he got schooled a bit. First off, he wasn't even close to playing at full speed. If some dude came up to me in jeans and a sweater and wanted to play one on one, I'd probably be easing back a bit as well. Secondly, he probably has to take it easy because it's in his contract and if he gets hurt playing against some clown on the playground, he could lose a lot of dough Last but not least, this was not a full speed, NBA basketball game against the best athletes in the world. I think this Stuart Tanner dude looks decent and could probably hold his own against some really good basketball players but I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't get worked during a full speed regular season NBA game. Streetball shit just doesn't work in a real basketball game except for the occasional exceptions of Jason Williams and Rafer Alston. There is no way you are going to be able to pull off the between the legs dribble and if you do, you will get decked with a clothesline the next time down the court.
Devin Harris really had nothing to lose (although some of his pride was scraped all over that ashphalt) and Stuart Tanner had everything to gain. Now everyone knows who Stuart Tanner is and he will have a few minutes of fame before he fades into obscurity again. Harris will be back playing with the Nets in the US making millions and I'm sure he has already forgotten about what happened on his trip to the UK. Actually, I doubt he has been able to put this behind him because all of his teammates and friends have probably been sending him this video over and over to rub it in his face because he got schooled by a scrawny white dude from the UK. OWNED!!!
And while we're talking about NBA players getting schooled, here is a new video floating around of Kobe Bryant falling on his ass while playing D on Beno Udrih. I wouldn't exactly say Kobe got his ankles broken since he seemed to fall after getting bumped but it was still a decent move.
