ESPN Gave Lil Wayne a Blog? WTF?!?!

Photobucket
If you've been creeping around ESPN.com lately, you might have already known this but I just found out that Weezy F. Baby is now an official celebrity blogger for ESPN The Magazine.  The combination seems strange at first but it turns out that Lil Wayne is a huge sports fan.  It must be easy to follow every team and sports league when you are worth millions and don't have a 9 to 5!  It's like every day is the weekend!

If I had $ like him, I'd probably subscribe to every League Pass/Ticket pacakge available and DVR every single game.  I'd also have a wall of flatscreens in the "Entertainment Room" of my mansion to watch every game at the same time, just because I could and invite all of my friends over to piss them off.  Then I would rewatch every game later in the week while I sat on my couch drinking O.E. and counting my stacks while a naked chick cooks my dinner in the kitchen.  I'd probably join every fantasy league I could find and run the table on those mofos...

Once you get past the terribly awkward and almost unreadable grammar (couldn't the ESPN editors cleaned that up a bit?), it's actually not a bad read.  He seems to know his stuff and follows pretty much every major sport including hockey!  Do they still have a league?  I seriously couldn't tell you one thing about the NHL if my life depended on it.

He has a few Boston connections as well.  I figured he would be all about the New Orleans teams but he references the Red Sox and Bruins as two of his favorites.  He didn't speak so kindly of the Patriots, however:

"The Patriots aren't going to be fine. I expected this to happen even before Brady got injured. I've been skeptical for a while now. They lost their drive. They used to go out there and crush people, playing good football every Sunday. You could see when they were winning how great they were playing, how hard they trained and how disciplined they were. But then it became about 'who is this person dating' and whatever, and that's when I thought this would happen. I'm not going to say they're distracted because they're professionals. But when it becomes about all that other stuff it does take away from just going out and playing good football."

I will definitely be checking this out on the regular.
