Largest Rick-Roll Ever? Rick Astley at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade
After a brief Thanksgiving holiday hiatus, I'm back and fatter than ever. I must have drank about 500 Sam Adams since last Wednesday. Combine that with the T-Day dinner, Celtics game Friday night and Pats game yesterday afternoon and you could say that I am starting to resemble Vincent Wilfork with a slightly lighter tan. This is not cool.
Since I was gone for a few days, I am a little behind on clips, news, etc. I caught this one in my email box and I have to admit, it's pretty freakin' awesome. In a sign that "celebrities" actually have a brain and sense of humor, Rick Astley decided to embrace the Rick-Roll phenomenon and perform on a float at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. He also proved that all publicity is good publicity since he is actually "relevant" again and I am assuming he got paid decently for this performance. If you are a one hit wonder, you have to take advantage of opportunities like this.
Does it get much better than a LIVE rolling Rick-Roll being watched by millions of people at the same time? That is just plain awesome.
