Jay Z & Alicia Keys - "Empire State Of Mind" Live At 2009 World Series Game 2 (ECHO SUCKS)

I didn't catch Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' performance of "Empire State of Mind" last night at Game 2 of the World Series live but I'm kind of glad I didn't because I would have been pissed at how the song was butchered by the sound engineers at the stadium.

Actually, I can't even blame them because there is only so much you can do at an open stadium like that.  I actually blame FOX for not figuring this out before they went live.  You can't really eliminate the echo in the stadium so why wouldn't FOX plug in to the original audio source so people at home didn't have to hear a shitty version of a great song?  I've seen multiple outdoor performances on TV where you didn't have to deal with this garbage. You just cut out the stadium and crowd microphones.  WTF were they thinking?

If you pay close enough attention, it sounds like they actually did a great job performing the song but it's hard to tell because of the freakin' painful echo bouncing all over the place.  I'm surprised they were able to concentrate but I assume they had earpieces in so they could follow the "real" beat.  That was just disappointing.
