Random iPod Track of the Week - 2Pac "Pour Out a Little Liquor" (UNDERRATED)

So check this out.  I was trying to think of some songs for a Power Hour Mixtape that I'm making for my little brother in college and I randomly came across 2Pac's (aka Thug Life's) "Pour Out a Little Liquor". Aw shit!!!  PERFECT!!!  The actual meaning of the song is a little more somber since it's reminiscing over Pac's dead homies but whatever.  He's still talking about drinking 40's and gettin' tore up from the floor up (pronounced "Tow Up from the Flow Up" for all of the Hip Hop challeneged out there).

If you can take it back far enough, you'll remember that this was a huge part of the movie Above the Rim which is one of my all time favorites and a classic basketball/Hip Hop movie from the 90's. This is by far one of 2Pac's most underrated songs but I can't really figure out why.

Actually, the whole damn Thug Life album is probably one of his best from front to back but is often forgotten about or not considered in the "greatest" argument because it's more of a group album than a 2Pac solo album.  Either way, it doesn't get much better than songs like 'Bury Me a G', 'How Long Will They Mourn Me' or 'Cradle to the Grave'.  All are absolute bangers!

If you're a 2Pac fan and have never heard THUG LIFE" Volume 1 or haven't listened to it in awhile, I suggest you go back and pop that in.  That album is freakin' TIMELESS!
