Gabe Pruitt Arrested on DUI and C's Lose to Clippers (WEAK)

What's the deal, Gabe?  Come on now.  You're better than this!  TMZ.com is reporting that Gabe Pruitt was arrested for a DUI last night in LA after the Celtics lost to the Clippers:

Pruitt, a member of the Boston Celtics, was pulled over around 3:15 AM in the Hollywood area. Sources tell TMZ Pruitt failed a field sobriety test and had a blood alcohol level well over the legal limit.

He was taken to a local jail and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence. His bail was $5,000.

Pruitt, who went to college at USC in Los Angeles, scored three points last night in the Celtics' 93-91 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

What is he doing out until 3 AM after a game?  Don't they have some kind of curfew on the road?  He is from the LA area so I am sure he had a bunch of friends that took him out for some drinks which is OK but he needs to learn that you can't let your knucklehead friends bring you down.  He is only 22 years old, so he is still learning how to deal with his new found fame.  If you are going to go out drinking with your buddies and you are a professional athlete, you can either afford a limo/cab or you can talk one of your more sober friends into driving.  Just a dumb move to be driving home, even if he only had a few drinks.  Since he failed the sobriety test, I am sure he had a decent amount too.  If you are out on the road past 12 AM, you are just asking to be pulled over by 5-0.

I feel bad for the kid because getting arrested for DUI sucks and is something that never gets erased from your record.  It will always be brought up throughout the rest of his career as a question about his intelligence and maturity.  Normal people get a DUI and have to deal with the typical garbage but can usually keep it DL.  When you are in the NBA, you end up on TMZ the next morning.  Yikes.

To make the situation worse, the Celtics lost to the crappy Clippers in a close game that they could have and should have won.  Pierce missed a jumper at the end that he usually hits but he f'd up his thumb earlier in the game and I am sure that affected him in some way.  Rondo had a chance to hit House for a three but he lost control of the ball out of bounds and the C's never even got a last attempt at winning the game.  WEAK!!!
