Skullcandy's Mix Master Headphones Commercial Ft. Mix Master Mike (COOL)

I hadn't seen this commercial until but I guess it has been on Fuse TV for a couple of weeks. I always forget that channel even exists but it's actually pretty solid for music videos and such.

Anyway, superstar DJ, turntablist and Beastie Boys collaborator Mix Master Mike has teamed up with Skullcandy to create his own line of DJ headphones. They will retail for $250 so they aren't for everyone but I guarantee they boom if Mix Master Mike was involved. There is no way he is going to put his name on some inferior headphones considering that is one of the key components of his craft.

Skullcandy has also released NBA Mix Master Headphones with logos and colors from some of the top NBA teams.  They did this before with a more affordable set of headphones in the $50 range but it's nice to see them release a newer and higher end version with the same theme.  I'm definitely considering getting a pair of the Celtics version, although all teams are sold out on Skullcandy.com.  They do provide a map with locations that they are currently available locally which ends up being only Apple Stores.  I might have to take a look at my local store and see if they have any in stock.  You can never have too many DJ headphones, especially when they rep your favorite team.

There's nothing worse than DJ'n with shitty headphones. You are basically guessing if your mix is on beat because you can't hear the difference between the cue and the deck currently playing through the speakers. If you are an aspiring DJ, I highly recommend you get some nice loud (and fairly expensive) DJ specific headphones. It might hurt your wallet at first but you will be much better off in the long run. They are more expensive for a reason...
