XBox Kinetic - No Controller Needed (COULD BE SICK)

Damn!  This new "Project Natal" (now named XBox Kinetic) for the XBox 360 could be dope as hell if it ends up working like it does in the video above.  The problem is, the finished product will probably be a lot more inconsistent and frustrating to use since the technology to pull this off is not quite where it needs to be.  Just think about voice recognition on your cell phone.  You have to either say it 10 times before it recognizes what you are saying or it calls the wrong person.  It's annoying as hell.  I'm sure similar problems will arise with Project Natal as well.

It might take awhile to get this concept running at full strength but this would be insanely fun if it's ever done correctly.  This is defintiely the next level above the Nintendo Wii.  I could see people using this for their workouts at home and it could probably help those gaming nerds drop a few more pounds too.  I already use Wii Sports Boxing to get a workout in once in awhile so if I could do some more intense movements without having to worry about throwing my controller through the flat screen, then I will be pretty damn excited.  I would buy this in a heartbeat if it was priced right and worked correctly.

It should be interesting to see how this all pans out.  If Microsoft can get this on the market in the next year or so and it works as advertised then they will take away a ton of sales from the Nintendo Wii and PS3.

This is the quick description of Project Natal from YouTube:
Introducing Project Natal, a revolutionary new way to play: no controller required. See a ball? Kick it, hit it, trap it or catch it. If you know how to move your hands, shake your hips or speak you and your friends can jump into the fun -- the only experience needed is life experience.
