Celtics Destroy Heat By 29 Points in Game 2 (THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT!)

"I'll show you how to do this, son!"

That's what the F*** I'm talking bout!!!  I've been waiting for a game like this all year long.  I didn't think the Celtics still had the killer instinct but they just proved last nigh that it was there all along just waiting to be released.  After playing a close one in Game 1 and losing Kevin Garnett to a suspension from the "elbow incident", the C's stepped the F*** up in Game 2 and destroyed the Heat by 29.

This game was never really close and for once, the Celtics didn't let up on the gas when they had a big lead.  Almost every other time the C's had been up by 15-20 points throughout the season, they would let the other team get back in the game.  Last night was a huge turning point and also a big confidence booster for the team and the fans.  My expecations for the playoffs were very low and I really thought the C's could possibly lose to the Heat in Round 1 if they continued to play shitty like they did for the final weeks of the season.  Now, I feel like they are rejuvenated and can beat anyone.  It sounds ridiculous after just one game but I really feel that is exactly what was needed to get these guys motivated again.  It's funny how quickly things can change.

Ray Allen broke out of his funk and went 7 for 9 from three point range, ending with 25 points.  He was absolutely on fire after starting off fairly slow and being way too passive.  Once he hit his first three, you could tell he was feeling it because he took an instant heat check the next time down the court.  Even though he missed, he continued to shoot which is exactly what the Celtics want from him, especially when KG is out.  He ended up shooting 9 for 13 from the field but it felt like he didn't miss a shot.  Let's hope he can keep that stroke going for the next few games and the rest of the playoffs.  He only needs one game to break out of a slump and that was definitely it.

Glen "Big Baby" aka "The Ticket Stub" Davis was HUGE with his excellent play on the boards and great defense but the most welcome surprise was his 23 points.  Unreal!  We all know that BBD was capable of a game like that but no one was really expecting it at the same time.  He also started off a little slow and was blocked about 4 or 5 times before he finally started hitting some shots and getting to the line.  By the end of the game, he looked unstoppable.  He always seems to step up in big games, especially in the playoffs, and this one was no exception.  I thought that we would never see the same fire from him as we did last year in the playoffs but luckily, I was wrong.

I had a feeling before the game that by KG being out, it would actually help the Celtics.  They wouldn't be able to rely on KG to make big plays which meant that they all had to step it up to that next level.  Luckily, that's exactly what they did.  That was just a great game all around and there was awesome energy from the team and the crowd.

My buddies and I were just talking about how this is the first time in a long time that we lost our voices from yelling at the game.  I also don't remember standing up so much to cheer a great play or big shot since the 2009 playoffs since there was nothing to cheer about all season long.  Let's hope this is the start to the resurgence that we've been waiting for all season long.  Maybe they were just saving their energy for the playoffs this whole time and really can just flip the switch?!?!  Let's hope so...
