"Ruff Ryders Anthem" has to be one of the hardest Rap singles of all time.  The fact that this was released with any commercial success is kind of crazy but the fact that it was so huge is just unreal. I still can't believe that this song made it to Billboard Hot 100 (peaked at #94) and is also ranked #79 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop.

I used to play this once in awhile in the club just to wake everyone the fuck up on a dead or boring night.  It's not exactly an uptempo song but as soon as people hear the intro, they start going crazy.  Everyone from a thug to a rich suburban kid knows this song and I'm pretty sure if you played it loud enough right now wherever you may be, someone would start singing along.

I guess it goes to show that if you produce a dope beat with a catchy hook, people don't really care how much vile shit you are spitting on the track.  "Talk is cheap muthafucka!!!"
