Cee-Lo's "Open Happiness" Official Video (GOOD TIMES)

The new video for "Open Happiness" definitely reflects the title of the song perfectly.  I couldn't help but be in a really good mood after watching it.  It's a little on the trippy side, yet something you might see on Sesame Street, all mixed together into something very cool.  It's definitely a dope track that transcends all genres.  I think this will be a big hit since it could potentially get airplay on almost every kind of radio station.

Cee-Lo is joined by Brendon Urie (Panic at the Disco), Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy), Travis McCoy (Gym Class Heroes) and Janelle Monae.  It's actually a collaborative track so it's not necessarilly Cee-Lo's joint but he did write most of it along with Butch Walker and production from Polow Da Don.  I did a little digging since this song seems like it would be a great commercial track and sure enough, it was created for Coca-Cola to help promote their new marketing campaign.  It's a message that “reflects the spirit of positivity, optimism and fun,” according to a press release.

Expect to hear this song and see the "Open Happiness" slogan everywhere for the next 12 months or more.  It's all about positivity now but I don't know how I will feel after hearing it for the 347th time.  Big companies are really good at killing something that was great when you first heard/saw it and then make you want to poke your eyes out or want to light yourself on fire by the end of the campaign.

We'll see how this one goes.  I'm sure I will be writing a new post about how much I can't stand it in about 3-4 months...
