2009 College Slam Dunk Contest (RESPECTABLE)

Just like the High School Slam Dunk contest we saw earlier in the week, there's nothing too ground breaking going on in this dunk contest but it was somewhat entertaining. There were some creative dunks mixed in there but nothing we haven't really already seen in the past.

This dude Charlie Coley III from Charlotte may not have been the best dunker (he came in 2nd) but he definitely put some thought into his dunks.  The long pass from the stands was cool but I actually give more credit to the guy making the pass because that is the hardest part of the whole equation.  His other dunk over Jalen Rose sitting in his judge chair was very nice but it's something that has been done before and Jalen wasn't extremely high off the ground since he was sitting.  After seeing 5'8" Nate Robinson jump over 7 footer Dwight Howard standing straight up in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest this year, I expect more from these types of dunks.  I guess we are spoiled now.

Tony Danridge from New Mexico won it all with an old school Rock the Cradle Windmill Dunk a la Michael Jordan.  It wasn't what you would expect to win a dunk contest these days but it was well executed and had both power and finesse.  He got his head up there above the rim to make it that much nastier too.  Not bad.

Droppin' Air Force 1 Knowledge - Playmaker TV Vol. 3 (FRESH)

If you think you have sneaker game, think again.  These dudes will put you to shame.  This is a video I just found that was taken back in December 2008 at Niketown NYC.  The selection of rare and custom kicks they put on display was ridiculous.  I've posted some videos about DJ Clark Kent and his sneaker addiction in the past but this is on some next level shit.  The "Mayor" shows off some of his collection of 1,300 sneakers which includes over 1,000 Nike Air Force 1's.

There was also some crazy knowledge being kicked by Rich "Maze" Lopez and Clark Kent's boy "All Day" who has over 5,000 pairs of sneakers.  Damn.  I can't even compete with that madness.  How do these dudes afford all of these kicks?  It's insane!

My Mom always told me I had too many sneakers but she had no idea how bad it could have been.  I need to send her this video to show her I'm not really that crazy with my sneaker addiction.  If anything, I need to step my game up!

Drivers License Trick from Family Guy (CLEVER)

I don't condone drunk driving in any way but come on now; this is funny.  Peter Griffin is by far the smartest dumb guy known to man.

Bonus material:
Peter:  "What's with the big grin?"
Cleveland: "I just got a new tube of AquaFresh and I was feeling cocky."

Classic.

Little Kids Rockin' Out to Hip Hop - Part 2 (AWESOME)

If this doesn't put you in a good move, nothing will.  Little kids dancing to rap music (especially pale red heads) will always be funny.  These are definitely "Dance Moves That Rock"!

Is this the seed of Brian Scalabrine?  No, it can't be.  This kid is too cool...

Ray Allen Hits Game Winning Shot in 2nd OT vs. Bobcats (MONEY!)

I had a hoops game last night so I wasn't able to catch most of the Celtics game against the BobKittens but I did make it home in time to catch the 1st and 2nd OT. I'm not sure why the hell the game was so close but I will take that win.  You hate close games against inferior teams but it happens over the course of an 82 game season.

The Bobcats are actually a much improved team under Larry Brown this season. I wasn't sure he would be able to handle the lack of talent and young players on this team but he has done a nice job. Watch out for these guys in the next few years if they can pick up some more talent in the draft or through trades and free agency. They are no longer a joke as they were just last season.  They can compete with almost anyone as they have proved against the Celtics a few times this year.

Ray Allen has been killing it softly over the past 2 months.  He is ON FIRE!  We needed someone to step up while Garnett has been gone and Ray has been that dude. Pierce has continued to play strong (as always) and has been carrying the team on his back. He was the one who set up Allen for the three in the corner by driving to the hoop and drawing the defense.  That's how you do it!

I would love it if Pierce didn't have to exert so much energy just to keep the team in these games though. I hope KG recovers quickly for the playoffs so that this is a non-issue. Nice win!

Pharrell Really Loves Himself Some McDonald's (WTF?!?!)

Either Pharrell is losing his damn mind or he just got paid a nice chunk of change from McDonald's to create a viral video of him freakin' out and singing the Micky D's song at 6 AM in a Paris airport.  Regardless of the reason, this is some weird ass shit.

On a somewhat related note, can the skinny jeans trend please stop?  He just looks stupid with those "too tight for your nutsack to breathe" type of pants hanging off his ass.  Did he steal them from Gwen Steffani's closet or some shit?  No wonder they were ready to call the security on him.  Planes are already uncomfortable as it is.  Try some sweatpants, homey!

I think this video also proves that either the French suck even more than we already assumed or P needs to step up his international game because no one in Paris seems to know who the F he is!!!

Definitely one of the most random videos I've seen in awhile...

2009 McDonald's High School Dunk Contest (DECENT)

There's nothing too crazy going on in this video that you haven't seen before but it's hard for me to pass on watching a Dunk Contest of any kind.  I am straight up addicted and always looking for that next incredible dunk.

I have to give props to the token goofy white kid.  This time around it was 6'11" Mason Plumlee who is committed to Duke next season.  He looked a little awkward as tall guys in dunk contests always do and he can't really jump that high but he had some creativity and made some clean dunks.  Not bad.

Avery Bradley (who is committed to Texas) pulled off the win with an array of creative dunks for a dude that is only 6'2" at best.  He had some nice windmills and reverse dunks going on.  Nice.

I have a feeling the best dunkers in high school never make the McDonald's All American game.  The dudes that throw down the best dunks are usually not the best players and sometimes that's all they can do.  We are talking ZERO game.  It's too bad because that is when kids are close to their jumping apex and will try anything.  I would love to be able to catch a highlight tape for some of the best high school dunk contest jams from around the country.  I'm sure there is some crazy ish out there that would blow away some of the best NBA dunkers...
