I haven't had a chance to listen to this yet but it just dropped in my email box and is slated for official release tomorrow, so I wanted to put it out there. DJ Smallz always has some solid mixtapes, so I am sure this one, filled with tracks from independent artists, will be a banger as well. Let me know what you think about it in the comments.

Nike HyperDunk Marty McFly Special Edition

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket It's about time Nike got on board with the Nike McFly's which were made famous in the movie Back to the Future II. I definitely remember seeing these as a youngster (just when my sneaker addiction was kicking into full gear) and thinking to myself that I had to have these if/when they ever got released. Unfortunately, that day never came but it seems like it could be coming in the near future. Add a hover board to the equation and I'll drop like $500+ for the OG McFly's. Although these HyperDunks aren't the actual McFly's from the movie, I read that the HyperDunks were actually inspired by the original McFly's, so ain't that some crazy reverse karma shit. There was an actual online petition created a year or two ago to get Nike to create the OG McFly's and let them know there was a real demand. It looks like they are getting the message loud and clear. Hopefully the real version with power laces will be dropping in 2015! I haven't seen an official release date for around the country but it sounds like there will be 500 pairs total and 100 were already released at UNDFTD in Cali on Wednesday, July 2nd. UPDATE: Kobe showed up at UNDFTD in the DeLorean! Dope entrance: Photobucket Photobucket

Kanye West Signature Nike Air Yeezy's

Pics of the Nike Air Yeezy's started floating around the net a few months ago. I was just about to post the Nike HyperDunk McFly's and it made me think of these kicks and the fact that I hadn't posted anything on them yet. Although it's a little strange at first, I like that Nike is thinking outside the box and giving signature shoea to non-athletes.

Anyway, these are some DOPE ASS kicks. I love them in every single colorway and will definitely cop these in mass quantities once they are actually available. I haven't seen anything about WHEN these might be released but they definitely are not a one off shot made just for Kanye. That is definitely good news as the buzz and demand for these continues to increase.

If you take a close look at the kicks, you'll see hints of the Air Flight Revolution outsole, and tongue and ankle shaped similar to the Air Force V. I love the style of these since they look familiar in some way, yet they are different enough to still be new and original. Peep all the colorways I've found to date:

Air Jordan 6 Rings (Olympic Edition)

AJ 6 Rings 1
AJ 6 Rings 2
AJ 6 Rings 3
I'm not really sure how I feel about these joints. These are similar to the other combo Jordans that have been released in the past few years that take a piece of a few different J's to create one crazy Frankenstein version. They have been fairly hit or miss. I'm not sure I like the combination on the 6 Rings but I do like the Olympic colorway. I have a pair of the Spiz'ikes, which is a combination of five different Air Jordans of the past:

This is the colorway I copped last summer with a special online only edition. These also came with a dope Jordan Messenger Bag and iPod case but the total package was in the $225 range, if I remember correctly. Not exactly easy on the wallet.
AJ Spiz'ike Red
I think any time you can combine some of the best Jordan's of the past, it's potentially a good thing but not everyone is a fan of these reincarnations.

I'd rate the AJ 6 Rings kicks as a 8 out of 13 bottles on the Thirsty13.com scale...

Here's a video of Bow Wow opening his pair of Jordan 6 Rings:

BeatBoxing At It's Finest...

I don't have much to say here other than these are some dope ass beatboxers. I had a bunch of these videos in my favorites folder in YouTube, so I figured I would unload them on you. I knew about Rahzel and Scratch from the Roots but I came across these other guys through linked videos. The last two are foreign dudes but they definitely let the beats do the translating for them. Check it:

This is Rahzel, formerly of the Roots. My favorite part is when he does the Aaliyah track "If Your Girl Only Knew" and he does the vocals and beat at the same time (At the 5:27 minute mark). Pretty unbelievable:

Scratch lives up to his name with a dope virtual turntable set. Check all the old white folk in the crowd going WTF? I think this was somewhere in Europe so they definitely had no clue what was going on. Dope nonetheless:
\

This is one of the kids I found randomly. His name is El Poolpo from Spain (I believe) and he is one of my favorites because he does his own versions of popular songs. He does MJ's "Billie Jean", Snoop's "Drop It Like It's Hot", some Disco, House and even Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction" (second video). That ish was fire!

Robeat is another foreign dude that does a lot of house type beats which sound ridiculously like a real track. He is real good with the snares too:

Did You Hear That the Celtics Won the Championship?!?!

Just in case you forgot already, the Boston Celtics won the 2008 NBA Finals! Oh man! That will never get old. It's really just starting to sink in for me so I apologize if this post seems late. I was at Game 6 and have been on a high ever since. I am just starting to come down and reality has sunk in that it in fact was not a dream. That massacre of the Los Angeles Lakers actually happened?!?! Damn. Completely insane.

Now that I have composed myself slightly, I figured I would put up a few celebratory videos to help me get through the rest of the day.

This is the best BEAT LA chant of all time; complete with subway drummer and Madi Gras horn guy. This goes on for minutes and it probably could have gone all night but I bet the person recording ran out of memory. Look for the dope chick grinding towards the end. You gotta love what Hip Hop videos have done for white girls!

This is probably one of the classiest commercials I have seen to celebrate the Celtics victory. Just well done all around.

Thanks Red! Reebok Commercial
