Dwyane Wade's Air Jordan 2010 Commercial - "Nightmares Never Sleep" (BADASS)

When I saw this new Dwyane Wade Air Jordan 2010 Commercial called "Nightmares Never Sleep" for the first time Wednesday Night during the Celtics/Heat game on TNT and it gave me the f'n chills. This is just a BADASS commercial. There's no other way to describe it.

I think it gets better the more you watch it too.  I keep picking up on little details that I never saw before like this nice little surprise at the :54 mark.  There is an image of Michael Jordan (or maybe that's DWade in Jordan's uniform?) bursting out of DWade Matrix style as he makes his move to the hoop.  Check it:


So sick!  I'm still not a huge fan of the Air Jordan 2010 and it's huge "window" (aka circle) in the middle of the shoe but maybe they will grow on me with time.  If they keep releasing awesome commercials like this one, maybe they might just subliminally talk me into buying them.

Random Ish - Kitten Fights Rottweiler, Grocery Store Dance Party & More

Kitten Fights Rottweiler - This kitten is a badass! It just beat the piss out of that Rotweiler like it's nothing. Too bad kittens f'n suck when they grow up and become bitchy ass cats. I would totally get one though if they stayed fun like this little guy...


Grocery Store Dance Party - I thought this was gonna suck at first but I actually kind of liked it once it got going.  This dude can get down and it's even more impressive because of those tiny aisles with all of the crap lying around as obstacles.  That might be the most ghetto Grocery Store I've ever seen.  How much more crap can you fit in those aisles?  Jesus.


Reporter Makes Backwards Halfcourt Shot - This is a local news follow up to the recent video of the High School Basketball Coach from Kansas that hit a blindfolded halfcourt shot that's been making the rounds in the past week.  At first you assume it's not real but after another look, I think it might be legit based on his reaction of disbelief and the girl in the background freaking out.  All of that could be faked but something about it just seems real.

Boombox Bikers in Queens, NY (IS THIS COOL?)

At first I thought this Boombox Biker thing was gonna be kind of cool and then I quickly realized it might be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. I am always down for the latest way to blast music at the highest volume possible and I've always been a big advocate of obnoxious car stereo systems that make windows rattle and buildings shake but on a bicycle?  WTF?!?!  That is just ridiculous. All of those speakers are heavy as shit too!  I'm all set with that madness! 

On top of it all, these kids were blasting some terrible music.  I know that's what they listen to in Trinidad and Tobago and I'm fine with that on some level but if you are going to blast the streets of Queens, NY with a bike full of speakers, shouldn't it be some of that real Hip Hop?  Or at least make it some radio friendly music so everyone can get down with it.  No wonder people look at them weird or get pissed off.  If they were blasting some Rakim, 50 Cent, Mobb Deep or Nas to represent their hood, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be having any problems. 

You know what?  I think I've already changed my mind on this whole Bike Stereo thing while typing up this post.  The more videos I see, the more I want one (I just need a bike first!).  I think it would be kind of cool if you lived in the city and you had endless pavement to blast people with some block rockin' beats.   Just check out some of these other Boombox Biker videos below.  This shit is crazy!




BONUS:  This chick had a nice set up on the back of her bike blasting some House Music but she couldn't even hold the weight up and she almost dumped her goods face first on the pavement. Classic!

LeBron & Dwight's Super Bowl Ad Teaser - Remake of McDonald’s Classic Jordan vs. Bird Commercial (QUESTIONABLE)

The idea to remake McDonald's classic commercial featuring Michael Jordan and Larry Bird going head to head might have seemed like a good idea at first but I'm not sure I like where they are going with it. Even though this video above is only a quick sneak peak I just have a funny feeling they are going to screw this up somehow. 

Although LeBron James can pull off some crazy shots, Dwight Howard can barely make a free throw more than 50% of the time and his jump shot has shades of Chris Dudley in it.  If they remake the original concept of a shooting contest, then this is a terrible idea and really poor choice of players. If it ends up being a remix of the original and it becomes a crazy dunk off, I think I can get down with it.  It will piss everyone off that wants to see LeBron in the Dunk Contest but it's probably the closest we will ever see these two go at it so I guess I'll take it. 

I've probably posted it about 5 separate times on this site already but here's another look at the original McDonald's commercial featuring Jordan vs. Bird.  It doesn't get much better than this:

Take a close look and you will see Jordan wearing the Air Jordan VII in the White/Black/Cardinal Red/Bronze colorway below.  I always loved these but I went with the Black/Red/Purple colorway back in the day instead.  Can we get a new retro of these please?!?!  I need them!!!

"Where Defense Happens" - New NBA Commercial (AUTO-TUNED)

I saw this new "Where Amazing Happens" commercial for the first time last night during the Celtics/Heat game and it completely blew my mind.. Auto-Tune should only be allowed in situations like this.  Get it out of Hip Hop, Pop and R&B but by all means continue using it in commercials and crazy YouTube compilations.  It just makes the simplest audio clips sound so freakin' awesome!  

Speaking of the Celtics, it looks like they finally got their act together last night in their win over the Miami Heat.  Their defense was still lacking most of the game but the offense finally looked solid for the first time in weeks.  They were actually making some big plays down the stretch and there were plenty of highlights to get the crowd fired up. 

They actually looked like they were one of the elite teams in the league for the first time in months and this was all without Pierce who is out with an ankle sprain for a few more games. KG was making some nice shots on the post and looks like he got his swagger back.  Rondo was all over the place making plays on offense and defense as usual and Ray Allen finally hit a few big shots after being in a slump for awhile now. Hopefully this continues...

Man Caught Looking at Sketchy Photos in Background of Live Newsroom Report (CLASSIC)

This guy had to have known he was on live TV, right?  I'll admit, I might sneak a few pics of hot chicks at work here and there but I am fully aware who is behind me and/or walking near my desk at all times. If I knew they were filming a live TV show in my office, you bet your ass I would have an excel sheet or email open the whole damn time. I'm not even going to risk opening any sketchy attachments or going on the internet while that is happening either. What a dumbass!  I guess that guy doesn't like his job.

Beer Pong Slam Dunks (AWESOME)

Beer Pong is the Basketball of drinking games so it seems only logical that Dunking would soon become a part of the game.  I guess I'm just a little too old because this never existed in my day and surprisingly, no one ever thought of it. I kind of feel like those guys that got married and started having kids in the mid 60's right before Free Love, Drugs and Woodstock hit the scene.  It's beyond infuriating to know that I missed out on something so awesome and I'm pissed I didn't think of doing it myself.

If I was still in college, I guarantee I would be one of the best Ber Pong Dunkers around.  My many years of Nerf Hoop Dunk Contests as a youth with my buddy D.C. would have given me all the skills I needed to pull of epic Beer Pong Dunks. We were pulling off these video game dunks more than a decade before they existed.  Most of these dudes in this video are amateurs as far as I'm concerned.

I'm impressed with the collection of dunks as a whole since this is all new to me but I need to see some more originality and diversity in their execution.  It will come with time, I'm sure.  If you are going to break the table and maybe your neck, you might as well go all out and take it to the next level.  I want to see more alley oops, possibly some props like a chair or a person to jump over and maybe even some flips.

Even though the power dunks are impressive, I'd also like to see a few more finesse dunks.  I'm pretty sure I could jump the length of the table, go behind the back and drop in a dunk without knocking over a single cup and land on my feet on the other end.  That's the type of shit I'm talking about. 

Luckily a few of these guys stepped it up so I wasn't completely disappointed. I was very impressed by the dude on the skateboard who caught some major air and cleared the table, the kid who popped a nice two footed reverse 360 and the guy who took off from deep and landed a nice slam into the pool. That's some good shit right there!
