The Secret Behind Nike Air (MILDLY AMUSING)

I'm not really sure why I am posting this Nike video because it was mildly amusing at best but I didn't really put up any shoe related content this week so I guess this will do. I really thought this was going to be funnier and more entertaining considering it had that dude David Koechner from Anchorman leading the way. Either he had no creative input whatsoever or he's just not as funny as I thought. It had a lot of potential but the idea just fell flat. Oh well.

C's Win Game 4 w/ Huge Play From Nate and Big Baby ("WE'RE LIKE SHREK & DONKEY")

Now that's WTF I'm talking about!!!  It wasn't pretty but the C's got the job done and sent a message to the Lakers that they are not going to back down.  I lost about 3 years of my life last night watching this game but the end result was worth it.  With a win on Sunday, the Celtics will take back the momentum of this series.  I have a feeling whoever wins Game 5 will win the whole thing.

The Celtics starters still did not play well which is super frustrating, although Pierce had a good game with some big shots and Allen started making some plays in the 4th quarter.  Unfortunately, Garnett was missing a ton of open jumpers and Rondo was missing bunnies but the bench stepped in and took it to the next level.

I thought we needed to see more of Nate Robinson in this game and when he got some PT, he did not disappoint.  He hit a couple of big threes and brought that crazy energy to the team that was sorely needed.  He was getting the crowd into it too which was huge since they were in a coma for most of the 2nd and 3rd quarter.  Big Baby also played great and gave us his "Leon Powe game".  He even started drooling like a rabid dog after he made a huge and 1 play.  Dude is nuts!!!

These two crazy bastards also linked up for one of the more memorable quotes of the Finals so far.  "We're like Shrek and Donkey!"  HA HA!  F'n classic!  I love Nate!

I don't think they showed this on replay during the game for some reason but there was also an awesome moment where Pierce made an And 1 play and gave a fist pump to celebrate which turned into a solid punch that landed square on the face of referee Eddie Rush.  AWESOME!  I wish he would have done that during the first three games after some of those awful calls.  Luckily the officiating was decent in Game 4 and it made a huge difference.

Thursday Throwbacks: Sagat - "Why Is It (Funk Dat!)

I totally forgot about Sagat's "Funk Dat" until the other day when I heard it being used as bumper music for a skit on Opie and Anthony.  So f'n random.

Watching the video brought back some serious memories because this was my shit back in like 1994.  It was so completely different from anything else out there.  Not only was it some laid back House music that rarely got any play outside of the underground scene but the song was based around some shady looking dude just saying random shit over the top of it.  WTF?!?!? There is no way this would ever make it on TV or Radio nowadays.  You gotta love the randomness of the 90's.

The video was in heavy rotation on MTV for a few weeks and then Beavis and Butthead got a hold of it and took it to the next level.  Remember this?  Freakin' classic!

Here is the original unedited version of the song appropriately titled "Fuk Dat!".  I think this version is a little better but they are both classics.

Eminem feat. Lil Wayne - "No Love" (SAMPLES 90's CLASSIC 'WHAT IS LOVE')

I don't think I ever expected Haddaway's 90's classic dance song "What is Love" to be sampled by a Hip Hop producer and I definitely never expected Eminem or Lil Wayne to be on that track but somehow, this shit just works. You know the sample is there but it sounds different enough that you don't associate it with the original too much.  It's just a cool element to a dope ass song.  Good shit.

If you were ever an Eminem fan, you should be very hyped up for the new Recovery album that drops June 22.  Em is officially back.  Dude has been ripping every track for the past 6-9 months with some of the best verses of his career.  As he says in "No Love" above, "I'm alive again!".

'Pro Toast' - Toaster That Burns Team Logos (RANDOM BUT KINDA COOL)

Photobucket
This is one of those products that will complete segregate males and females.  I guarantee if you had this on your kitchen counter during a party, every single dude would be like "DUDE!  That's freakin' sweet!  Where did you get that?" and all of the chicks would be like "That's lame.  You're so immature." or some bullshit like that.  Whatever.

Now that I'm married, there is no way in hell this would be allowed in my house but you know damn well that I would have all 4 of these bad boys on my kitchen counter.  I don't even like hockey but I would have to get the Bruins joint to fully represent the Boston sports scene.

If you want one of these bad boys, head on over to http://www.pangeabrands.com/.  They have a full lineup of MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL teams.

"Smooth Off" - Diddy & Aziz Ansari's Ciroc Vodka Promo (AMUSING)

Diddy kind of annoyed me in this new Ciroc Vodka promo which was kind of expected but overall it was pretty funny.  Aziz Ansari definitely saved it.  Even when he's not doing something funny I just crack up.  I guess it's just because he's so funny looking and awkward.  I have no idea if that means he's actually funny or not but whatever.  I still think he's the shit.

I feel like that cockiness act that Diddy was putting on was a little too real  though.  That was way too easy for him.  WTF does "SMOOVE" mean, by the way?  Learn how to speak Diddy.  You sound like an ass.

Celtics Lose Game 3 at Home (WTF WAS THAT GARBAGE?)

WTF was that?  What an awful performance by the Celtics.  The Lakers weren't even playing that well and Kobe was in hero mode which was giving the C's a chance to win this game but they still pissed it away.

The refs didn't exactly help the cause but they have been horrible all playoffs so it should be expected that they will suck at this point.  It's still tough not to bitch about them though because there were so many blatantly bad calls.  Who would have thought that I would be saying Salvatore was actually decent.  It was Kennedy who was making insanely bad calls all game long against the C's which I was definitely expected.  I still don't understand how a guy that has a personal vendetta against Doc and the C's is allowed to ref in an NBA Finals game involving both of them.  Ridiculous.

Had Ray Allen hit ANY shots (2 Points; 0 for 13 from the Field and 0 for 8 from Three Point range) maybe the outcome would be different.  How the hell do you go from having one of the best games ever to having one of the shittiest games ever back to back?  That was beyond frustrating.

KG finally had a nice game but he didn't play big minutes for some reason.  I don't know if KG was tired or whatever but I really think he should have played more since he wasn't even in foul trouble.  He was the one Celtic actually scoring easily and he looked rejuvenated.  I find it hard to believe that he couldn't keep that up for an extra 10 minutes.  He was the only chance the team had to pull out a win since no one else was stepping up.

I am still in shock.  I fully expected the C's to win Game 3 and lose Game 4 but now I am worried about the next two games at home.  If you can't get up for the first home game of the Finals, I don't know what will get you motivated.  The crowd started off loud as hell and I thought we would provide enough energy to get them back into it but even the crowd fell apart as we were all in shock at what happened in the second quarter.  By the time the Celtics started making a run, it was like the crowd had already given up.  Weak.

I officially have no idea how this series is going to end up.  I thought I had a good feel for how it was going to end up but now I am clueless.  Your guess is as good as mine.  Wake the F up Celtics!
